"the people of iowa, new hampshire and south carolina have spoken and i respect their decision. so tonight i am suspending my campaign." only 5 g-o-p candidates remain. forr florida governor jeb bush drops out of the republican presidential race, after a middling performance in the south carolina primary. jeb bush's decision came after businessman donald trump won his 2nd consecutive state. trump took the new hampshire primary last week. tonight, trump pulled in about a third of the vote in south carolina. texas senator ted cruz and florida senator marco rubio wereren a tight race for 2nd place with just over 22 percent each. jeb bush, who as we mentioned campaign, finished 4th with just shy of 8 percent. ohio governor john kasich and doctor ben carson finished fifth and sixth, respectively. trump spoke to a boisterous crowd at his headquarters in spartanburg, south carolina just a couple hohos ago. trump appeared with his wife, daughters, and campaign staff, saying he's excited to move ahead to nevada next week and then super tuesday in march. "i want to also congratulate the other candidates. in particular, i have to say ted and marco did a really good job. they did quite well as i understand it. "you'll rock it." aren't afraid to take on. in coralville, sarah mccarthy, kcrg-tv9 news. every uniformed officer on the des moines police force will be wearing a body camera by this june. police chief dana wingert tells the des moines register the police depeptment received bids from 7 body camera suppliers. now the department is working to select and purchase a camera model that fits with their in-car camera systems. wingert estimates the 4 million dollars. a lot of the money paying for the equipment came from private donors. the rest comes out of the department's budgege an iowa landowner group plans to sue if the iowa utilities board approves an oil pipeline that would cut across the state. the company dakota access wants to build the bakken oil pipeline from north dakota to illinois. the pipeline would cross through 18 counties in iowa. the northwest iowa landowner sociation argues the utilities board does not have the authority to grant eminent domain permission across the state. the government could use eminent domain to use privately- owned land for the propopod pipeline route. the utilities board could make a decision on the project as soon as next month. officials in illinois, south dakota and north dakota have already approvov construcucon of the pipeline i i those states. giving an idea legs can help it grow and become coggon decided four legs is better than two. this ten-vendor pet expo at the coggon center helped raise money for the linn county sheriff's office k-9 unit. forty-five percent of the admission fees went t the department. officers say it'll be used to pay animal medical bills or possibly to replace aging k9s, like gompie. he's nine years old, and approaching retirement. and new dogs are not cheap to train.
