if you want to mandate that people wear masks, okay. bring congress back, bring the state legislature back, and pass a law. and the law has to withstand -- >> laura: you aren't listenin listening, it's a state -- >> laura: state legislature! we can't have these governors issuing edicts left and right forever. don't think the masks won't last forever either. >> laura: i have no idea what the hell >> laura: tomorrow i'm going to educate you on the current state of the science. >> sean: i say all the time, let me educate you liberals. let me educate humpty dumpty and mr. potato head. >> laura: okay, humpty dumpty. great show as always. i'm laura ingraham and this is fr"the ingraham angle" from washington tonight. teachers unions are choosing liberal wish lists over educating your kids? can't be. we'll explain. also, donald trump's niece just published a totally slanderous work impugning the president's psyche. a psychologist is here tonight to detail how mary trump is guilty of somegu pretty obvious projection. a potential scandal is brewing with the counting of positive tests in florida for covid. a full report, plus we'll hear from the respective doctor with the actual fact. but first, the war against kids. that's the focus of tonight's angle. is there anything in the world happening beyond covid? you think not watching the nonstop fear and panic sold by the media and their democrat partners 24/7. >> america is a worldwide center for new cases in part of trump's failure. >> the point is there is no plan.ed there is no federally led effort to bring this back. >> what, if anything, can be done to pull thehe country out f this public health disaster? >> laura: they rarely report that new infections have been translated into a rising covid death rate. in fact, the seven day average has fallen from a peak of 2,232 in mid-april to 724 as of yesterday. that is right. it's a 68% decline. there has been a slight uptick in covid deaths this month but the death rate is nowhere where it was in april, for that good news in a difficult situation. they don't want you living in fear, what they want you to be is demoralized, dumbs down, and dependent on the government, meaning more ppe mailbox money than actual jobs and they hope that you are going to be so exhausted from riding lockdown and rolling roller coaster that you'll trade freedom for a false sense of security and it'll be gone for socialism. in case you've forgotten, freedom includes the rights to travel, to gather, to work, to worship, and to attend school. it is this issue of school reopening where we see exactly what joe biden's puppeteers are capable of. >> we cannot do as president trumpen is doing and play politics with and be willing to sacrifice the lives of our children and their teachers. >> laura: let me say this very clearly. they are lying to you when they say it's too dangerous to reopen schools. a newew german study, the larget of its kind confirms what we've learned from iceland, france, and scandinavian countries. the results show that the dynamics of virus spreading have been overestimated, the universityrs who said they did e study, said that they suggested that schools did not become the coronavirus hot spot after reopening as had been feared. in case you think this is some small, ridiculous study, a total of 2045 blood samples from schoolchildren and teachers were taken from 13 secondary schools unin germany. unlike the u.s., europeanth countries smartly send their students back to school and there haven't been any major outbreaks. so should kids wear a mask and social distance in schools? different countries have tried different approaches. it's been different all across the globe. but school districts across america are right now planning very expensive classroom modifications. you see a lot of the plexiglass dividers. maybe they were, maybe not. and parents in turn are buying into this freak out and in orange county where they are bucking the trend in california, some parents are actually upset about theet reopening. >> there are so many people who can get sick and i think it's very dangerous and unacceptable to go back to school right now. >> kids' lives matter! >> where is your mask! >> okay, they don't know about the science and the media isn't reporting the science. very interesting, don't you think? and dr. fauci is an talking bout that science produced by german researchers we just talked about. professor reinhard berner discovered the majority of schoolchildren did not go through an infection themselves despite an infection in the household. this finding must also be taken into account when it comes to deciding on measures to limit contact. if you listen closely to physicians, even far left outlets like msnbc occasionally stumble on the truth. but,t boy, are they embarrassed byou it? >> would you let your parents go back to school? >> i would. my kids are looking forward to it. >> do it, absolutely. speak without hesitation? >> without hesitation, yeah. >> i have no concerns about sending my child to school. >> dr. john torres, nbc news. >> they all said yes. >> laura: that's my favorite moment of the day! they ran out of teachers, or reporters, or expert, or doctors, or whatever. biden's big ally, the teachers union, they pay no attention to the doctors or that extensive german study i talked about. they want their members to stay home and totally ignore what we know about kids exceedingly low infectivity rate. they ignore the horrific mental and physical health consequences from keeping kids away from school as well. we said this last night, i'm going to repeat it. really important. these teachers, just like police and firefighters, they are essential employees. their salaries are paid by you, the taxpayer. yet many are refusing to return to work. this is not to say there are no risks of returning to schools. therels are. there may be. the cdc issued its final full report for the 2019-2020 season. tragically 166 children died of the flu nationwide. but schools didn't close, did they? teachers did not refuse to work. by contrast, the number of children who died of covid is 30 according to provisional cdc data. every life lost is a horrific tragedy, that goes without saying. in california where teachers are pushing to keep their kids at home, guess how many states of nearly 9 million schoolchildren succumb to covid? on the screen, zero. and under under the age of 18id has died of covid in california according to the stats that we have, the most up-to-date one. thankfully, overwhelmingly, children have been spared. still, biden's most ardent supporters, the teachers unions are rationing of this year and even trying to extort concessions that have zero to do with education.os the united teachers los angeles union are demanding the abolishment of charter schools, and demanding that the funding of police. that'll keep those kids safe and those educators. we will have more on that. here's the bottom line. schools are world children learn, grow, interact, it's where they run around here t whe they play sports. ysometimes they get hurt. for some it's a respite from a turbulent home life. they desperately need this rhythm of school back, this normalcy to return. and economically our country cannot survive school closures without let a close make ripple effects. parents will suddenly be out of work, and job losses in the arena will be severe. children cannot be ponds this campaign season. we have to safeguard their physical health but also their long-term development. keeping them locked in the house attached to screens is going to lead to untold suffering. untold for them, far worse for this virus. that's the angle. joining me now is georgianna kelman, l.a. parent and special education attorney, also harmeet dhillon, civil rights attorney and foundertt for the center of civil liberties challenging many of these edicts across the country. you are in the middle of this but what your reaction to the l.a. unified school district's ondecision not to reopen this fl for in class learning? >> it's a huge, massive mistake. we are going to be payingg for t or a long time. you articulated everything i've wanted to say perfectly. i'm being entirely honest, i can't find how many times teachers, consistently to tell me, hey, being surveyed for parents, the majority of l.a. parents want to go back to school, teachers want to go back to school. unfortunately this unionhi is a bully. teachers are being highly encouraged to go along with the same lying and thinking that the union, based on their objectives of the union. i'm here to tell you it's not true. a majority of parents want to go back to school. unfortunately they don't have a seat at the table. kids don't have lobbyists, kids don't have union speaking on their behalf and speaking the truth. we aren't having a conversation about truly the impact of covid versus closure. special education children, we are going to go in communities due to this closure. i do believe there is a middle ground. >> laura: i'm going to go further, harmeet, the hybrid system is a little bit better but it's incredibly confusing. and up and mack family life for working parents especially. harmeet, eric garcetti the mayor of los angeles and it dovetails into this conversation is already threatening another lockdown. watch. >> do you anticipate the mandate and stay at home or in or to return? order.ot a stay at home if we go to read, that's what will come. today, i only know today -- asked me later this week, but i want everybody to take seriously that we are on the verge of that for sure. >> laura: harmeet, is this the m.o. now, every time china releases a virus accidentally, or people are worried about, what's next, climate change? we will shut down the state of the planet? is this what will do forever with the democrats in charge? >> absolutely, laura, i believe that is their m.o. that it be a good reason to terrorize people and shut them down. eric garcetti is speaking the message of his owners and the owners of the democratic county del mccarty in california, the teachers union, the most powerful lobby. their demands to open any school in fashion, especially in hybrid fashion you just mentioned, laura, it includes medicare for all, defunding the police, on and on.rn laura, even before the crisis, california was even in a good state in regards to literacy. fewer than 25% of ourtl fourth-graders can read properly. they settled a suit between literacy activism in the state this year because of the equal protection violation, a fact that students in poor school districts of disadvantaged backgrounds, english as a second language, what have you, are not getting educated. imagine what is going to be like when they don't have individualized attention, when their individual education plans are not being honored by the state. this is going to cause massive physical harm to students schools, many resort for families with students who may be suffering the different things. >> laura: i think it's the issue affecting all families with children. ladies, thank you so much. as mentioned earlier earlier, the l.a. teachers union and harmeet said they are making these crisis demands. it's like an ongoing watching in real-time attempts at extortion, we want to educate your kids in person unless u you give us certain liberal pet projects like defunding the police. now a moratorium on new charter schools? can't have competition. and taxpayer handouts for illegals to welcome people in the country and we educate the children we have to runaway unions exploiting this tragedy, like everybody else knocking down statues, they want to knock down education to get more concessions. joining me now is rebecca friedrich, former california schoolteacher and the union rep, also the lead plaintiff in that landmark 2016 supreme court case against the nda and company teachers association. rebecca, i didn't think much of the teachers unions before covid and now i'm frankly disgusted because it's obvious they are putting students last and teachers unions' political demands first. your take? >> i am so thrilled that you feel this way and you are highlighting this for your viewers. i have been shouting about this for decades. the unions are using the closure of our schools as a smoke screen. laura, here is why. sadly these unions are actually using our schools to sexualize our children and to train them in anti-american ideology pure they do this with a coalition of 120 organizations including sadly the cdc, planned parenthood, and black lives matter incorporated. shocking what they are teaching children onlinern through virtul learning. they are teaching our children to sext, view pornography, hooking them up with online i have an editorial in "the washington times." people can read and learn all the details. one of the big reasons that they want to keep our schools close so they can sneak these evil lessons past 11 teachers who have no idea, by keeping them virtual. >> laura: i remember a friend of mine living north of l.a. in the santa barbara areaea telling me about kindergartens, living whatever is "human life curriculum." it's repeated throughout. it's way advanced for a kindergartner and most parents don't even, i don't think know about it to opt out. they have to opt out or it's automatically happening to her that's the kind of stuff that goes on. your point is an important one, the unions would rather have teachers at home using these online tools because it is a lot more complicated when you're in class trying to teach this stuff, so you think there's actually a political motive to be at home, not just they are misstating the science or don't know the science. >> absolutely. what you also have to know is that the teachers union, the national educationon association rewrote the scientific method so that this is why we are getting fake science, fake history, fake everything through our schools because it is their goal to destroy our public schools. look, i think we have this perfect opportunity right now where we can learn how to save american schools and save america if we do four things. >> laura: we got to go, rebecca.s are those in your op-ed, tomorrow? >> no, they areks not. >> laura: will have you back. this is the tyranny of the clock in cable news. we've got a lot of information out. thank you so much. there is a potential scandal brewing in florida about how hospitals are attracting covid cases but we are going to tell you about it in moments. later we speak to a psychiatrist who says mary trump's new personal attempt at a takedown of president trump reveals more about her than the president. she'll explain. 49... 50! i found you! good job. now i'm gonna stay here and you go hide. watch your favorites from anywhere in the house with the xfinity stream app. free with your xfinity service. now any room can be a tv room. stream live tv, on demand shows and movies even your dvr recordings. download the xfinity stream app today to stream the entertainment you love. xfinity. the future of awesome. >> laura: the number of covid cases in florida undoubtedly on the rise but there is a potentially massive scandal brewing regarding the way hospitals, labs, and others reporting the percentage of positive test results. fox affiliate wofl has been looking into the story. joinsoi us now live from orlando for the latest breaking details. robert? >> laura, it takes a lot to surprise a journalist but i was shocked when they heard this news today. lots of confusions in many levels reference to florida's coronavirus numbers. we got tipped off that the numbers didn't quite look like on the state's daily case reports. looking into the breakdown of test labs, i quickly noticed astronomical positivity rates. mind you, florida's covid-19, positivity rates under 11%, but dozens of labs reported having 100% positivity. some only reporting positive cases. the negative column completely blank. i asked myself how could 100% of people testing at those sites test positive. i reached out to several major hospitals in our area. orlando health and the orlando va confirming errors in their numbers on the report. so after several requests for comment, today the florida department of health issued the statement to me in the days some smaller private labs weren't reporting negative result data. the department b immediately started working with those labs to ensure that all results were being reported in order provide comprehensive and transparent to data. these labs are required by the state to report all testhe reports. something else that adds to the confusion of spokespersons, they believe there is a problem in the state's data gathering system because itm is there understanding the negative results from their hospital were in fact submitted. laura, more answers to be questioned, many floridians alreadyy questioning the numbers being reported by the state. >> laura:au thanks for the great job. we appreciate it. joining us now is dr. charles lockwood, dean of the university of south florida's college of medicine.wo dr. lock emma before we get into the details of florida's numbers, your reaction to what was reported. labs with 100% positivity rates? and others who aren't reporting anyrt negatives? how damaging is that to the larger picture? >> you know, i am not totally surprised. on saturday, the state did 143,000 checks when governor desantis said that we were going to triple testing back in march to 30,000 tests per day. on saturday we did 143,000 tests inin one day. that's a long task, you'll have screw ups when you have that volume of testing going on. but that's pretty disturbing. >> laura: well it doesn't inspire a lot oft content. i want to play some of the media coverage of the sun sunshine statescovid outbreak. >> we had these surging rates in florida. speak with the direll situationn the state of florida. >> in miami-dade, things are especially dire. >> a total circle of chaos taking place in the state of florida. >> of course there are rising state numbers. a lot of folks think florida is the next new york? tell us why thatwh is absurd, frankly. >> we are not. it's pretty clear. just for one thing, our case fatality rate, that's the number of deaths over the number of cases is 1.5%. new york city right now is 10%. that's a huge difference there. we've had a huge increase in cases. we've had a two fold increase in cases since june 10th. we had an increase in hospitalizations, a little less than that increase in depth, every death is tragic. but they after day, week after week we've had a drop in our case fatality rate. there are probably three things that directly impact that. one is we are doing will regular testing. we had all the goals we've had, now on average doing about 73 tests per day on a rolling average for that's pretty accurate. >> laura: doctor, dr. lockwood, let me just play zen group says the death rate itself is not really relevant. watch. speak of the death rate which make a big deal out of, the declining death rate is surprisingly meaningless. deaths now are the result ofbo infections about a month ago so we can only -- the metrics that matter in real time are what are the hospitalization rates we are seeing in places like florida? >> laura: does he have any merit to what he said? >> yeah -- well, a little. deaths are definitely a lagging indicator, but we shouldn't be much see a much higher case fatality rate. it's been predicted that our case fatality rate would do a u and be heading back up. it's not. today in tampa,t, hillsborough county, our case was .9%, that's less than 1%. that's the lowest i think in the united states. and everyer day i wake up, i checked the numbers, and it has been dropping. i think it's real, doing a lot more cases, picking up more ace and somatic cases, picking up milder cases than we did before when you test that number of people, thousands and thousands when you think about it we are testing, approaching 1% of the population in florida being tested every day when you get 142,000 tests. >> laura: a younger population not dying, thankfully, at the rate their older counterparts were dying earlier. dr. lockwood, there is a lot of points here, clearly the slower the narrative is not going away anytime soon. thanks for going through with us. many questions going to america's minds are this, where is congress and what are they going to do with opening school? steve scalise and jim jordan, they are here with some answers. stay tuned. >> laura: teachers t unions are holding our kids' education hostage and leading democrats are their coconspirators. >> what we heard the secretary was malfeasance and dereliction of duty. this is appalling. this president and his administration are messing with the health of our children. o going back to school presents the biggest risk for the spread of the coronavirus. >> laura: the biggest risk of spread of bull -- you know what -- comes from the woman in yellow. how does the house g.o.p. respond to it? here is the minority whip steve scalise and ranking g.o.p. member jim jordan. you are at a event with the president in baton rouge today. what can congress do about this? this is a local decision making process, is it not? >> laura, it's good to be back with you. vice president pence came today. we actually did the event at tiger stadium and we had the president of the lsu system, the president of the southern university system, we had our governor john bel edwards, as icwell as members of vice president pence's team talked about reopening schools. both of the system presidents talked about what they are doing to come back to college, talking about their plans to safely reopen. look, this is america, we put a man on the moon, we've stormed the beaches of normandy. we know how to get things done and people sitting in a room going, gee whiz, we can't do it, that's not the attitude we need right now. the real question should be whether or not to do it but how to do it safely and we can do it safely and i'm glad states liken minor moving forward. we need to get every state for theit help and benefit of these children thatee don't need anotr six months of homeschooling. >> congressman jordan, earlier tonight we went through some of the science from germany whiches has done testing on students and teachers. thousands and thousands of tests. none of this decision-makers showing kids have exceedingly low infectivity rate, so those concerns about infecting the teachers, they haven't seen it in europe. they just haven't seen it. speak of the facts and truth are on our side, laura. what's more important, going to school or protesting? what's more important, going to church are protesting? going to a loved one's funeral or protesting? going to work or protesting? it seems to me the only thing democrats think you can do during covid's protests, riots, attacked the police and defund the police but we have to go back to school, we have to get back to normal, the facts and truth are on our side. let's let local school boards, moms and dads, i think moms and dads probably know what's best for their kids, local school boardset know what is better for kids than joe biden in the basement of his house pronouncing these things. let's let local communities decide this and that. steve just said we can do it in a safe way, but democrats want to make everything political. let's just follow the truth and facts and let kids get back to school and start learning. >> laura: i would take issue with the a little bit. there are a lot of local school boards that have been completely dominated by the left because -- >> big-city ones, ones with the democrats, like new york, l.a. -- >> laura: arlington county, virginia, they basically went to a hybrid system. a couple of days a week in school. the rest of it they are going to be at home or maybe even all online learning. montgomery county all online learning. congressman, i'm telling conservatives you, want to have an effect? start running in these local elections. that's what you have to do. these superintendents are taking their orders from the teachers union. these people put the word doctor in front of their names. go ahead. >> you have to think about the health and welfare of the kids but the point of the public health school system is to help the children. this is america. there are good school systems figuring out how to do it and do it safely. they kids by the way, they are going to be out playing with their friends, doing other things that's much better to have in a controlled environment number one where they are learning, so we are not holding our kids back, but also where they are also being around people where they all have to have masks. the schools have their own protocols and they are going to keep these schools say but we have to get kids back in schools.lt it's important for the health and welfare of these kids. it's important for our economies of the parents are able to get back in school again. >> laura: it's almost like there is a concerted effort to tank the economy before the election. the cynicsyn out there would say pick oxmanou jordan, it isn't jt teachers, though, teachers unions taking advantage of the epidemic. here is aoc. >> americans have got more progressive in the middle of his pandemic. when people ask me how are you going to past this or past thath i tell them that we've got to win the senate and the white house, that's our legislative strategy for getting this stuff past. >> laura: congressman scalise, your response. >> well -- >> laura: sorry, let's go to jordan. >> i don't think they are going to win. he's done a great job leading our country. the great american comeback is happening. americans understand common sense, what needs to happen, and they are sick and tired of this liberal double standard where mayor garcetti can go out and lean to the mob without a mask but he's going to shut down schools? it's crazy and americans are going to remember that on the election day. >> laura: it's great toon see both of you. it's been a long time for thanks so muchlo for coming on. the president's niece released her new tell-all book in the media laughing at her diagnoses, but is it deficient? going to tell us the truth about mary's sniping next. i got this mountain bike for only $11. dealdash.com, the fair and honest bidding site. we sold an ipad worth $505 for less than $24. a stand mixer for less than $20. a 4k television for under $2. a macbook pro for under $16. as well as a playstation 4 for under $16. and brand new cars for less than $900. dealdash.com offers hundreds of auctions every day. all auctions start at $0 and everything must go. and don't forget, we offer a full 90 day money back guarantee on your first bid pack purchase. i won these bluetooth headphones for $20. i got these three suitcases for less than $40. and shipping is always free. go to dealdash.com today and see how much you can save. there are auctions going on right now, so what are you waiting for? >> laura: president trump's mary trump released her supposed >> laura: president trump's niece mary trunk released her tell-all today and writing, i have no problem calling donald and narcissists. they kids could be made that he also meets the generally considered sociopathic. but my next guest says mary trump's book reveals more about her and hernd own issues, than t does about the president. joining me now, can't wait to hear it, carol lieberman, clinical psychologis forensic p. dr. lieberman, what that she get wrong as far as you are concerned? >> she, mary trump, wants the public to believe everything she writes hook, line, and sinker. she is basing this on the fact that she is his niece and would be privy to family dynamics, family events and so on. in regards to that, first of all, she's 2020 years younger than the president's overview of the family would have been very different from his, so she is conjecturing she's trying to say to have what personality disorders, and plus if the family is as maliciously, malignant lee as the functional as she says, then she obviously would have been, and is, affected by that as well. so that is affecting her truth telling. however, even more i importantl, she says t that we should beliee her because she's a psychologist, and a phd. however, new york state has no reference of her being licensed as a psychologist. >> okay. new york, according to you looking into this, yours research, she is not licensed in new york as a clinical psychologist, really? >> yes. unless she is going under some unassuming name which they normally don't permit. >> laura: we got that. hold on a second, doctor. here's a snippet from mary trump interview with nbc's george stuff all george stephanopoulos which will air tomorrow. >> you see the president in the oval office, and you start saying, don't let them get you down. did you mean that? >> i did. he said they won't get me so far. looks like he was right. >> laura: if you were in the oval office today, what would you say to him? >> resign. >> laura:an dr. lieberman, i don't know her. is that a lot of anger? what is that? >> she's a very can confused woman with her grandfather which -- i've read the whole book, does seem like he was rather cold and had some problems. but really she is angry at her father, her deceased father, and blaming all the problems her father had on donald trump and her grandfather as well. but who was an alcoholic, didn't really work to join for grandfather. he wanted to go fishing. well, donald was studying business and going along with father, trying to learn the family business. the motivations behind this are clearly agreed because she's angry she didn't get her share of the family fortune, jealousy, jealousy of the success that donald trump has, politics, totally opposite. i could've written this book any time. trying to cash in now, at the end of the book, she apparently forgets that and if there's anything i would've said with m2 uncle before 2016, nobody would've listened here. >> laura:: dr. lieberman, you read it very carefully and we appreciate you joining us tonight. i will not read the book. no interest. after building up a big early lead in the polls, has joe biden gone too far to the left? h from pollster shares some interesting insight you won't see anywhere else. don't go away. >> laura: so joe biden has built up an early lead in the polls if you can believe them. but instead of pivoting towards the center, he has embracing radicalism. no more moderate joe. "washington post" is reporting that biden's version down my vision comes into view, must more liberal than it was. here now is jon mcglocklin, trump 2020 campaign holster. john, the president still faces a pretty big deficit and that rcp average. again, it was wrong before in 2016. but this is not 2016 for a variety of reasons. nearly ten points. what are the pollsters missing? >> that is based on poles of adults and registered voters. and i'll tell you, the same polls they did four years ago because they didn't think we could win are now coming out because they are afraid we are going to win. if the president had a great couple weeks, he lit up at 4.8 million new jobs. the mount rushmore speech, july 4th speech. joe biden admitted he wants to defund the police. and then he signs a socialist manifesto with bernie sanders where they are talking about open borders, subsidizing -- welfare benefits to illegal immigrants. cutting the military defense, it goes on and on. the president gave a great press conference today where he took it to joe biden and the campaign -- the polls are showing it. scott rasmussen's poll had us skating. had us within four come again and six again. >> laura: hold on, hold on. take a breath. your point, we have one minute here. your point is that biden is actually losing momentum on the national stage? >> yes, he's losing momentum on the national stage and that's 911 ad is doing great in terms of realizing people were changing the issues and were moving things in the direction of the president and that biden -- > laura: quick point here. the issue for schools and reopening in 15 seconds, how important is that for women voters who want their kids back in schools? >> very important. because the argument is what does more harm to their children? we can reopen the school safely with guidance principles, or their kids don't go to school. so they lose ground. so what is more harmful to their children? >> laura: all right, scott, thank you. that was 15 seconds ♪ >> laura: kanye west audacious presidential campaign has come to an abrupt >> kanye west audacious presidential campaign has come to a end. ben jacobs reached out to connie's publicist about the lack of ballot access, the initial response was to be been another person on the email once he went dark. as i waited for response i followed up with his get out the vote special steve kramer who told me he is out. i thought it was going to be fun. take it all from here, shannon. shannon: we were hoping somehow he would get into be the third man in the trump biden debate because that would have been more popcorn. they are going to be anyway. shannon: of the debates actually happen. shannon: we will see. >> fox news election alert. in the rose garden the president making it clear
