Generating 12 point eight million in matching funds from farmers and landowners. There are still 17 agriculture drainine wells in the state. Northey asked for just under two million to finish a project closing them. The final volume requirements under the renewable fuel standard d as announced monday. Causing mixed responses from ag groups. The final rule requires more Renewable Fuels than the proposal. But still falls from 16 point two eight billion gallons in 2014 to 18 point one one billion in 2016. About half a billion gallons fewer than what congress voted. Cellulosic biofuel is set to go up from 33 million gallons to 230 million gallons. The epa says the requirements boost production and support a robust qnd achievable growth of the biofuels industry. Some ag groups say that Shows Progress from the proposal. And moves the Biofuel Industry in the right direction. However. Groups like the iowa Renewable Fuels association say it still is an illegaga justificicion and the numbers should be higher. And some farmers were hoping to reach the higher blend needs because of low commodity prices. I dont think this is good news for that and ids sad because we have all this corn and its literally sitting around. A lot of it outside right now, we have so much corn and we cant even get it inside when its raining and snowing on it and we should be turning that into ethanol and ve the consumers a r rht to buy these higher blends at a lower cost and instead, were kind of i think. So, its frustrating, but all we can do is roll up our sleeves it is the final rule. Shaw adds. On products like biodiesel. The number is 300 million gallons up. But thats 25 percent below what was asked. And that doesnt account for the 400 million gallons of imported argentinian biodiesel. And the update on the Renewable Fuels standard is already in the grain markets. It was expecting june estimates on ethanol production.
