That is what they are doing. Claire mccaskill came out against Brett Kavanaugh<\/a> because his decisions gave a clear path for more special interests, unreported money into the political process. Jon tester for montana opposed judge kavanaugh because he was considered a privacy issue. Martha im talking about donnelly and Heidi Heitkamp<\/a>, they have not decided. They have to watch the fbi report to see what it says, they have to look at his decisions and how it impacts their state for the bottom line of the entire discussion is, this is not going to be the deciding factor in the states. The reason in these red states democrats are within the margin of error across the board is because of donald trump. The fact that according to the fox news poll, he is running at 35 believes he cares about people like them at the wall street journal poll shows that 53 , including majority of republicans martha you are telling heitkamp and donnelly that they should vote no . Im telling heitkamp and donnelly, look at the decision, look at what serves the best interest of their state and cast their vote accordingly and quite frankly at the end of the day martha if they will be asked of him are you okay with that . I would respect their decision. That will not aside this election politically. Donald trump, numbers keep sinking, and his credibility falling, that is what is keeping them in the race. Martha sticking to the midterms, the president , who does have good political instincts at times, believes that this could be a real problem for these candidates if they dont vote yes. Certainly. If you are Claire Mccaskill<\/a>, she was always going to vote no on judge kavanaugh, a no on neil gorsuch, a liberal democrat, four out of step with the majority of her state which went heavily for President Trump<\/a>. She will try to squeak through here. I think this is a big problem for her and she knows it. Shes a committed liberal so she will vote no. Martha let me bring updates Remington Remington<\/a> poll. It says that as a Supreme Court<\/a> nomination process for Brett Kavanaugh<\/a> made you more likely to vote for Claire Mccaskill<\/a> or less . 42 said more likely and 49 said less likely. She was pretty candid a few weeks ago and said this is a no win political situation because of the dynamic that you talked about. Alienating the left or turning off a lot of the more conservative voters of that state. If you are joe manchin, or you are Heidi Heitkamp<\/a>, there are poles coming out of those states that have kavanaugh after the hearing at plus 30, plus 35. I think unless something really significant comes out of the fbi investigation, you are going to see one or both of them vote yes. Before the fbi investigation was completed, support for judge kavanaugh drop to such a record low, the most unpopular nominee since judge bork. Let me also make the point that many of these days among independents and women, importance when votes, they are not only walking away from judge kavanaugh and opposed to his nomination, they are walking away from donald trump and what he represents. He defended an alleged rapist vigorously and unremittingly, making use of every thing provided to him. He date despite considerable social pressure to simply believe the accuser, who we all know is a young woman, poor white women, who claimed he had abused her. Ive asked this question repeatedly on my show, is there a time you can think of an American History<\/a> when people accused of sexual abuse, assault, rape, might have benefited, just benefited from a presumption of innocence and all the norms of the Justice System<\/a> that we inherited from rome.
