Elizabeth Altoona Police and dci agents are investigating a death. A female was found dead in a home in the 1100 block of 11th avenue southeast wednesday. Mark tauscheck has the story. Mark according to the website, the staff here is committed to responsible pet ownership. According to Des Moines Police, there were 20 dogs and cats here. The city allows a maximum of six. Police say dr. Michael anderson claimed they were strays. We tried to explain it was not a stray holding facility. Mark he was also cited for failure to vaccinate after the Iowa Department of agriculture performed an inspection and determined the majority of the animals there were not vaccinated, posing a risk to other animals. I would have thought that they were properly vaccinated, which we discovered they were not. That was a surprise to me. Mark one of the dogs living here, a pit bull bit an employee from a neighboring business and on a second occasion, another dog it in employee at the animal hospital. Both women were encouraged not to report the bites, which dr. Anderson and bits. Admits. They were fearful that dog would have been euthanized because it was involved in a bite. Mark an employee at the hospital also faces charges for having nine dogs in her home, most of which did not have vaccinations or licenses. Some belonged to the clinic. Eric kcci tried to speak to dr.
