stepsister are dead. his mother's husband accused of killing them and their des moines home sunday night. lane blames barney fraken for pulling the trigger. >> he had done things to my mom that should not have been done. but he did not understand the concept of cheating on her and expecting her to still love him. >> one in four women will be impacted by domestic violence. todd: catherine knows the numbers all too well. >> it is the leading cause of injury to women in the united states. domestic violence is about power and control. if you are leaving the relationship, you are telling the abuser he is not in control. it will become more danger. todd: it is a danger that greg lang will never forget. >> he's going to get what is coming to him. todd: iowa children and family services offices -- offers a crisis line. no problem is too big or too small for them to handle. zlielizabeth a young mother is dead and her boyfriend injured. it happened in the 600 block of 34th street near price chopper around 8:30 monday morning. police say 22-year-old -- angel perez died after being ejected from the car. the driver is and mercy medical center. the vehicle split in half after hitting a high-voltage power pole which caught some nearby trees on fire as well. >> our belief it was traveling at a high rate of speed. then it struck a telephone pole. that is what happened. it slid out of control and hit the pole. the fire started in the trees. it extinguished its mouth -- itself. elizabeth: the driver said he was being chased and gunshots were fired. police are still investigating what caused the deadly accident. a norwalk mom is robbed at gunpoint. lindsay sprawls was walking to her car in the valley west mall parking lot just after 6:00 sunday. eric: she spotted a man wearing a ski mask. within seconds he was in front of her pointing a gun. reporter: about an hour after sunset in a well lit parking lot outside a popular shopping mall, lazy sp -- lindsay's spirits one of the terrifying moments of her life. >> did not have much time to react. when i started walking towards he stepped off the curb also and started beelining towards me. reporter: she is too shaken to go on camera but tells me over the phone anthony stro pointed out what turned out to be a bb gun at her and demanded her stuff. her husband was on the phone with her listening to the confrontation. >> you don't know if you're going to suddenly feel pain. it was, i'm still really shaken. reporter: but luckily not injured. she got away with her wallet and keys to her car. they spotted her stolen suv 10 minutes later. >> always good when we catch them quite. -- them quick. he's driving the vehicle he stole. so, you can't do a lot better than that. reporter: west des moines police say in that split second, she did everything right. hurt over some money or credit cards or even your vehicle. we always advise people to just for and call the police immediately. eric: throrpe is charged with -- mall officials would not talk about the security but they tell off-duty officers patrolling the area for the upcoming shopping weekend. the weather is never more than five minutes away. >> the weather is
