Jenna Governor Dennis Daugaard has vetoed a controversial bill that passed the south dakota legislature. Daugaard refused to sign a bill that wouldve required transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms matching their sex at birth. The proposed law caused a lot of controversy, especially among the lgbtq community. Been the first law of its kind in the us. Jenna the south Dakota Senate has passed a measure to raise teacher pay. The proposed half cent sales tax statewide, is aimed at aiding the governors plan to improve south dakotas teacher salaries. Theyre currently the lowest in the nation.
