Its very windy and pretty cold. This wind chill is really picking up. Its about 30 degrees but it feels cooler. You can see the traffic is moving pretty standard, what you typically see out here. We are seeing a pretty heavy band set up shop north of jewel. You can see pocahontas, clarion as well. Already picking up and it just opened a lot of locations underneath that line picking up at least in accumulation or a dusting on the ground. It will continue to ramp up as we head into the afternoon. The snowfall rates associated with this line and more developing to the south increase. You can see a letter p and green shading. Not a lot of that hitting the ground. The ground. It actually helps to cool the atmosphere as it does that. We will see this area phil and and it will fill in and it will settle. North and that continues to develop. You can take outlook out at the snow continues to fly. That will eventually be stacking up. Pretty broad in the area with the winter storm warning. Metro included in this goes all caps in northern iowa. You can see some of the counties off to the south. Winter weather advisory and even more up to the southwest. Temperatures will begin to cool even further and that will help the snow stack up other. The heaviest portion of snowfall will be in the evening hours. You can see starting around 2 00 temperatures back out into the 30s throughout the evening hours for us. This is a low that is a culprit for the snowfall. It drag the heavy batch of snow mainly through iowa and then pushes eastwards towards chicago. If you have travel plans this evening, please be safe out there. We are likely giving the snowcovered roads. Futurecast is a good handle on the situation. It pushes heavy snow through by around 9 00 p. M. We are still dealing with some will eventually be clearing out through the overnight hours. If you have travel plans saturday morning, have enough time to get the plows out into the roads off.
