this morning, which again will encounter more traffic delays today. Drivers on that section of interstate 380 are dealing with big backups and new delays. But the wait time has little to do with the interstate itself. The main issues are around the penn street exit. This is video from yesterday, when the traffic was a little lighter. But during peak commute times, the offramp interstate. North liberty says the delays are the result of more traffic using interstate 380 because highway 965 is closed at the iowa river bridge for repairs. A widening project on penn street is also snarling traffic leaving the interstate. The city says it plans to look at the timing of the stop lights at that exit, but little changes can cause other problems. Every little change has a ripple effect, more traffic off of 380 south means less traffic less traffic off of kansas, so all of those little changes can have big ripple effects and big changes. The department of transportation is planning to begin work on adding a second interchange at forevergreen road in about one year. It says that should ease the pressure at penn street. The highway 100 extension west of cedar rapids is attracting the attention of contractors and county engineers. Theyre interested in the highways pavement. Most iowa highways are made of concrete. So the band director started an online fundraiser to get students matching track jackets 22 35, i didnt want to exclude any kid cause they couldnt afford it and i didnt want there to be a stigma of some kids can have it some kids cant, so we made it free for everyone.
