north, just south of interstate 80 a little before nine last night. authorities tell tv9 a passenger found dead at the scene. investigators have not released the name of the person killed in the crash. law enforcement agencies this morning are investigating a fatal crash between a train and a pick-up truck in linn county. it happened around 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the intersection arabian road and the canadian national railroad tracks. that just south of alburnett. multiple law enforcement agencies were at the scene for hours. the linn county sheriff's office says a 44-year-old man from ma trailer. he was driving westbound when he drove into the path of a northbound canadian national freight trailer. the collision caused the truck to catch fire. officials say the marion man died at the scene. they haven't released his name yet. no canadian national railway crew members were injured in the crash. the linn county sheriff's office is investigating the crash, with the canadian national railway assisting with the investigation. two people in allamakee county following a narcotics investigation. the allamakee county sheriff's office made the arrests after executing two search warrants in lansing yesterday. they arrested and charged 53 year-old amy downing of lansing with possession of a controlled substance for methamphetam ine. that's after investigators found items used with illegal narcotics in a home at 211 valley street. during a traffic stop, authorities also arrested 56 yea-old richard aswegan junior of west union. he is a controlled substance. both are being held in the allamakee county jail. police in keokuk are looking into a shooting that killed a woman over the weekend. officers found 29 year old carissa rivers unresponsive shortly after midnight sunday. she was found in a keokuk alley near 10th street and north 5th street. rivers went to a hospital, where she died. an autopsy will be performed this week. police have not identified a customers saw higher than expected bills from alliant energy, the company took to social media yesterday to apologize for the surprise. it said the bills are accurate, because this summer was hotter here on kcrg-tv9. the red cross is opening resource centers this week for people impacted by flooding in eastern iowa. a center in vinton at benton county emergency management is open from 11 a-m to 8 p-m today. workers there have clean-up kits. inside it includes, shovels, rakes and mops and more. officials are also on hand to help with paperwork needed for flood recovery. the red cross will open similar centers in cedar falls and waverly solid waste agency will begin collecting garbage and recycling today for people who were inside that flood evacuation zone. people who live there can put out their normal trash container plus two 35- gallon bags for free. there are still two sandbag drop-off sites open in cedar rapids. one is at ellis park near the tennis courts and the other is in the noelridge pool parking lot. if you can't drop off your sandbags, the city will collect them, starting monday, october 10th. office and county courthouse will re-open today. that's after workers spent several days last week taking down barriers around the building. the correctional center opened saturday. members of st. patrick's catholic church are breathing a sigh of relief now that flood waters
