breaking news this morning out of central trying to find survivors after a deadly earthquake. this is some of the or it. this was a 6.2 magnitude earth kwat that hit central italy at about 3:30 in the morn -- -- earthquake. as daylight hits, citizen in the rome search through the rubble. 37 people are reported dead and that number is likely increasing throughout the day. tina krauss reports this morning. >> reporter: hours after the earthquake hit, rescue teams led this man away from the did he have administration. crews carried a little girl to safety. frantic residents and emergency workers used buckets,ld the debris. this rescue worker said we need chain saws and jacks to remove beams. the u.s. geological survey says the magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck at 3:30 in the morning while most italians were asleep. several aftershocks followed. this woman says the whole ceiling fell and she put a hit. the hardest hit are in the central mountains of italy. the mayor of one town san diego a family four was trapped under a collapsed building with no signs of life while the mayor said "the town isn't here anymore" he made a plea for more help to clear the streets and help the injured. this family dog was pulled from a small small in home. rescuers are still digging hoping to find survivors. the same region of italy was hit by an earthquake back in 2009 and it claims more than 300 lives seems to be the major portion. i'm showing this right now. you can see the swat team and boulder police gathering at the intersection. they have a portion of it completely blocked off diverting traffic west towards the meadows near a church called hope boulder which was a point of interest. we know they're searching for somebody but why is completely unclear at this point in time. they're stopping traffic. they stopped up as well so quite a large scene and have been out for here several hours. right now there's little information available as this investigation is underway so we'll get more rain off throughout the day today. sometimes in the foothills and in denver and down south we'll have rain as well. by tomorrow morning you're waking up to more cloud cover and we have the
