you're picking out the silver lining as well, pointing out it's friday. sunrise will be at 7:09 this morning. we'll see a lot of sun today. let me show you the numbers. for denver today the normal is 66. the record for this date is 85. that was set more than 50 years ago. for the forecast, we have 85. that's right, we expect to at least tie the record this afternoon. much more on today's weather and your weekend forecast coming up. now let's get a check on the traffic, joe is in for joel. good morning. the northbound side of down. southbound i-25 eastbound, both sides of i-270 and westbound i- 76 are looking nice and wide open for now. i'll have your complete metro area traffic picture coming up. joe, thank you very much. the city of denver has used a rarely enforced ordinance to shut down a popular bar in denver. cold crush at 27th and larimer latest on what's happening. >> reporter: alan, good morning. we were here just a few days ago talking about a deadly shooting just outside of the bar along 27th street. now we're ending the week back outside of the bar because the city has decided to close down cold crush. they're saying it's being considered a public health risk and because of that, they need to shut down the business. this again just comes days after denver police detectives were looking at bullet holes here along 27th street, h crush bar. one man died in that shooting, and another was seriously injured. the city could file a public nuisance case. but for now the liquor license has been suspended. investigators will be looking into if there were illegal activities happening at the business. people who enjoy coming to cold crush said they felt like home here and it was a gathering place for many in the community. but others say they didn't feel >>fe in their own neighborhood. even with the police down here, you know, i've asked for help. people urinating back here. >> i know i can come to cold crush and find people that appreciate diversity and social justice and equity. >> reporter: we were unable to get in touch with the owners to comment on this decision. but the city will now have 15 days to move forward on that investigation that includes the liquor suspension which is still in place. so again for now, the bar closed. live in denver, shawn chitness, cbs4 morning news. thank you, shawn. the trump family has threatened more legal action if there is no retraction from another news outlet, this time the charge is leveled at "people" magazine. this time it's donald trump's wife making that call. meanwhile, the president and first lady are denouncing the republican date in very strong terms. >> this is not something that we can ignore. >> reporter: first lady michelle obama expressed anger comments caught on tape in 2005. >> it now seems very clear this isn't an isolated incident. it's one of countless examples of how he has treated women his whole life. >> reporter: trump is trying to beat back that view of him the best he can. calling the reports of groping and assaults fabrications. >> i never knew it would be this vile, that it would be this bad, that it vicious. >> reporter: melania trump tweeted a copy of a letter to the editor in chief. the letter doesn't take issue with the allegations of assault, but with the reporter's claim she bumped into melania outside trump tower a few months later and the conversation that followed. the letter claims the two never spoke and was never friendly. also thursday "the new york times" refused another call for "nothing in our article has had the slightest effect on the reputation at that mr. trump, through his own words and actions, has already created for himself." meanwhile, amid trump's plummeting poll numbers, republican lawmakers are trying to stem their losses. but president obama isn't letting former trump supports distance themselves too far from him. >> at the 11th hour you withdraw your nomination?
