Reduce our trade deficit substantially, promote fairness and reciprocity and unlock opportunities for growth. In the United States these deals are a game changer for our farmers and our ranchers. We love our farmers and our ranchers. We have been working hard on this. Providing them with significantly enhanced access with a critical foreign market. In a moment ill be honoring a lot of the folks in the room that are here with us from farm country. Ranch country. And were going to be witnessing a historic signing by ambassador lightheiser, ambassador from japan. Neil were going to continue monitoring the president s remarks on signing a deal with japan. This does not need congressional approval. If he touches on other developments, whats going on in syria and the troop commitments, well let you know as well as the appearance of other whistle blowers who could be coming forward. Up close and personal as we lead is the president s taxes for years. It has been democrats holy grail. As a candidate, donald trump refused to release them, he saw no reasons to release them. Each time and every time and all for naught until today until manhattans District Attorney cyrus vance jr. Demanded eight years of them then a federal judge in new york ruling today that the president had to release them. And fast. So he ordered them turned over immediately only to be quashed by himself really and an Appeals Court which ruled that there was no need to rush this. That order is now on hold according to a legal judge from the Second Circuit court of appeals because of the unique issues raised by this appeal. That, my friends, is likely the legal understatement of the century. Welcome. Im neil cavuto and this is your world where subpoenas are flying, and the president of the United States is no doubt finding it unrelenting the demand for taxes. Getting their hands on those tax documents, theyre convinced will reveal the inner workings of Donald Trumps financial empire and the Financial Connections and relationships so pivotal to that empire. They argue, and have for years that the president has a responsibility to share this because, well, all modern president s and those who sought to be president have. President trump and his lawyers say no. That this is politics and the fight over executive privilege that could have widespread consequences for years to come. Kentucky republican senator rand paul on that and the president s syria policy in a moment. First to john roberts at the white house on the highstakes battle over these taxes. John. Neil, good afternoon to you. So many people going after the president s tax returns, not just the manhattan District Attorney but at least several congressional captains. You had new york state pass a law that would require the president to disclose his tax returns and then you had the state of california which made it a law which got struck down that in order to appear on the california primary president ial ballot a candidate had to release their tax returns, but now this personality victory for the president in the Second Circuit court of appeals and this one turned around so fast because it was that district judge, federal judge in new york city who said the president s Accounting Firm had to turn over eight years of the president s tax returns. His attorneys ran to the Second Circuit court of appeals and within a couple of hours a stay of that order had been issued. This is not yet the end of it, but jay sekulow, the president s attorney saying we are very pleased that the u. S. Court of appeals for the Second Circuit has issued a stay of the subpoena by the District Attorney cy vance. The second case of the president s tax returns that is tied up in the Second Circuit court of appeals and the president today on twitter taking aim at democrat dids for continuing to try to at democrats for trying to pry loose his tax returns. Again, this is not the end of it because this is only a temporary stay. The case still has to be determined on the merits. But neil, an important point, even if the president were to lose at the Second Circuit or if it goes on to the Supreme Court and the president loses there, those tax returns may never become public because the manhattan d. A. Cannot release them publicly. It can, however, use them to build cases so maybe some of that information may come out in terms of a case that it builds but that may not be the holy grail of getting the president s tax returns in a form where they can be made public which so many other people have tried to do. Neil. Neil john roberts. Judge Andrew Napolitano on the legal implications. A federal judge in new york issued a 75page early this morning pretty much obliterated the president s arguments and the president had argued for a broad, unlimited immunity from all civil and criminal intrusion into his world while hes still a sitting president and the judge here in new york, judge marrero pointed out in a famous case, jones versus clinton, the Supreme Court of the United States unanimously said the president does not enjoy that kind of immunity. He pointed out a federal statute, the antiinjunction act which prevents federal judges from interfering with state prosecutions. Is this the witch hunt that the president says it is or is it a legitimate prosecution run by the District Attorney here in new york city . Who knows. It has the earmarks of a legitimate prosecution. It is based upon information that his office received of criminal behavior by his former lawyer. Neil what would the tax return give them that we dont know . I dont know but this is the type of material that investigators almost always get when they are investigating a whitecollar crime. Neil what if its the sitting president of the United States . There is no precedent for prosecutors looking for the tax returns of a sitting president from the years before he was the president. So the stay issued by the Second Circuit court of appeals this afternoon, late this morning is what we call an administrative stay. Its not on the merits, its just lets hold off until we can find a panel of three judges to receive the documents and theyll decide on it. It is i chuckle when you said the understatement of the century. It is the understatement of the century. How intrusive can a State Government be into the private dealings of a president of the United States . Is it for political reasons or is it for bona fide Law Enforcement . Neil if you get to vances office its just a matter of time that the whole world learns about it . It is a fear, it would be a crime for anybody to leak it under these circumstances. The District Attorney wants to share them with the grand jury which is 23 people sitting in lower manhattan. It would be a crime for any of them or any of the people in the process of any of them getting it to leak. Neil rand paul on the phone. The Kentucky Republican joins us. Senator, what do you make of this issue of the taxes and getting them in prosecutors hands . Our tax code relies on anonymity. Part of our tax code and part of the socalled privacy of it is that nobody your neighbors, people you go to church with, people you see at the drug store dont get to know your income and your deductions. Its private. They check it to make sure youre paying your taxes but its been anonymous so i think this is a real serious breach to the nature of our tax code and once you do it to one person were going to do it to everybody. I think its a rotten thing to do and i think it sets us way back on people believing that their finances are private and not going to be displayed to the public. Neil when you were running for president , senator, you released all that info. Virtually every candidate did. Democrats have. On that level alone should this be something that is . I never released mine but i could tell you that mine would be about three pages compared to about three million pages for donald trump so mine is a little less complicated. Neil your senate forms get into some of the broad aspects that we know very little about the president. We had to fill out forms similar to the president s forms to run for president so hes put down in cern parameters of his wealth and in certain parameters. Everybody in the country knows he didnt release his tax returns and they could have voted against him if it was a big deal but part of the way our tax system works is for everybodys benefit and thats to keep it private so im very much against his not because i care whats in them or not in them. Im very much against it because i dont think we should destroy the anonymous nature of our tax code. Neil to switch gears to the president s move on syria today, senator, withdrawing troops from Northern Syria as we see the turks come in. A lot of people in your own party, Lindsey Graham, marco rubio, and on and on say its a bad move, it emboldens our enemies. Sounded like you listed the neocon caucus. I think President Trump realizes what president reagan recognized, unfortunately too late in beirut leaving 300 or 400 people in an area that are vulnerable could lead to catastrophe but doesnt do anything to secure our National Security. Im of the belief go big or go home. 200 or 300 people are a tripwire to get us drawn into something and a tragedy, probably, but they arent enough to do anything in fact, there may be dozens of people the at a time, maybe a dozen here, a dozen there. They arent enough to deter anything and part of the resolution has to be the people that live over there. Turks live there. The syrians live there. They have come to an agreement. There are about three million Syrian Refugees in turkey. Theyre going to try to get some of those people back into syria and they have to have a zone where they can control that, and i think that the best answer is that we dont have all the answers and the people who live there are always going to have more of a stake in the game and we need to not think that its always the u. S. s responsibility to fight every war and find every peace. We havent been able to find peace in 18 years in afghanistan. I dont think were going to find peace in syria but i think a couple hundred people there is certainly a tripwire for a bigger war or for a calamity for our soldiers. Neil Lindsey Graham says its a calamity for abandoning the kurds. Nikki haley said we must have the backs of our allies. What do you say . I think after world one one we could have done a better job drawing these lines. There is a kurdish autonomous region for people in iraq and thats where they could live if they want to have more autonomy but it may be unrealistic to think that turkey is going to give up region for the kurds. Some say this will force the kurds to decide who their allies are. Its definitely not turkish allies. Do they have more in common with syria and could there be a unification of causes. This chaos was fed by outside intervention. The turks got involved. We got involved. The qataris. The saudis. These people got involved in the Syrian Civil War and people died and millions displaced. The idea of regime change. This is what President Trump is so right about. Regime change hasnt worked. Its led to chaos and the rise of isis came in the chaos of hussein being toppled and also the chaos of hassads regime being made marginal. Neil rand paul joining us on the phone. Were monitoring the president talking about an agreement with japan that does not require congressional approval. The dow down about 95 points today. Well spell that out as well. After this. Ar insurance, so you only pay for what you need. I wish i could shake your hand. Granted. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. The o. Is more horsepower. Since verizon innovative learning, students have hardware, connectivity, and quality curriculum. The jobs of tomorrow will involve technology. Now students are truly hopeful for what they may achieve. Neil still monitoring the president. Meanwhile, the impeachment efforts ramping up after a second whistle blower has come forward reportedly with firsthand knowledge of that ukraine call. With us former federal prosecutor fred disi. Fred, let me start with you on this idea that this whistle blower and maybe others, we hear reports of others closer to the fire or the details more than the first. What do you make of that . The hallmark of a whistle blower is that the individual has firsthand knowledge about what was going on. The first whistle blower wasnt based on firsthand knowledge. Generally when a whistle blower blows a whistle on something and they say its government money they get a portion of that money which doesnt apply here but the rules are you have to have information that other people have to be a whistle blower. If there is another person that had firsthand knowledge that would have more credibility than the first one. Neil where is this going . Im not sure the second whistle blower makes a difference given the fact we have a transcript of this call and the voters who are looking at this and saying we are going to stick with the president even though they might not be happy with what the president said on that call are concerned about the federal agencies potentially being politicized and i dont think that those deepstate concerns are going to be allaid by a are going to be allayed by a second whistle blower. We can look at the transcript and judge for ourselves. Neil the democrats might already have the votes in the house to proceed with impeachment but nancy pelosi is not sure that there are the 218 votes there. I think there are the votes there. Based on what im hearing from some people in the hill the events of last week have really started to swing people more in favor of impeachment especially on the house side. Were even seeing the president s allies, people that have been his staunch defenders coming out against many of his actions even today which isnt related to the impeachment but his decision to pull troops out of syria. I just think that sort of reflects where we are with this president , the fact that people are saying enough is enough, what were seeing from him is frankly becoming more and more inhinged and is really troubling because he clearly is acting in a way that is rubbing people the wrong way, and i dont know if hes not listening to advisors or what but its very problematic and were seeing his support continue to languish because of it and in fact his support is dropping. Neil depending on the poll its hard to look at one way or another, things are holding up by and large for him but fred, one thing that kevin mentioned there is weight that even though the Democratic House would probably vote for impeachment as things stand now, it may be too early to say if it ever got that far but going nowhere in the senate. We have seen concerns raised about the president s phone call and the china thing that more are expressing publicly their concerns. Where do you think that goes as a prosecutor . Do you think that makes a difference . In other words, when your own side raises hackles . No. Because the bottom line is as a prosecutor, if youre going to impeach the question is whats the evidence . Whats the crime . Whats the evidence that supports that crime . If it can be spun another way nobody would indict jimmy carter if he called people around the world and said i dont like what you are doing in human rights, im going to hold up our aid to you. Neil thats different than citing a potential opponent in the next election. Thats the democrats spin but if hes saying to you i need to fight corruption neil republicans are saying. I understand that but let me get back to your original question which there are policy differences between people like mitt romney and other people. There are people who believe in it and a lot of people tired of seeing american soldiers die on foreign soil so they dont like him you dont like the guy, three you get to vote. Neil after a deadly mass shooting in dayton, ohio, governor dewine promising to do something about it. The governor is next. To present to you today. [son] who are you talking to . That was easy glad i could help. At xfinity, were here to make life simple. Easy. Awesome. So come ask, shop, discover at your xfinity store today. Neil remember this . We are here tonight. Neil that was right after a mass shooting in dayton, ohio, two months ago. Residents demanding action on guns from the new Ohio Governor mike dewine. Today the governor making good on that. He joins us now with a plan. Ohio governor mike dewine. Governor, thank you for taking the time. Good to be with you. Thank you. Neil this plan has the support of democrats and republicans alike. More democrats, i guess, at this stage. Spell it out for me. Well, we think this will get bipartisan support. Weve taken two months, really, to consult with people and get this right. One thing it does in regard to the kind of ageold problem where there is someone i saw this as a prosecutor. I have seen this as attorney general. You have someone in the community and they have a Mental Health problem or an addiction problem or theyre an alcoholic, theyve got a bunch of guns, theyre a ticking time bomb and the family is scared to death. I have seen cases where families didnt know what to do. Nothing could be done about that person. We provide a system where the family can go to the police. The police then can what we call pinkslip that person in ohio, take them in, have them evaluated and its a system that will work because it focuses on getting that person help and also then with due process, being able to get a court order so after that person is already in the hospital then the police can go back and seize the guns if its proven in court that this person is a threat to themselves or a threat to society, so thats number one. Neil would this have prevented the shooting sometime back in dayton . We dont really know but there is a number of cases i can think of that i have been involved with that it certainly might have. I think the real question is will this save lives. And each and every one of the parts we have put forward i am convinced will save lives and make us safer in our communities. We put a lot of emphasis also on the Mental Health area. Were doing that through our budget. Giving the schools more money in regard to having Mental Health counseling for young people who are having problems. Many times what we have seen is people who commit these violent acts, mass shootings, gave off many warnings in the past. So that will help in that area. Something else were doing with this bill is addressing a problem thats been related to me by Law Enforcement, particularly, in our cities and a number of our mayors and that is you get someone who is not supposed to have a gun anyway. Theyve committed a violent offense. Which in ohio means theyre not permitted to have a gun, theyre under disability, they cant have a gun yet theyre found again in possession of a gun, so we increased the penalties in regard to that significantly. We think thats going to save lives on our streets. We just had yesterday it was reported in cleveland a young child was shot just at random in the neighborhood. And my guess is that when we drill down on that and find that individual the odds are is that he has had a previous conviction of a violent offense. He had no business having a gun anyway. Neil a lot of them do get guns anyway, governor, a lot of them get guns anyway quite legally, right . A lot of them get them illegally too but what were going to do as far as legally getting guns, if youre not supposed to have a gun and you have committed a violent offense in ohio, youre not allowed, obviously, to get a gun. One thing is to make sure the criminal background checks are done correctly and are done appropriately. The other thing that we are doing is i think kind of unique because i think it satisfies the concerns raised by our Second Amendment proponents and we all should be Second Amendment proponents but it satisfies them, and what it says is that if you are going to sell a gun and you are selling it to your brother or someone you know, you should be pretty safe in doing that. Ohio law currently provides a penalty if you sell a gun to someone who is under disability. What we provide in this law is kind of a safe haven, and if you sell a gun and you are selling it to someone who is a total stranger and you dont know who they are you can now be able to go to the sheriff. Have a background check run on that person and that person can get a background check run on themselves and that will be a certificate and that will be what well call a safe harbor and will stop you from being prosecuted from selling a gun to someone who should not have it. So we think this is a bill that will work. It will save lives. Mr. Tekts the Second Amendment. Neil well watch it protects the Second Amendment. Neil you have kept your promise. Governor dewine, thank you very much. Thank you. Neil were continuing to monitor the president speaking on this trade deal with japan. Other issues could come up. Can we dip into this . I dont blame you one bit. I blame the people who ran this country to allow that to happen, and they understand that but we dont let that happen any more. So well see what happens. Were going to have a very important meeting and they have their top people coming in and i have my top people doing the job. If i dont think theyre doing a good job ill fire them and go over and take their place. Yeah, please. Reporter in your view the china trade negotiations in any way . We would like to see a very humane solution to that. I hope thats going to happen. Hong kong is very important as a world hub, not just for china but for the world and you have great people over there. You see theyre flying the american flags. They even have signs make china great again. Make hong kong great again. Im saying get those signs. They have tremendous signage and a tremendous spirit for our country. A lot of american flags. A lot of trump signs. I would just like to see a humane deal worked out and i think president xi has the ability to do it. I have sort of said that i think if he met hes a very convincing man and i think if he met with some of the leaders, that could be one problem. You dont seem to have a specific leader of the group, but i really think they can do something. We just want to see a humane solution. Reporter protester in the course of these negotiations . No, i didnt but i do say that we are negotiating. If anything happened bad, i think that would be a very bad thing for the negotiation. I think politically it would be very tough maybe for us and maybe for some others and maybe for him. But no, i think that they have to do that in a peaceful manner. I will say, the first time i saw it, if you looked a number of months ago i saw two Million People. I have never seen anything like it. We talk about crowd size. That was serious crowd size. The crowd size is much smaller now. Maybe they can work out something amicable. Reporter a partial trade deal with china. A very good question. I think its not what we prefer at all. They are starting to buy a lot of our agriculture products. Theyre coming in on pork very strong, in particular, but on other products that so i dont know if you call that a partial. We dont have an agreement. My inclination is to get a big deal. Weve come this far. Were doing well. The fact that theyve done what theyve done with their currency, the devaluation has not increased prices it doesnt mean in all cases that happens, in the case of china that hasnt happened and they put a lot of money into their goods. They want to keep their people working. I understand that very well. But i think that we just have to see what happens. I would much prefer a big deal and i think thats what were shooting for. Can something happen . I guess. Maybe. Who knows. But i guess its unlikely. Reporter syria. On withdrawing forces in syria. Why are you siding with an authoritarian leader and not our kurdish allies . Im not siding with anybody. Syria was supposed to be a shortterm hit. Just a very shortterm hit and we were supposed to be in and out. That was many, many years ago and we only have 50 people in that area. Thats a small sector. I dont want those 50 people hurt or killed or anything. I dont want anything bad to happen to our people and i told that to president erdogan. I said dont let any of our people get hurt. Big trouble. A couple of things. I think there is a lot of pressure on turkey. They have been fighting with the p. K. K. For many years. Theyre natural enemies. If you read today a couple of reports saying when president obama started this whole thing, as you know it was started by president obama he created a natural war with turkey and their longtime enemy, p. K. K. And theyre still there and theyre still hating each other beyond anybodys belief. But i have told turkey that if they do anything outside of what we would think is humane, to use the word a second time we talk about hong kong. We talk about this. They could suffer the wrath of an extremely decimated economy. And i have done it once. I did it with brunson. They wouldnt get pastor brunson back and they ended up giving pastor brunson back quickly. Their currency fell at record levels and lots of other things happened, and i have a very Good Relationship with president erdogan. I will tell you this, though, we defeated isis, and when i wanted to when we were at 96 and 95 and 97 i sort of said let the other countries in the area finish it off and i was met with a lot of anger from some people in our country. I said all right, ill finish it off. I got together with our generals. I flew to iraq. We did it quickly. Far quicker than any general from here told us we could do. We have great people over there. They did it quickly. And i said to the European Countries youve got it take your isis, we have 60,000, maybe 70,000 people. That includes families. That includes wives of fighters that were killed. We have many fighters that were killed in the battles. We took it over, 100 of the caliphate. It was a mess when i came to office. Most of you would agree to that. It was a real mess. I took it over. I said what are we going to do with these 60,00070,000 people that are being held and being guarded and we cant release them and many fighters also . I said i want them to go back to germany. To france. To different European Countries from where they came. And i said tow the European Countries, i said to one of them take the people back and they said, no, no, no, we dont want them back. I said they came from germany, they came from france. Take them back. Theyre so used to the United States being a sucker, being a fool, were talking about billions and billions of dollars, youre talking about life, youre talking about so many things. So many elements. Elements of complexity. Theyve got to walk back into germany. Theyre going to go back into these countries from where they came. I said take them back. They said no. I said im going to give you another 30 days. Take them back. They kept saying no. Maybe they wont be saying no, now. I dont know. I told president erdogan its your responsibility. Who is responsible . Its really russia. Its turkey. Its iran. Its iraq. And its syria. And anybody else in the neighborhood, ok . Its not a friendly neighborhood. But these countries should do it. Now, isis is the sworn enemy of all these countries. Many of them they hate far more than they hate us and those countries hate them at the same level as we do. Theyre terrible, savage killers. I said take them back. But these countries are rich in most cases. Theyre powerful. Theyve got armies. They can do the work. But were not bringing 50, 60, 70 or even 10,000 people to Guantanamo Bay in cuba. Were not going to pay them for the next 50 years, pay to take care of them the next 50 years, we did a Great Service to the world and we did a Great Service to europe in particular where so many of these fighters came from, we said take them back and unfortunately, like nato, they take advantage. Nato, as you know, i got the secretary general and i think very loudly, the secretary general of nato said that because of what i did they have paid over 100 billion more money toward nato defense but thats still not enough. Its not enough. Not fair. Because the United States pays far too much relative, and obviously, nato affects them more. Like nato. Like trade with the European Union which is a very tough group to trade with, very tough group, almost as tough as japan, theyre a very tough group to trade with, they take advantage and i said you take them back. Were not going to do this. Were not going to put them in Guantanamo Bay and put them all over our prisons. Right now were at a position where if turkey does anything out of what they should be doing, we will hit them so hard on their economy, but when you talk about soldiers, we only had 50 soldiers in the area. I think the area its a very small area very small area but we only have 50 soldiers there. I dont want them to be in a bad or compromising position and i will tell you this. Everybody respects our country again. If we want to go in, if we have to go back for any reason because bad things happen, but wer 7,000 miles away. These isis people, whatever you want to call them, these people are right there. Theyre right there. Theyre touching many of these countries that i just named. Iran is an example. Hates isis. Isis hates iran. Iraq. You know all about that. Turkey. Syria. Let them take care of it. Let them take care of it. We want to bring our troops back home. Its been many, many years. Its been decades in many cases. We want to bring our troops back home. We want to bring our troops back home from these endless wars and were like a police force. Were not fighting. Were policing. Were not a police force. Were the greatest military force ever assembled because of what i have done over the last three years with 2. 5 trillion weve spent on our military, but were not going to be there longer ask were going to be watching turkey and we hep that them and all of the other countries including the European Union goes in and does whatever theyre supposed to do with these captured isis fighters and families. Reporter nikki haley and senator graham and senator mcconnell saying you should exercise leadership and not to do so would be reminiscent of what the Obama Administration did. Did you consult . I consulted with everybody. I always consult with everybody. If you remember, about eight months ago i talked about doing this and we kept 2,000 people there and then slowly brought them out. Once we captured isis, i didnt say i dont want to stay there the next 40 years. The end game is going to be the same. I have Great Respect for all of the people that you name. They have their opinion. A lot of people do. I can also name many more than you just named of people that totally supportive. You see the names coming out. People are extremely thrilled. Its time to bring our people back home. Were policing the area. Were not a police force. The u. K. Has soldiers over there, and others but many people agree with it very strongly. I understand both sides of it. I fully understand both sides of it but i campaigned on the fact that i was going to bring our soldiers home and bring them home as rapidly as possible. I, we, all together, you, we defeated and took over 100 of the isis caliphate. Everybody said that was going to be impossible. I did it and i did it quickly because we have a great military. When i took over our military we didnt have ammunition. I was told by a top general, maybe the top of them all, sir, im sorry, sir. We dont have communication. I said isle never we dont have ammunition. I said ill never let that happen again. I said we want to bring our soldiers back home. Its been a long time. We were supposed to be in there for a tiny spot, a 30 to 90day period. That was many years ago. Its time. The kurds have lost thousands of fighters. Weve lost a lot of fighters. If you look at some of the kurds, as you know, thats a natural enemy of turkey. Specifically, as i said, they have natural enemies. They have been fighting each other for somebody said today hundreds of years. One historian said they have been fighting for hundreds of years. We interject ourselves into tribal wars and theyre not the kind of thing that you settle the way we would like to see it settled. It doesnt work that way. Hopefully, that will all be very strong and strongly done. Were spending tremendous amounts of money. I can tell you, the two countries that are most disappointed that were leaving are china and russia. Upon because they love that were bogged down. And just watching and spending tremendous amounts of money instead of continuing to build our forces. We have tremendous new weapons under development now. Were going to be making stops over the next four or five weeks. Some we show. Some we dont show. Weve rebuilt, renovated and rebuilt nuclear, building submarines the likes of which they have never even been thought of before. The genius of them. Hopefully, and hope to god we never have to use them, but we are doing what we have to do, but we have been there for many years. Many, many years. Beyond what we were supposed to be. Not fighting. Just there. Its time to come back home. If you go by the other side that means we should never, ever come home. We should never, ever come home and you know, i have to sign letters often to parents of young soldiers that are killed and its the hardest thing i have to do in this killed. Afghanistan. I signed one the other day. Iraq. Syria. They get blownut up by mines. They get taken out they get blown up by mines. They get taken out by a sniper. I have to sign letters. We make each letter different. Each person is different. We make them personal. But no matter what you do its devastating. The parents will never be the same. The families will never be the same. People are killed. Many people are still being killed. Its going to go on for perhaps a long time. Were willing to do what we have to do but there has to be an end game. If you stay its the same thing. Eventually you have to leave. Its going to be the same thing. I think what were doing is the right thing. A lot of people agree with me. You go back and you see my speeches. A big part of my speech, and always when i won what some people considered to be a surprise election, i just see a poll that just came out where im up massively with independent voters. I dont know if its this or because of the hoax thats going on with nancy pelosi and her friend, adam schiff hes another beauty. He got caught lying all over the place. Hes a mess and Everybody Knows it. All you have to do is a little bit of reporting. Hes a total mess. Because he got caught. We have to do the right thing for our country. Whatever it may be. I think thats the right thing. I respect both opinions. The problem with the other opinion is when do we leave . When do we leave . Are we going to stay there forever . The white house preparing a letter for speaker pelosi. The impeachment inquiry is a scam. The conversation that i had with the ukrainian president was a very cordial, very good conversation. The mistake they made, the opponents, the opposition, the democrats, the radical left, deepstate, whatever you want to call them, they came out with a whistle blower report before they saw the conversation. Had they waited one day nancy pelosi wouldnt have made a fool out of herself and she wouldnt have said what she said because when she saw it she said this is not what the whistle blower said. Had a very congenial, nice conversation with a man that i like and he ran on corruption because as you know ukraine is known as a very corrupt country. One of the most in the world. Shockingly. Because i know ukrainian people. Surprising to me. But its known as one of the most corrupt countries and under the past leadership it was having a lot of difficulty. This gentleman, the current president , the new president , ran on the basis of anticorruption as you know. I think it was his single biggest thing. We had a great conversation. But it wasnt reported that way. The only reason i would have released the letter, because i think its terrible you have to release a letter that you have with a president of another country. I think its a terrible precedent. But the whistle blower or whatever the news was, was so off, it was so horrible, i said i never said that. Let me see. We have a stenographer report. We have a very word for word report of what i said. I released it. Almost everybody that read it said its either perfect or really very good but its a very normal, nice conversation, and when you see that the president of ukraine, president zelinski said there was no pressure put on me whatsoever, his spokesman came out two days ago and said there was absolutely no pressure on the president. I didnt tell him to say that. There was no pressure. All you have to do is read the report. The problem is i released it a day after they had already made their big statements and again its a big scam and i think adam schiff should be investigated for what he did. He took to the great chamber, congress, and he made a speech, and his speech was a fraud. Everything he said was a fraud. He went out as though i wrote it. He defrauded the American People. He defrauded congress. He defrauded himself and his family. He made a speech it was a horrible speech. I said what is this whats going on here . I think hes having some kind of a breakdown. Because he got up and made a speech that bore no relationship to what the conversation was. And ill tell you, a lot of people heard that speech and a lot of people thought thats what i said because they heard his speech because theyre not going to read a three or fourpage conversation. They dont have access to it. But i thought it was one of the i thought it was a terrible thing where hes going up speaking as the president of the United States saying things that i never said and the meaning was horrible and the whole thought was horrible, and then the whistle blower, he did, through his committee, through himself, he met with the whistle blower. They never said that. They nev talked about it. And nancy pelosi knew all of this they never talked about it. And nancy pelosi knew all of this stuff. She knew that. She knew everything about it. She didnt do anything about it. Ill tell you what. They should really be looked at very strongly because what they did is unthinkable. What they did to this country is unthinkable and its lucky that im the president because i guess, very few people could handle it. I sort of thrive on it because its so important that we get to the bottom. We went through the whole mueller scam. 2 1 2 years. We went through that and i had three, four days where it was like over and then im walking into the United Nations and they released it as im walking in, mr. Ambassador, im walking in, im going to meet with i wont name but one of the top leaders of the world, and i see up on the screen and people start screaming about this scam called impeachment. You cant impeach a president for doing a great job. You cant impeach a president for having the lowest and best unemployment numbers that weve had in 51 years. You cant impeach a president for tax cuts and regulation cuts and creating and even the ambassador would say the strongest economy in the world. We have the strongest economy in the world. This is a scam, and the people are wise to it, and thats why my polls went up, i think they said 17 points in the last two or three days. Ive never had that one. Ive never had that one. So i think its very sad for our country. I think it makes it harder to do my job. But i do my job and i do it better than anybody has done it for the first 2 1 2 years based on results. You look at not only the unemployment numbers. Look at the employment numbers, jeff. Were up to almost 160 Million People are working and now today we signed a deal with japan which is such an honor, and you have a great country. A great, great country. And to have you partake in our agricultural product and digital is a real honor for me, so thank you very much for coming all this distance and to be here and i look forward to seeing you for many years to come. Please, again, wish Prime Minister abe a happy birthday. Hes a very special man. Thank you very much. [applause] neil you have been listening to the president of the United States. Bob lighthiser, the trade rep, the president outlining a trade plan that doesnt require a move on congress to approve or disapprove, facing a devil a time with the u. S. And canada deal stymied in the u. S. House of representatives, commented on the controversy over taking troops out of Northern Syria, the troops come in that leaves the kurds, our allies exposed, generals say it leaves our most vulnerable allies vulnerable, the president said more people agree than disagree with me, for more on this Susan Crabtree from real clear politics, the president standing by the syria decision and saying on whats been happening on the impeachment front that it bedevils him that with such a successful economy that anybody would be entertaining this. What did you make of this . I thought he was pretty defiant. Pretty bullish on our own economy even though we have seen some signs of it faltering, we had a 3. 1 Economic Growth earlier this year, down to 1. 5 , experts say 1 the next six months, were seeing signs that may affect this china trade deal where hes back to engaging with china this week, thursday. The talks are supposed to resume. On the ooshgs isis front and on the syria front, i think hes rejecting his critics. Republican critics such as Lindsey Graham and susan collins. Hes saying this is his Campaign Promise and hes dead set on fulfilling those promises and the American People there is a lot of support among the American People for taking us out of wars. Unfortunately, this is going to have a deep impact on the kurds and their relationship with the u. S. And some of our promises we have made to them and it also impacts certain policies over there that we have been trying to rebuild Christian Communities in iraq and syria so im kind of questioning what kind of impact that will have on those efforts. But overall he seemed very, very confident in the face of impeachment. Doesnt seem to be its under his skin, definitely, but hes moving forward on other fronts with the china trade deal. He did talk a lot about adam schiff, hes distracted by this and im a little concerned that going into these china trade deals that thats going to weaken his hand. Of course, china also has its fair share of political distractions with hong kong demonstrators. Neil the president hoped that the chinese authorities would treat this situation humanely even though theyve upped the ante saying you cant wear masks, those that wear masks are rounded up and arrested, hundreds have been arrested, susap, i apologize for the truncated susan, i apologize for the truncated nature of this, a trade deal where he seems to be showing more flexibility on this. A partial deal where you dont address everything you want addressed but you get a lot of what you want. Ed morris at the white house with the latest. Did i interpret that correctly . How would you define it . He said weve come this far. We would like to have the full deal. The chinese trade delegation came here and they said theyre ready to make a deal on the parts of the agreement that we agree on. That the two sides agree on. Telling us theyre not going to change their laws and that is not on the table, they will protect intellectual property through administrative regulations and they believe that is as good as a law so neil, were going to have to see if the u. S. Accepts that. Earlier today larry kudlow hinted they would like to see whats on the table related to this but you heard the president there saying that he would prefer a greater deal. Neil. Neil he might prefer one and the last one he was talking about that was nondebatable and now hes showing his pragmatism here that they would rather leave with something in hand than nothing in hand. When they do meet by the time that chinese delegation leaves to have a broad outline of a deal . I dont think that its my sense that they might not have a broad outline of a deal. That would be too hard to come. There are many things the u. S. Wants that china wont budge on. Intellectual property. Enforcement in the agreement. Whats going to complicate things this week is a new report that we uncovered that the Commerce Department is adding 28 new Chinese Companies to that entity list. That was Just Announced and filed with the federal registry. Those 28 companies because of National Security concerns but also Human Rights Concerns and thats going to upset the president. The Worlds Largest supplier where the china deal goes and what happens on jap an. They held their wits together. Dow down 95 points. Here comes the five. I am dana perino with david, juan williams. Jesse watters and greg gutfeld. Its 5 oclock in new york city and this is the five. President trump demanded nancy pelosi and adam schiff be thrown out of office for their handling of the ukraine whistleblower. Thats happening while a second whistleblower claims to have firsthand knowledge of the allegations. Heres the president moments ago. The impeachment inquiry is a scam
