Denver Police Spent Hours at the scene collecting evidence after just clearing it about an hour ago. We know that they were firs bit before 10 00 last night. They spent a will have time in the a lot of time in the area closing off part of the intersection. One side is an apartment complex and the other side a business development. We do know one person died. Its unclear what led up to that shooting and who all may trying figure that out. It was a large crime scene as they were working to get more details on this shooting. New this morning, doctors are treating two Police Officers for a shooting in east boston. It happened as they checked out reports of a person with a gun. Doctors say both officers have critical injuries. We just learned they are out of surgery. One officer is a veteran and the other a 12year veteran of that department. Police killed the shooter who wore body armor and had an assault rifle. The fbi is now handling the investigation into an apparent bomb left in front of the nederland Police Department. Our jamie leary live from the fbi office in stapleton this morning with the very latest. First of all, any arrests . What about that . Reporter so far no arrests. But this was a really close call. Believe it or not, a Police Backpack thinking it was lost property. The device inside was active. Fortunately it didnt detonate. This is according to the fbi. The agency assumed control of this investigation just yesterday. A robot searched the backpack, removed several pieces, which so far have been sent to the forensics lab. No results yet. More than a dozen agencies responded around 1 30 we neutralizeed the device. Had it gone off, it could have impacted more than just the police. Shawn, what are you learning . Reporter well britt, we know police were here most of the night coming into the Early Morning working on this scene. We did also learn overnight this shooting turned into a homicide. Were still waiting to get a night before 10 00, when Denver Police let us know about this situation. Galena in this neighborhood splits the area so there is a Business Park on one side and apartments on the other side. It looks like the shooting happened right by those apartments. A large scene that the Police Department had to close off as they were collecting evidence. At this point we just know that one person has died. Unclear what led up to that and what started that shooting. A lot of details that Denver Police are still working on to figure out who may responsible and if that is one or more people that involved. Police say he was part of a Facebook Page called the 4th reichs official group chat. Police documents weve seen show some members in the talking about executing jewish and africanamerican people. Five of those students are now expelled. One student told us she did not expect those comments from her friends. I think they were just joking around, took it too far. She is not one of those suspended or expelled. In all, police say 15 students from five high schools were part of the group. Police say they will not face charges because they didnt find any evidence of direct threats to specific School District released a statement saying it is committed to teaching and modeling social justice and school safety. They say the device was active, but fortunately it failed to detonate. A Nederland Police detective found the bag outside the building tuesday morning. He actually picked it up and brought it inside because he thought it was lost property. When police looked inside the bag, they found suspicious items later determined to be two robots searched the backpack and removed several pieces which have been sent to the forensics lab. Doctors say the officers are out of surgery as of this morning. The shooting happened in an east Boston Neighborhood during a domestic disturbance call.
