Police arrested 61yearold Robert Scarborough moments after students fled the bus in fear. He is now facing assault and child endangerment charges. Shaffer and mewes will be tried as adults on the sex abuse charges. New tonight the Polk City Police , Department Investigates a burglary at a city Maintenance Facility there. It happened overnight at the facility on northside drive. Authorities say two ford f350 super duty utility trucks were stolen. They both had city logos on them. The estimated value of the items is between 100,000 and 150,000. The Polk County Sheriffs Department is insisting in the is assisting in the event in the investigation. Steve federal authorities today finally identified a personofinterest in the Jacob Wetterling case. 52yearold Daniel Heinrich is now charged with possession of child pornography. A masked man kidnapped 11yearold Jacob Wetterling on october 22, 1989. One year ago, investigators did a thorough review of the wetterling case and took another look at heinrich. They decided to retest a 1990 a dna sample from from 1990 jacobs abduction, and it was a match. The investigators pursued a number of investigative avenues with regard to danny heinrich. They include the dna analysis of clothing items which were in evidence from a Sexual Assault of a young male which took place in cold spring, minnesota approximately nine months before the Jacob Wetterling abduction. Steve noreen gosch of west des moines, whos son johnny disappeared in 1982, says its certainly a ray of hope for the wetterlings, but they understand how it works. Most parents after a few years everything that comes out on a case with very cautious optimism. You cant allow yourself to just go over the edge thinking this is it, this is it because you might be severely disappointed. Steve heinrich repeatedly denied his involvement 26 years ago and hes doing it now. Investigators stress that the wetterling case is still open and heinrich is not yet charged in connection with it.
