" well you know, we've all had very different kind of experiences. there's haven't spent a lot and asking for big money and going to cocktail parties. but i've spent many a night in the operating room, cold, sterile place life on the line, to preserve that. you know, that's a very different kind of experience. carson's comments come questioned support for both carson and trump at a private donor event, according to audio leaked to the new york times. carson also spokokon his recent comments he may leave the g-o-p to run as an independenen "(dr. ben carson/ (r) presidential the reasons that i got into this is because i heard the frustration in people who are so tired of back room deals, of subterfuge, of dishonesty. and, you know, if that is the case then, you know, i'm out of here. now i have subsequently spoken to reince priebus. he told me those are routine meetings, they have them all the time. this was no different than any of the others. that the last thing they would do is engage in back room dealing. but, you know, the jury's out. we'll certainly be keeping a close eye on things." jessica rae: the retired brain surgeon... who was once briefly the g-o-p's front-runner... is now in fourth place. jessica rae: marco rubio says he isn't buying ted cruz's tough talk on national security. in an interview on n-b-c's "meet the press" sunday... the florida senator hammered the texas senator for opposing the u-s government's bulk phone data collection... and voting against spending bills and defense authorization acts: rubio/r-presidential candidate)"he talks tough on some of these issues, for example he's gonna carpet bomb isis but the only bill he's voted for in his time in the senate is a budget that cut defense spending. by more than barack obama proposes we cut it. he voted against the defense authorization act every year that it came up. and i assume that if he voted against it, he would veto it as president. that's the bill that funds our troops. even the iron dome for israel. so i guess my point is each time he's had to choose between strong national defense and some of the isolationist tendencies in american politics, he seems to side with the isolationist. and this is an important issue to have a debate over. it's not personal." jessica rae: cruz has resisted rubio's characterizations of him the attackck previews a theme sure to show up in c-n-n's republican primetime debate tuesday in las vegas. jessica rae: and former front-runner donald trump is speaking out about the new poll numbers... and ted cruz. he says he is more capable to run this country than the texas senator. "(jake tapper/ cnn) go for you over ted (donald trump/ (r) presidential i'm more capable, much better temperament. because i actually get along with people much better than he does. you know, people don't know that about me. i actually have a great relationship with people. in fact, i was criticized at the beginning cause i get along with democrats, liberals, and republicans, and conservatives. i get along with everybody." jessicicrae: the donaldldlso mitted his muslim friends do not support his proposal to ban muslim immigration to the u-s... but he says they're glad he's discussing islamic fundamentalism. "(donald trump/r- presidential candidate) "when my friends call me up, and they call me up very strongly, and they say -- these are muslims -- and they say, 'it's something, donald, that has to be talked about." jessica rae: trump said he's been told he's doing muslims quote... a favor... and his relationship with the muslim commmmity "is excellent." t according to an n-b-c news-wall street journal poll... a majority of u-s adults oppose trump's plan to ban all muslims from entering the country jessica rae: and here's your sneak peak of tomorrow's there are nine podiums for the prime-time debate -- donald trump is front and center... flanked by his newest...closest rival ted cruz... and also ben carson. also on the main stage.... marco rubio and jeb bush....john kasich....chris christie....carly fiorina and rand paul. for the first round of debates... we'll see mike huckabee...rick santorum...lindsay graham...and georgegeataki face offff that starts atatix p-m...tuesday on c-n-n. jessica rae: and on the other side of the aisle... democratic presidential candidate bernie sanders wrapped up a two day swing through iowa yesterday... with a series of events in waterloo. he began his day....at a town hall meeting... he later held a meet and geeet at mount carmel baptist church... where he spoke to the congregation about income inequality. and on saturday... sanders spent a little over an hour talking to the crowd at clinton middle school about a wide range of issues. some of his main priorities are raising the minimum wage to 15-dollars... free tuition at public universities and extending maternity leave. he also discussed american government from corporate america to everyday people. (bernie sanders) what this campaign is about is asking millions of people, many of whom by the way have given up on the political process to come back in and to say that in our great country, our government belongs to all of the people and not just a handful of billionaires." jessica rae: sanders headed to dubuque iowa shortly after speaking in clinton. this swing through the stste is a chance for sandererto rally votersrsn a state where he's fallen behind contender hillary clinton in the polls. jessica rae: nebraska voters will have a new way to update their registrations online. here's susan risinger with the details.
