Some Task Force Members want teens to get 85 of those increases. The Task Force Wants polk county to go from the states minimum of hour next april. Wind s 1020 high 80 alo 80 the Johnson County Sheriffs Office says a 20 year old marion man drowned this weekend in the iowa river near downtown iowa city. First responders got the call of a person in the river, just north of the benton street bridge, at about 6 30 saturday night. Around 7 45, they pulled nathan twedts body from the river. He was a student at the university of northern iowa. The Sheriffs Office is asking for information from anyone who knows what happened, or saw twedt go into the river. If you have information, call two motorcycle drivers died after a crash in scott county. The Sheriffs Office says an suv crossed into oncoming traffic on highway 67 late last night. Investigators say it crashed with several motorcycles, killing them instantly. A third motorcycle driver was treated at the scene. The suvs driver also went to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. Deputies have not released the names of anyone involved. Nearby in davenport, investigators are looking for an suv and driver involved in a deadly hit a pedestrian on w. 3rd street around 1 20 am on sunday. The suv kept going after the crash. Police say the pedestrian died at the hospital. Dubuque police have made an arrest after a shooting downtown. Thats the same vote its been each time and supervisor john harris, the lone no vote expl the opposition hes heard from mainly Small Business owners in the rural areas and smaller communities. Supervisors had to vote on three separate occasions for the county wide change in minimum wage rules to take effect. With the change, the state and federal minimum wage of 7. 25 an hour goes to 8. 25 in linn county on january 1st.
