one of denver's largest communities is celebrating half a century. [ chanting ] >> reporter: in the northeast corn error of diverse -- corner of denver sits a community full of pride. >> they live out here and they go to school out here. >> reporter: also among the most diverse neighborhoods in the city. >> our community predominantly has been people of color from the beginning. and it continues to be so today. >> reporter: this year makes 50 years developed, and the community is marking the anniversary with a celebration of diversity. music, vendors and games, a neighborhood sometimes perceived as a crime-riddled community came together for a day filled with family fun. >> with all the crime, the violence going on, and all the things they're saying >> that's a celebration for us. >> regardless of our backgrounds, we can get along and have a beautiful community. and i think today will demonstrate that. >> reporter: that's definitely a good reason to be proud. >> the festival goes on until 8:00 tonight. hundred of cyclists hit the road in parker to help fight diab. a 20k family-friendly ride, 50k, and 100k routes. it's also a 100-mile century ride. >> this is the biggest fundraising event were in the association. all the money that is raised in colorado stays in colorado, funding 17 colorado-based diabetes researchers. >> organizers are hoping to cause. organizers seem like geniuses there, because they picked perfect weather! no record though. 29 is the record set back in 2000. out there right now, 66 degrees, west northwest wind at 17. and that's been the roughly people maker today. our weather watcher there, en schneider had just over know afrn of snow out there, tlooifb,300 feet -- 5,300 feet. and mt. warner, beautiful color. all day long, we have had moisture flowing in the mountains, a good shot this morning. it's tapered off this afternoon, but we'll see more light rain and snow in some of the northern and central mountains. no accumulations, and all the warnings have been dropped though. still winding around, it's a big strong low moving up into montana. cold front associate the with this, all the way down into texas. and we're gonna have big weather from texas to omaha here. we might even have some flooding concern down in texas with flash flooding going on. by tomorrow morning, mostly clear, even the snow and the moisture overnight tonight, cool in the high country. a lot of locations will be freezing up there, 30s and 20s, and 30s and 40s across the eastern plains. cold but not freezing for us yet in the flatlands. and highs tomorrow, 60s and 70s out east, 50s and 60s in the high country. breezy to windy during the course of the evening tonight, 40 for the overnight low downtown. 39 at the airport, tomorrow mostly sunny, and still on the cool side. 60s tomorrow. a warming trend starts in the week ahead. 76 on monday. smooth sailing tuesday, wednesday into the 80s. just a slight chance of an isolated afternoon thunderstorm but the week will be fabulous! >> grumpy meter will be low. >> i don't think we'll have road work this weekend could slow down your drive. >> reporter: arapahoe road closed till monday morning as bridge demolition continues. periodic lane closures on i-25 between orchard and dry creek. avoid the area all together if you can. if you can't, use orchard or dry creek to access across i-25. eastbound alameda closed east of santa fe. that closure in place until monday until reopens, go i-25 to 6th to access broadway. the overnight closures of federal from 67th to 70th tonight and tomorrow night as they do some bridge work along there. the rtd b-line not running this weekend. shuttle buses until monday morning. the laeftd from charlotte -- latest from charlotte, north carolina, where police just shooting that killed keith scott. >> and mourning two firefighters killed in the line of duty overnight. >> and a beautiful 65 degrees, police in north carolina released today of the confrontation with a 43-year-old black man. keith scott was killed on tuesday after officers say he refused to drop a begin. kenneth craig has the latest from charlotte. >> reporter: charlotte's police chief released dashcam and body camera video recorded during tuesday's fatal shooting of keith lamont scott. >> the spirit of transparency, you're gonna get everything that an explanation of where we stand today relative to the investigation. >> reporter: chief kirk putney said officers were attempting to arrest someone else when they saw scott with marijuana and a gun. >> he absolutely was in possession of a handgun. >> reporter: but the chief says the video released saturday does not show scott pointing a gun. [ gunfire ] >> reporter: an officer shot scott after police say he refused to drop the weapon. putney maintains acted krooptly. >> don't shoot him. don't shoot him. he has no weapon. >> reporter: scott's wife who recorded her own video on cellphone said her husband was not armed and posed no threat. the police chief told reporters he decided to release the department's footage after state officials said it would not interfere with their investigation. [ chanting ] ? ? [ music ] ? ? >> reporter: hundreds demonstrated for a fifth day themselves. >> we need to hear and see everything. >> reporter: charlotte remains under a state of emergency. two firefighters are dead after a fire in delaware. it broke out in a row of town homes early this morning. the building was fully engulfed when his crew went inside. >> the floors became very soft and brittle. and started toco a significant amount of heat and flames from the building, windows and roof. the floor fell in. four firefighters fell down into the collapse of the floor. two of those firefighters have passed away. >> those firefighters were 13 and 14-year veteran of the department. four others were injured. the laeftd on the search search for a hiker. david cook of them enemy never returned from his hikes earlier this week. a national guard helicopter look forward him yesterday while a team on the ground reported blowing snow in the area. cook is a former marine who is described as an expert mountaineer. dave aguilera in colorado's weather center. i know you were out there for the tour de cure this morning. brisk out there! >> the official temperature was in the upper 30s. once the sun came up, we got going. a lot of you hav the mountains. seems like the san juans got the brunt of this storm. pauly hannah sent in what she calls the first snowman of the season down there! a small one but enough snow to make one. around here, man! after that brisk morning, we warmed up to 71 in denver, 70 in greeley, fort collins. 68 in boulder. a cooler day, not crazy but not too bad! right now the winds are really kicking up, about 14 to region. so that is really kicking up. and that has been going on all day along with this system. all the way out into the mountains and wyoming, cheyenne 30 miles per hour. here's what's going on on the big picture. that big low is already way up here into montana and sections of the doojts. the cold front spreads down through texas. this is a huge system from mexico into canada. it crosses the country. behind it we're still getting some moisture flow, so strong we're still gonna see a little bit of snow coming into the mountains, maybe a little rain as well tonight. for us, a westerly wind is a downsloping wind. that chinook wind that warms temperatures slightly. we're seeing drying here. and partly cloudy skies. not looking for moisture in denver tonight. the next chance of moisture is several days away away. the next chance for showers and thunderstorms is with oregon today! >> trying to it. has gone downhill in the last few minutes. >> oh, no. >> we'll catch you up in a second. even without liufas, the offense has been able to keep up with oregon so far. and a much tougher opponent in his second ,, ?
