realtor for four years. pamela meyer of denver home navigators joins us today, thanks for being here. thank you for having me. rso, why is a senior move different r than just a regular move? p well, a lot of times, people have been in their home r for 20 or more years. p it is a -- it's not the bigger, better house, it is p what do we want in this next phase. v mmhmm. p people move both for health reasons, pfor financial reasons, sometimes they move just because p they're tired of cleaning four bedrooms. right. or five bedrooms. p some people do it younger now, because they want p to lock and leave. they want to travel more. and some people just are like, p okay, i'm ready for not mowing, not shoveling, but it's emotional. sure. p a senior move, p but it's really not so much a senior move, is it? no. it's really more just the plifestyle change. which for some people, happens pbefore 60. it happens before you -- when your kids some are just off to college, and we're done. yep. we don't want them to move back. p or we want just enough room for them to come and visit. p but not make their home there again. p all right. so how should we refer to this then, p keep referring to it as p something else. a right -- i like that, because i can see myself doing p that when my kids go off to college. rso, let's talk about the demographic then, p of the rightsize movers. what are they looking for? p a lot of times, people think ahead. p i know for myself, i can do the stairs all day long right now. right. p but if i were to make a move, i would make sure p i had main floor master, main floor laundry. so that if something happened, p be it temporary or permanent, i would be able to plive there. i wouldn't be forced into another move. pall right. are there issues that people have to deal with p when making these moves? other than stairs and wanting everything on the same floor? they usually have to get rid of a fair amount of stuff. okay, sure. yeah. p because we all are a little overstuffed. p we have more stuff come in than leave when we've p been in our homes for a long period of time. p a lot of times we store things thinking our children p will want them and come to find out later yeah, maybe not so much. right. p yeah no, that makes a lot of sense. p you know, with people wanting, again, they want to p give things away to family members, right? yes. p or maybe friends that -- that have in the past p maybe commented, like, i like that piece of furniture. exactly. pand so instead of waiting until, you know, death they're doing it ahead of time. doing it ahead of time. p yeah, well that makes a lot of sense. r how do you address the differences really from p people that want to make these moves early por maybe have questions, because i'm sure you're p dealing not only with people that want to make moves, but their family members too. p right. actually, i deal both with people who are p sure. we call it moving mom and dad. p communication are also different. so, it is an education process. p and people start that education probably six months rto two years before they actually pull the trigger. great point. that go into this, p and you do have to plan and working with a professional p you through the process, p to ask and you can help them there. yes. get there. p so, thank you so much for being here. pi'm gonna tell people how to get a hold of you. p and they really do need to call you up there p when they're looking to make this move. so, thanks so much. thank you. if you're a senior looking to make a late in life move, pamela
