There are a lot of questions about that then fbi directors actions. We start with you tonight, busy evening. So many interesting moments in that interview that you just did with james comey. What stands out to you . Bret first, that he actually showed up here at the traffic we were literally getting updates, so we shifted things around. What stood out to me was one, that he said to this day he doesnt definitively know that the dossier was funded by the dnc and Hillary Clinton. I find that fascinating, i find it interesting. I think as you are presenting the dossier as a reason to survey all carter page to a fisa court, why dont you know . Its unverified and salacious, but its funded by your opponent. I dont know the answer to that. I thought thats what really struck out. Martha i agree. It was like a deer in headlights look. I have no idea, we should look into that. This is the head of the Investigative Bureau of the united states. The use of questions that anybody would want to know, so you have this document. Where does it come from, who generated it . He basically said i was told it was a legitimate source and that was enough for him. The fbi decided not to bring him on, so they mustve known something was up with his credibility. He got fired by the fbi for leaking to the media. The other thing that stuck out to me was about the leaking of the memos. Again, he pushed back on the word leaked. I tried to get fbi protocol and the deployment that hes done about what a leak is. Ed was word product. He said he gave it to a good friend, but it turns out he was also working at the fbi. Why does that matter . What was his job . He was a guy that you gave stuff too . He also confirmed that the memos which were now considered classified memos went to three other people. We know that the fbi had to scrub the computer of one of those people after that because of intelligence. Where this goes, i dont know. Martha it will be fascinating to see what the ig finds because that is a major form of contention right now. He was much rougher on him than just that and james comey said absolutely not. Those are my private memories. It was a diary that i was putting together and it was my life as a private citizen, but they were generated on the fbis payroll and computers. I wonder, which one of those is actually the case in the minds of the ig . We dont know, but what we do know is its going to be coming out soon according to lawmakers on the hill, they think its going to be explosive because they been working on it for a long time. The other things that struck me about the interview is what he said at the end, that he was still the fbi director tonight. Listening to this media rollout in this book, which has done very well, he has not shied away from saying the president is morally unfit, that people should vote their conscious, but not vote for this guy. Yet, he said as of tonight, had he not been fired, he would still be working. He was still be working with this person. I was trying to see if there is a disconnect in his mind and there wasnt. Martha thank you so much, good having you here tonight. Corey lewandowski is with us as well. He has a reaction to this and other things that are cropping up and trump land. Good evening. What went through your mind as you are watching all of that . Maybe this was the make greatest messiah complex weve ever seen her this is a man who decides whats right and wrong,e decides what information should be given to the people and what shouldnt. He was trying to justify the leaking of information to his friends, attorneys, or whoever he decides is appropriate, its okay as long as hes made the decision. It doesnt matter what the fbis rules are, what the protocols are, jim comey was using government information, Government Computers to put this information on has decided it is in his best interest to make a personal diary regardless of what the rules say. Jim comey is the one who decides whats right and wrong for this country now. Spew it when you look back at the Hillary Clinton investigation and you think about the emails and the fact that they were done on a state server and she had a private email address, all of those same issues kind of converge and the thinking in that investigation was that basically anything that was done on computers and other people you work with was all considered to be government property. Its interesting and at sounds like he holds himself to a different standard. I want to move onto some other things. The president lost Ronny Jackson as his va secretary prospect today. What do you think of that . I think its the very worst of the has to offer. He served three president s, never during his tenure when he has gone through three fbi background checks or had the opportunity to get his first up, were any of these issues raised. Now all of a sudden, 23 unnamed sources come forward. Even by the accounts of the democrats and barack obama himself, hes been phenomenal in his role of the chief position to the president of united states. This is everything thats wrong in washington, d. C. Martha john hester went after him with a hammer and then went on National Television and said i cant say 100 sure that these things are actually happening. Its basically his word against the word of dr. Jackson. The president this morning when after tucker. He said hes going to pay for what he did. What you think you meant by that . Hes going to be held accountable. Now the people of montana have seen the real jon tester. This is a man who comes to washington, says one thing and goes back to montana and says something different. Weve now seen him destroy a career of a qualified individual because he wants to play partisan politics. Martha Rudy Giuliani in the mix now, is he going to close the deal for the president to sit down with Robert Mueller . I think hes the right person, he has the political skill in the legal skill. What you do to negotiate to come to a resolution as it relates to the president to bring a conclusion to the fake investigation where theres been no collusion with the president and outside sources. I think its very important to have the American People bring that to a conclusion. Martha he reiterated he would like a chance to ask trump questions about the steps he took during his transition. He emphasized that an interview is essential for investigators to understand and make key decisions to wrap up the portion of the probe focused on potential obstruction of justic justice. This investigation has been going for almost a year and a half. Its time to end it. Martha thank you very much much. Coming up next, what a day for the man who used to be known as americas dad. Bill cosby guilty on three counts of Sexual Assault. Its been a very long journe journey. This is a historic result. Martha a landmark verdict. He will likely spend the rest of his life in prison because dozens of women were brave enough to come forward with their stories. Attorney on the impact, the culture, and the country from his case. Also, two former nfl cheerleaders suing the nfl for discrimination. They are willing to make a deal for just 1, but they have some conditions. They join us again exclusively with their proposal for the nfl next. I guess it is kind of a double standard. Football players are held to and then what women are held to in the nfl. Insurance that wont replace the full value of your new car . Youre better off throwing your money right into the harbor. Im gonna regret that. With new car replacement, if your brand new car gets totaled, Liberty Mutual will pay the entire value plus depreciation. Liberty stands with you. Liberty mutual insurance. It kills weeds, prevents crabgrass and feeds so grass can thrive, guaranteed. Our backyard is back. This is a scotts yard. Martha big story today as bill cosby, americas dad. What a stunning moment this was in a court room. Found guilty on three charges of aggravated assault. The details of this case are horrific. The 80yearold will now spend the rest of his years behind bars. Its an unbelievable fall from grace for this man who defended athletes and president s. He wrote books about fatherhood. Stop. The two of you [laughter] did you told denise that she could go out on a date tonight . Yes, i did. Have you seen the boy . Yes, i have. How ugly is he . Martha Trace Gallagher is live and our west coast newsroom. Those were the good days. Today was not one of those days. When the verdict was read, the court room in those inside the court say bill cosby himself stared straight ahead showing little, if any emotion. That quickly changed when District Attorney kevin field demanded that cosby go straight to jail. When he told the judge that he has an airplane and could flee, the former tv star called him and a whole shouting im sick of you. The judge decided that because of his age and his health, he would remain free until sentencing. The trial itself lasted two weeks with accuser telling the jury that cosby knocked her out with blue pills and then sexually violated her. Five other women also claim that he drugged and assaulted them. During their 14 hours of deliberation, the jury was leaning toward acquittal. That was not to be. Andrea constand did not address the media, but here is one of cosbys other accusers followed by the d. A. Watch. Today, this jury has shown that the movement is a saying women are worthy of being believed. I think the jury. I think the prosecution. He drugged and sexually assault of these women and he evaded this moment here today for far too long. Tamas rowe who successfully defended Michael Jackson against child molestation charges back in 2005 had this to say. We are very disappointed by the verdict. We dont think mr. Cosby is guilty of anything and the fight is not over. Thank you. Recall that during a deposition nearly a decade ago, bill cosby acknowledged he gave quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with. So far, no sentencing date, but Pennsylvania State law requires it be within 90 days. Martha thank you very much. Kimberly guilfoyle and marc thiessen. Kimberly, let me start with you on this. Im fascinated by your coverage. What did you think of this verdict . It was a compelling verdict and it really seminal moment in terms of the prosecution. He would groom them with drugs, financial, something that he could use. They wouldnt be able to identify or recollect, to be able to go forward to report a case or crime. After seeing some of these situations, they want to be able to move on to the next victim. The jury coming back with this verdict i thought was compelling. Three counts, he is looking at 30 years total, ten for each. There will be sentencing memos provided at the sentencing hearing, sealed able to hear from some of the victims. Its really powerful and important for people who have been the victim of Sexual Assault to have some kind of feeling validated because you live in such shame and sorrow and anxiety for so many years. Especially being called names like this woman was in the courtroom. Martha ed was stunning. One of the things i thought that was so fascinating and satisfying in a way about what happened today was with all of this metoo movement, this was adjudicated in a courtroom. I thought that was a big moment for all of this because this was laid out for a jury. First it was a mistrial. This is the way that it is supposed to work. Absolutely. I would be looking nervously at bill cosby, but this is a great week for the long arm of the la law. After 42 years on the run, authorities just apprehended the golden state killer, a guy who raped women. Hes a evaded justice these crimes for decades and hes finally receiving justice as well. The long arm of the law, if you stick with it, if you dont give up, if you demand justice, eventually it will be served. Martha he had his whole team there. I dont think they gave up. You become almost family. Martha i want to ask you about alfie evans. Hes in the hospital and the hospital is refusing to release him. He has a genetic disorder, kimberly, they wont allow the parents to remove him. Hes been accepted by a hospital in italy, thats what the parents want to do. Why on earth can they keep parents come peaking their child to a different hospital . Can you imagine not being able to take her child that you love and be able to do something to provide dignity and comfort, dont you think they would work cooperatively in the best interest of the parents were grieving and suffering . The laws are very different as well. Martha to just go in there and grab her child, that would be my gut feeling. What is going on here . They cant do that because the British Government placed 30 officers outside the hospital. They are literally a hostage of the British Government. They are killing him, literally. The doctors arent always right. The doctors testified in court that he would take a few breaths after the ventilation was removed and would die very quickly. We are going into the fourth day where hes breathing on his own. What i dont understand is why are the british so determined . Martha thank you very much, ive got to leave it there. Great to see you both. Thank you so much. Coming up next tonight, President Trump becoming a big player on the world stage after his meetings with the french president this week, but critics say that they dont think it went all that well. Bill bennett with his take. Also, kanye west, weve never heard his name so often on the news. Its incredible whats going on here. Despite his famous friends who are texting him and trying to convince him to come to their way of thinking, karl rove and Juan Williams on that. Well be back. He sees that stuff and hes smart. He says trump is doing a much better job than the democrats did. It relieves all your worst symptoms including nasal congestion, which most pills dont. And all from a gentle mist you can barely feel. Flonase sensimist. And when you switch to esurance, in the modern world, it pays to switch things up. You can save time, worry, hassle, and yup, money. In fact, drivers who switched from geico to esurance saved hundreds. Thats auto and Home Insurance for the modern world. Esurance. An allstate company. Click or call. I thought i was managing my moderate to severe ulcerative colitis. But i realized something was missing. Me. The thought of my symptoms returning was keeping me from being there for the people and things i love most. So, i talked to my doctor and learned humira can help get, and keep,uc under control when other medications havent worked well enough. And it helps people achieve control that lasts so you could experience few or no symptoms. Humira can lower your ability to fight infections, including tuberculosis. Dont start humira if you have an infection. Be there for you, and them. Ask your gastroenterologist about humira. With humira, control is possible. Thank you. [laughter] i like him a lot. Martha the president s critics have insisted he has no friends really on the world stage. Now theyre saying there was too much affection and a clear effort for what appeared to be overall a pretty successful meeting between these two into something very different. Check out these headlines. Is that what happened . Here now, bill bennett former secretary of education under president reagan and a fox news contributor. It is good to see you, as always. Do you recall what the french president did over his stay . Ed was a onethird or one half projection. This is the french. Weve been dealing with them fos happens with the french. The morning before macron address to congress, on my podcast, i said ive seen all the hugs and kisses, the handshakes, the shaking the dandruff off of macrons jacket. Enough, get on the plane and go back. Then he gives the speech to congress. I like the french fine, i like them twothirds. You get to know the french and i appreciate lafayette, but there are a lot more americans. Thats always been onesided. I thought the president extended himself beautifully. Macron reciprocated somewhat. The most important thing, the president is marching on and his Foreign Policy objectives are strong and hes having a serious meeting with the macron, particularly about iran despite the fact that macron Angela Merkel is now in town and look at those pictures of mike pompeo with kim jong un. This is pretty good stuff for a novice president. He is doing. In the beginning, hes doing better than obama did in your 8. Martha this notion that he doesnt have any friends around the world, doesnt get along well with people, you look at bridges that have opened in china, the alliance that we have seen him building with syria. Im sure theresa may was wat
