The battle to unseat senator sherrod brown. Also this maybe the most vulnerable seat that we will watch tomorrow night. This is indiana. Senator joe donnelly and those are the gentlemen who are trying to 1 against him in november. As we said, West Virginia, congressman evan jenkins internal Patrick Morrissey hope to beat Don Blankenship. As a result, he is gaining some traction. Joining me now attorney general mr. Morrissey. Good to see you this evening. Its good to be with you tonight. Thank you. Were glad to have you. Explain to me what you said today about what see as Campaign Violations from the blankenship camp and why you reached out to his parole officer in nevada . Couple of things. Very big issue, Don Blankenship has a history of ignoring the rule of law. Everyone knows about his criminal conviction relating to the conspiracy to violate mining standards. When you file as a u. S. Senate candidate, youre supposed to submit your personal financial disclosures. Youre wealth, your income, your assets and liabilities and Don Blankenship ignoring that. That comes with potential civil and criminal penalties. He just brushing it off like its no ones business. This is Important Information for voters so they can actually know a little bit more about you. Your finances and your conflict of interest. His parole officer said he doesnt see this as a violation. We know that Don Blankenship he doesnt think its right that candidates have to disclose that information. Do you think voters care that much in West Virginia, whether or not he does this . I think voters care if he just ignored the rule of law. Thats what youre seeing from Don Blankenship. Hes been weaving this tail during his campaign. I think people are beginning to know, especially President Trump, dominating Don Blankenship will be disaster for West Virginia. Hell be defeated by joe manchin. Were seeing more people from the president of the United States down. This is your other opponent, evan jenkins talking about why you are turning your ire against Don Blankenship. It was mostly jenkins versus morrissey and blankenship on the side. Hes risen in the polls Patrick Morrissey is desperate. Hes taking shots at Don Blankenship. Hes been all over the board. Its a clear indication his campaign is on life support. The poll suggest hes in a distant third. Patrick morrissey is desperate. Hes trying to attack anybody. You want to respond to that . Sure, i think its pretty straightforward. Voters know about evan jenkins liberal record. Right now, blankenship and i are close race. I think its important to educate people. But the most critical thing with 24 hours to go, people should know, i have the strong conservative record endorsed by conservatives West Virginia for life. Second amendment groups. People are motivated to get out to the poll and ensure that a proven conservative win against a liberal and convicted criminal. Well see. You got 24 hours left. Theres polls all over the place show you guys very close in some and flipflopped in the first and second and third spot. Interesting to watch. Thank you so much for being here. I wanted to wear the hat. I want to thank President Trump for what he did coming out and having my back today. We know its been a contest so see whos trumper in West Virginia. Karl rove former deputy chief of staff and Juan Williams and cohost of the five, everybody wants to wear the red hat in West Virginia. Juan, your thoughts. I love that. The funny part about this to me when you and bret baier went down there for the debate, blankenship was third in the polls. Now, their internal numbers, especially from the rnc, wait a second, blankenship is in this thing. Close to the top. It came as a surprise to me especially after the ad in which you saw blankenship going after Senate Majority leader mitch mcconnell. I found it unattractive. Im not a voter in West Virginia. Nonetheless somehow, it seems to me blankenship is out trump, trump. He is the trump guy here. Pop list energized candidate. Thats what trump brought to the political scene in america and to West Virginia. Karl, what do you expect tomorrow night . I think its going to be a economicked complicated night. 38 of the voters were undecided. We dont know whats happening here. Sure some of then cob attract could be attracted by mr. Blankenship. I give the people West Virginia more credit. I dont think a bigoted approach to politics, something thats tearing down somebody not in the race coming from mouth of man who is convicted from jail who cant register to vote in nevada. His company has worst record of mine safety for decades. Who oversaw a mine safety violations that results in death of 29 miners. Im not sure thats a winning record even in the republican primary in West Virginia. Youre right. It will be fascinating to see which way undecided voters go. It might be only 120 or north of that thousand people who turn out to vote. Very small percentage of West Virginiaians will decide whos going to run against joe manchin. Thats going to be race to watch. Juan turn your attention to ohio. Kucinich versus cordray. So much is about populist politics. You have cordray endorsed by senator warren. You have kucinich its like a divide among democratic populist. The energy is with kucinich who was mayor of cleveland. Had a terms in the house. Has political contacts and networks that are working for him. What about ohio karl . On the republican side, i think its dewines victory tomorrow night. If cordray does win, thats interesting. Last time that cordray was on the ballot in ohio, he was running for attorney general against mike dewine. Well see rematch if that happens. It cordray should win. Juan is right. Theres a populist Energy Behind kucinich. He has lot of strange allies. Including money from group who has associations with assad in syria. Its going to be interesting race to watch. The Democratic Party disrupted just like the Republican Party is. Thank you very much. Good to see you both tonight. President trump looms large over tomorrow nights primary as pretty much documented by the red hat, new book is asking really interesting questions about the 2016 win was it just a fluke as some pundits have indicated or does it represent a fundamental electoral shift in our nations politics that could impact tomorrow nights election and perhaps all of american politics for many years to come. The book is called the great revolt inside the populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics authors joining me now. You documented 2016 indepth picking up on some of these trends before they really surfaced on election night. Surprised lot of people. Let me ask you first. As you listen to that discussion about these primaries tonight, this is whats brewing. What is your handle on what might happen based on what youve been seeing . I think its really interesting. Brad and i were talking about this before we went on. Everyone trying to grab the mantle of the donald trump candidate. Theyre trying to pick up portions that they think they reflect the most. That tells you a lot about the electorate. Its still sort of unsettled. It is still against the status quo and it is interested in disrupting whats going on in elections. Its not willing to listen to what washington is telling them. If you listen to the folks on the liberal side of the fence, they think this presidency is a disaster. They think theres going to be a huge blue wave coming. Is what you guys document in this book, something that will continue to impact these politics. Are they right or you guys right . You see in the ohio governors race, two democrats might be described nuttier. Democrats have been radicalized in this process. The reason our book, if you didnt see the trump wave coming, if you didnt see populist and conservatives which changed the conservative party and change the coalition. This book is for you. Its continued on in commercial. The nfl, dicks sporting goods. Commerce is being disrupted by the same coalition. If thats true, you would think that West Virginia is going to be become red. It may not. Manchin is very popular in his home state. It is incredibly difficult to sort out at this point. I would say look maybe in august and september. See what kind of campaigns theyre running and what they are saying is appealing to voters. They want to talk about the economy. They still want to talk about the economy and how theyre treated with respect. This is a culture that feels it not been respected. Not just politics but by big business and sport. Their impact is well beyond the ballot box. Thats important that people read the book. I think they need to understand theres a movement going on. Were still not listening to what its telling us. You know what im curious about. We talk so much about the deviciveness in the country. You see the right going further right. And you see left. You see this trump phenomenon. You got lot of people in the middle who sort of want to go back to where things were. I think most republican candidates who maybe like that middle zone. How do you see that . Were going to have three parties . We did a survey of trump voters in the five states that flipped from obama to trump. By far, 89 of them blamed both parties. 73 say big businesses cant be trusted. Theres a populous fusion that say Big Government big business, were waiting to see. Huge number of trump voters in ohio and pennsylvania and iowa and wisconsin, those voters voted for obama twice. They didnt get what they wanted from president obama. They were willing to break parting traditions to switch. We have a story in the book. You want to understand the thought process how people can switch from barack obama to donald trump. This the pook for but you what about november you hearing theres big blue wave coming. The polls have shown to be unreliable. Do you believe the polls . Well, i think pollster have a hard time with talking to people. Its part of a distrust. People dont trust to give their information to pollsters. Thats part of it. I think sometimes people arent honest when theyre polled. I think november, when im going to be watching are the senate races. There are ten seats that were held by democrats that trump won. Not in the small way. Take missouri. Five states democrats incumbents hold that are up for reelection. Bm bmw donald trump won by 18 points. Well see lot of those in action tomorrow night. Which makes this a really interesting election night. Its very interesting. Thank you very much. Great to have you guys here. Coming up next, is the Mueller Probe hitting head winds. Then you got editorial today in the wall street journal that plast fbi case against michael flynn. He showed no signs that he was lying. Here now fox news senior traditional analyst judge napolitano. I want to move forward to this wall street journal piece. If theres some very sensitive language at play in all of this. What has been made clear is that the agent who interviewed michael flynn, said he showed no signs of deception. Thats being taken to understood as they believe he didnt lie. Agents well trained and looking for signs of deception. Turned out he did lie. We know that. It pains me to say this. Lot of affection and respect for the career of general flynn. Im not so sure that i would have indicted him if i was mueller. We know he lied, theres a recording of the conversation and it may have been an elicit recording. Its a recording. We know it occurred. We know we talked about. Unmasked conversation . Correct. Unmasked by Obama Administration. It was putted in Washington Post it was intended to embarrass then president elect trump. The question is why did they indict him for such a minor insignificant lie . Im not down playing underlying conversation, theres a very good argument there was no problem with him having that conversation. Absolutely. The problem was he discussed the potential future according to this, of whether or not Trump Administration will be open to lifting sanctions. Which is normal conversation to have. Underlying conversation was not only laurel lawful and wholesome. I wanted to get a hook in general flynn just like a hook in papadopoulos and swedish lawyer. They think they can get information from these folks. In return for not going after general flynn for everything under the sun, failing to register, they cut a deal, you help us out, plead guilty to lying. Max six months. Did he help them out with anything. We dont know. Depends on whos indicted. The other thing that i found really interesting in this editorial today. Is this section from andrew mccabe. Talking about the case. Whats significant here is that this is from the house intel report. Initially they redact all of this stuff. Then they released a new version and you would assume, they redacted things that are classified information. It turns out what they had blacked out was stuff that made mccabe look bad. This is what devin nunes has been complaining about loud and long. These redactions are proportedly for National Security purposes. Thats what we put it up. Deputy direct mccabe conditionalled that the two people who interviewed flynn didnt think he was lying which was not a great beginning of a false statement case. Why would that be redacted . The power to redacts a corrupt power. It shouldnt be in the hands of the people who created the document. It should be in the hands of some neutral entity to decide what is so sensitive that congress cant see it. What would cause the death of a source. What would cause witness to flee a defendant to get out of the way that makes them look bad. Meantime, general flynn is still stuck with this. We dont know where its going to go. He pleaded guilty under oath. He cant take that back without another charge of perjury. Well leave it there hanging with the next thought. Good to see you. Thank you so much. Four decade after the murder of 15yearold Martha Moxley the man convicted of that crime gets that conviction overturned. How does her brother feel about that . Were going to speak exclusively with john moxley in a moment. Why is john kerry meeting with the iranians just weeks before President Trump decides what he will do about the iran deal. On whether or not the former secretary of state broke the law. This is another tangent chasing the flynn tan scent when it turn out that john kerry is now violating the logan act. Nobody seems to care. Get yo
