the 27-year-old victim was freed days after he was taken from lakewood. >> we don't see many kidnaps. they're very rare. particularly ransom kidnappings. >> reporter: it began last week with the report of a customer du the 31st the future suspect believed to be the planner remains at large. >> reporter: after one of the kidnappers grabbed the ransom money, he checked to see if the money was real. and if there was a tracking device with it. shortly after that the three were captured. a developing story where a man with a knife carjacked a driver and quickly crashed. so he stole another and still on the run tonight. andrea flores this all went down, right in the middle of the day! >> reporter: that's right. it all happened in less than a mile of this stretch. >> i was shopping to get a birthday present. and i guess i was interrupt the. >> reporte was cut short. this man was trying to steal a vehicle at this best buy. he attempted to stab an onlooker who called police before take off across the street. he carjacked the comiefr of this van at >> i hit my head. really dizzy afterward. and shook up. >> reporter: after processing, the suspect dumped the stolen van and fled to a nearby mcdonald's parking lot where he stole a 2015 white dodge pickup and drove off. >> i just had a feeling he was either inebriated or on drug to be driving so fast. >> reporter: the suspect is described as a white or hispanic male, 6'0", 150 pounds with a dark-colored mohawk. her biggest concern is shopping for her daughter's birthday. >> i don't know what i'm gonna do. [ laughter ] >> reporter: that suspect was last seen heading westbound here a couple is facing felony charges accused of abusing their teenaged son. that 17-year-old boy weighed only 88 pounds when he got to the hospital, with one doctor saying he looked like a concentration camp survivor. the boy is blind and autistic. police say he was surviving on seven to nine sodas per day and 500 calories of crackers and chips. investigators say they too are struggling with the case. >> we're human as well. like this. even as a police officer. >> the parents claim they thought their son had the flu and blamed his dangerously low weight on having skinny relatives and knowing a picky eater -- being a picky eater. a customer at main street station was stabbed in the neck in what appears to be a random anymore information about the person in custody. new developments in the case we've been following since december. a former valley school bus driver who rolled a bus pleaded guilty to careless driver. five students were hurt. the driver told investigators she was taking prescription drugs for fiber myalgia. you can't wait for the new season to start! >> broncos take on the panthers tomorrow night. michael, super bowl rematches is that right?
