todd: senator sanders in iowa today. he held a town hall meeting in oskaloosa. a new monmouth university poll shows him second to hillary clinton with 21%, biden garnering 70%. again, he has not yet joined the -- garnering 17%. again, he has not yet joined the race. stacey: we'll be watching tomorrow for a potential shake-up in the presidential race. democratic candidate jim webb is expected to make an announcement. sources say he's considering running as an independent. the former virginia senator complained he didn't get enough time to speak during last week's debate. in a recent cbs national poll he has just 2% support. on the republican side, donald trump is still on top of the polls. he spoke to a record crowd of more than 7900 people in anderson, south carolina tonight. trump is back in iowa wednesday. his make america great again rally is set for 6:00 p.m. in burlington. todd: still no verdict in the pete polson trial. polson says he was high on meth and doesn't remember shooting at three people in pleasant hill, injuring two of them. prosecutors say everyone who met with polson after the shooting say there were no signs he was on drugs. he is facing several charges, including 3 counts of attempted murder. the federal trial of two former ron paul 2012 aides also continues. the case could go to jury tomorrow. former state senator kent sorenson testified friday that dmitri kesari gave his wife a check for $25,000. but then told sorenson not to cash it. kesari told him to bill a company called ict for payment which would then pay sorenson's company grassroots strategy. you can count on kcci for complete coverage of both trials. right now, 28-year-old christina williamson awaits sentencing. she pleaded guilty to 2 charges of child endangerment today. the pleasant hill woman was listed as a non-registered in-home daycare provider when police investigated a claim against her. williamson is not being held but faces as much as 7 years in prison. sentencing is december 8. stacey: new at 10:00, the number of abortions in iowa is on a steep decline. new statistics show abortions are down by more than 40% over the last 8 years. kcci's jason rantala is live in studio with reaction here in des moines. jason r: the iowa department of public health says the number of abortions went from 6700 in 2006 to just over 4000 in 2014. as for why, it depends who you ask. from roadside protests to vocal politicians -- >> >> how could anyone defend the practices of planned parenthood?
