Hillary clinton and Bernie Sanders face offend oneonone for the first time last night, lots of tense moments inheir final debate before the New Hampshire primary. With the latest poll showing a big 15point lead for sanders. Abcs cecilia vega up in durham, New Hampshire, with all the latest. Good morning, cecilia. Reporter hey, george, good morning to you. We have not seen a debate like this before. Some of the most heated exchanges in this race so far, e jab after the next last night. Hillary clinton, as you said, down in those polls and she came out swinging. They came to fight. Enough is enough. If youve got something to say, r rorter the final debebe before they go headtohead in the nations first primary and overnight Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders went pound for pound. She has the entire establishment or almost the entire eststlishment behind her. R. Ive got to just jump in here because honestly senator sanders is the only person who i think would characterize me, a woman running to be the first woman president , as exemplifying the establishment. Reporter clinton attacking sandererfor suggesting that she is too close to wall street. You will not find that i ever changed a view or a vote because of any donation that i ever received. I think its time to end the very artful smear that you and your campaign have been carrying out in recent weeks and lets talk about the issues. Lets s lk about the issues s at divide us. Reporter in this fight for war. We differed on the war in iraq, which created barbaric organizations like isis, not only did i vote against that war i helped lead the opposition. Look, we did differ. A vote in 2002 is not a plan to defeat isis. Reporter just about the only thing they didnt argue about, those emails. Theres a proross under way, i will not politicize it. Before those emails it was benghazi, i have absolutely no concerns about it whatsoever. Reporter so many audible gasps in that hall last night. Now each side was alsosked if they would choose one another as a Vice President ial pick if they were elected. Shockingly probably nono shockingly they would not bite on that one. Hillary clinton did say, though, that if she does win her very first call to Bernie Sanders and she said she would reach out on interesting, indede. Cecilia, thanks so much. The countdown is on to the Republican Debate just one day away right here on abc and the candidates are teaming up to take on each other. The latest polls showing trump in the lead in New Hampshire, but marco rubio gaining momentum. Abcs jon karl is in manchester with the latest on all of that. Good morning, jon. Reporter good morning, amy. After his secondndlace finish in iowa, donald trump is taking nothing for granted here in New Hampshire where he has a commanding lead and is fighting hard to keep it. This is really crunch time. Reporter with five events across New Hampshire it was cross New Hampshire it was trumps busiest day yet in the granite state. My colleague tom llamas caught up with him in portsmouth. Im only worried about one thing, New Hampshire. Reporter it has turned into a game of survivor forming alliances as they fight to the finish. Trump is teaming up with ben carson to slam ted cruz over hisis campaigns misleading claim that drop out after iowa. Abc news obtained voice mails left by the Cruz Campaign on the night of the iowa caucus. Please inform any carson caucusgoers to this news and urge them to caucus for ted instead. Reporter apologized to carson but denies any wrongdoing. When you win in the state of iowa your opponents wantnto tear you downwn reporter the latest polls in New Hampshire show rubio rising. Abc news got an exclusive behindthescenes look with rubio on the campaign trail where his crowds are growing by the day. We wish you the best. Thank you. Ill be back. Thats just the overflow. Just the overflow. They couldn fit them all in. Ty couldnt get them all in, no. Got to get bigger rooms. Reporter on his campaign bus rubio defended his record. What about all these governors we have running, far more executive experience and look at you and say youre a freshman north. Nator. They y nt have more Foreign Policy experience. Thats the most important job of the president. Do you think donald trump is ready to be president . Is the same as being a Real Estate Developer and on national security, he hasnt shown to date a deep level of depth upon those issues. Reporter today for the most part the candidates are prepping for tomorrow nights debate which will happen right here, and coming so close to the New Hampshire primary. May be the highest stakes debate yet. Amy. Oh, yes, jojokarl, we cannot wait. Someone else counting the days, Martha Raddatz, coanchoring the debate with david muir. The excitement is building with just hours to. The excitement is building. Its great to be back at st. Anselm college, where we were with the democrats in december and all those republics on stage, everybody looking for momentum and there is one thing that i caca absolutely guarantee, amy, there will be heated exchanges, everybody, everybody wants to survive this debate and move forward, but it may be the last chance for some. Amy. All rigig, martha, and that tomorrow, moderated by Martha Raddatz and world news tonight anchor david muir that starts at 8 00 p. M. , 7 00 central right here on abc. George. Thanks, amy. Here nowowith a woman who knows something about debate, megyn kelly, anchor of the kelly file on fox news. Welcome to gma. You saw martha there. Any advice for her . Stand tall. Stay tough and have your facts at the ready. She doesnt needed a vice from me, however. Of course, you famously tangled with donald trump back in august and he h h some tough things to say about you after some tough questions, called you a lightweight, unprofessional. Tried to get you taken off the second debate and i was just wondering what that was like for you. Reporters arent used to being the story. T tt was highly pleasant. I enjoyed thatat no, it was bizarre because i became the story. He was so very focused on me that i became the story and, you know, you never want to be the story when youre a news person. You want to be covering the story so it was like an alice through the Looking Glass experience. Any regrets at all . Anything you could have done i still think it was a great question. I stand by every q qstion i asked him and he was not the only one who had tough questions. He was the only one, however, who complained. It comes with the territory but i was surprised to see Hillary Clinton speaking out talking about you yesterday in People Magazine and says the internet hasasecome a refuge for vile commentary, some reserved just for women. Do you think thats right . Yes, i do. Thats the problem w wh, you know, language like bimbo and so on because it gins up other comments along those lines which is diminishing to not just the woman being attacked but women in general so hopefully we can elevate the level of debate. Well, well have that tomorrow night on abc right here. Im wondering what you make of the race. Of course, youve talked to just about all the candidates on the kelly file. What we see coming out of iowa marco rubio moving up. And now hes got a big target on his back and all these other sort of establishment leaning candidates deny theyeye coordinating but clearly they emerged from iowa as the guy at the top of it. This is it. New hampshire is their lastditch effort realistically. Theyre under pressure from their donor, jeb bush and others jeb bush made a call to chris christie. They deny theyre coordinating but the facts seem pretty obvious. Theyre gunning for rubio. Only one of those four is likely to make it out of New Hampshire. Right now its obviously trump, cruz and somebody else who is going to be gunning for those two and the question out of iowa was who would it be . You know, jebs poll numbers werent very good. Wasnt expected to do well in iowa but neither was rubio and suddenly he comes with this third place finish thats almost a second place finish and hes got the momentum and these other guys perceive accurately t tt hes a threat. s the boy in the bubble. Whatever christie said about him hes the one. They are going to be gunning for him. You have another debate on march 3rd coming out of tuesday. W many candidates do you think are left by then. Thats a good question. The bigger question in my mind whether donald trump will be at that one. He hasnt committed but he will show up at that one which is great because brett, chris and i will be moderating it and we will move our questions from the last debate over to this debate. Hope i get a chaps chance to ask them. Can you share one . Oh, god, no. You have to tune in march 3rd. Meanwhile, we did see last night pretty feisty debate between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. Looks like hes going to take New Hampshire. Still has a a etty big lead right there. That could be a long slog. Thats right. What do you think . You used to be in politics. New hampshire, how important is New Hampshire do you think on the democratic and republican side because, you know, the people who know what theyre talking about saits less important on the dem side. Because Bernie Sanders is from vermont. Hell get it. A lot are expecting him to win. He were upset there i think that would be game over. It seems to me like some sort of mirage. If you look at clintons long haul shes the favorite in every state after New Hampshire and so it almost feels like a bit of media magic people are b blding this up into something. Sanders he has little chance in the remaining stat so its fun to watch and speculate aut. Now on the gop side, its a real ce. D i think theres gegeine mystery about who is going to get that nomination right now in no one knows right now. Thanks for coming on. Megyn kelly. Thanks for having me. Over to amy. A big headline on zika. Concerns about that virus growing right here in the u. S. Much. Breaking new details about that plane nearly blown out of the sky in africa. Investigators belilie they have found explosive residue on the plane and officials tell abc news they are looking at isis in the african terror group al shabaab. David kerley has the latest. Reporter overnight more suggestions that that gaping hole in this jet leading to depressurization and oxygen masks dangling with the wind was likely caused by a bomb and u. S. Urces are trying to o termine if isis or the terrorist group in somalia is responsible. The detonation was just after takeoff at 11,000 feet. Two passengers hurt and its believed one person may have been sucked out of the a321 jetliner. The head of the airline says investigators found residue which they believe are traces of explosives. Its also been revealed 70 of the 74 passengers on board were originally booked on a turkish air flight which was canceled. Turkey is involved in the fight against isis. Device got on board according to our sources, but somalia is s dangerous placac probably just get on the airplane so in a place like somalia where theres no real government, its awfully easy to get a bomb on board. Suspended flights while the investigation into the explosion continues. One other unusual note on this case, there has been no claim of responsibility and terrorist groups like ththe possibly for incidents like this, george. That is strange. Thanks very much. We want to get back out to robin in San Francisco with that big headline about the big game. Bin. Lara, there is so much excitement as you know here for the super bowl and, of course, the halftime show, coldplay, they told us theyre already teaming up with bebence. We knew that but theyre promising big surprises. Abcs ryan smith has that. Reporter coldplay and queen collaborators taking center stage on the biggest weekend of the year. Bubuthis morning, a super mystery from the super bowl. Who will be the other global superstars joining the gents on stage. We wanted to make it about togetherness and acceptance anan caught the right guests. Some of their biggest hits feature collaborators so, for example, hes done songs with rihanna, with jay z, with kanye west. Reporter chris martin keeping mum only revealing they will honor halftime shows of years past. We watched all the other halftime shows and i think well celebrate those and hopepelly make a show as memorable as some of our favorites. Youre going to hear me roar reporter memorable as in laststears katy perry roaoang alongside left and right shark and surprise guest missy elliott. Their 12 minutes on stage will be paradise. For Good Morning America, ryan smith, abc news, San Francisco.
