Npr repaid it with a phony fact check where they insisted that the number of women in congress was, quote, almost entirely because of democrats, not trumps party. Speaker pelosi attempted to make the same insipid point he forgot to acknowledge that theres only 15 republicans and 91 Democratic Women in the congress of the United States. So it was weird, youre bringing this up . Laura now this is a woman that looked like she was reading a menu at a Chinese Restaurant during the speech and she was saying that was weird . The president never said we have more women serving in congress than ever before, he merely said there were more women serving. I guess some people cant take a compliment. But it doesnt matter. The American People saw the president trying to reach out. They also saw a side of him that often gets lost. The caring, grandfatherly and yes even tender side of donald trump. He didnt mention them this is the same speech donald trump always gives this is an angry, race i felt platform that has been surrounded by sweet stories, and world war ii veterans. Laura oh my god. I mean they sounded so ridiculous. Like sex trafficking and criminal justice reform. Were going to get into this. But that is justice honest. Its ridiculous for them to say. That what the state of the union did was remind the American People of how much good the president has done over the last two years. Not perfect but hes done a lot of things, not only economically either. Also on Foreign Policy which hes derided for, but also for the cause of life, the most vulnerable among us. The speech showed the discrepancies between his policies and the policies of the left. Think about the left, the democrats, theyre the party of the infanticide, open borders, drug legalization, racial li liesing politics. Banning cars, the green agenda, and for some, socialism whats your view of your partys drift . Not entirely, but in many prominent members toward socialism . I wouldnt quite call it socialism. Democratic socialism. Yeah. But the bottom line is that all of us believe when you look at the state of the union on the economy, its not good for middle class families. And so you know, you have to focus on whats really happening here. And the president is just not doing that. Laura its a softer version of socialism, schumer style. Well the president may not have United Congress last night but he unified many, i think out there watching, the American People. Bite kind of pulling off the mask of some of these in a sayers, the negativity purveyors of the Democratic Party today during that speech. People were saying it was too long but i got a text from people saying they wanted it to go on longer. They loved the stories and the hope in that speech. And i think many saw perhaps for the first time the reality of what the left represents, and how opposed they are to the common sense good policies that trump has brought to washington. The petulance and the nastiness that democrats displayed last night i think is going to be remembered well into 2020. So will Donald Trumps confidence, kindness, dont worry, the dems were hard at work trying to repair their reputations today as the chair of the House Judiciary Committee the jerry nadler chalked up a big win for his party. Out of step with the rest of the country yeah they wouldnt even cheer when the president was talking about how unemployment for african americans, hispanics at an all time low, growth for middle income wage earners ten year high. They had bitterness they wouldnt acknowledge donald trump has led the country. I tried to look at the arc of democratic opposition, it started with the moment President Trump is elected. They said not my president , immediately protestors, resistance a term used against the nazis in france. Then the electoral college, trying to undo the results of the election and record 65 democrats, onethird of the Democratic Caucus boycotted the president of the United States inaugural. Hes never had a chance. No matter what he does. This is a huge part of it that the media doesnt like to talk about, the democrats have led the edge in breaking those norms. Its probably temporary but ed a good job. Schiff has to go back to the nonsensical conspiracy theory. Hes been embarrassed. Hes been on other networks, none have come true and he has to save face. Thats all they have. They have nothing else but to try it damage him. Its all politics to them. Not about helping america. Laura i think his numbers are pretty good. He took a dip a month ago or so. His numbers had gone down. You dont want them to go below 40, you just dont. You know at that that from bush in 2006 when his numbers started to go down. That was a warning sign for the 2006 midterms. It was a disaster for republicans. You cant just blow off the approval numbers, you have to keep them up. I think this speech last night, i think it did, though. I think it showed him as hopeful and optimistic. I think people want that about the future of the country. It was stuff democrats can work with them on if theyre honest laura youre raising a fundamental issue. The president s numbers are not good, theyre quite low in an economy this strong. The president has made himself a bit of a but in the china shop. Everywhere he goes he brings the china shop with him. Theres one thing to go to washington to disrupt, the other is if he never allows himself to grow in the middle. Last nights speech was very good in that sense. The cant just be a once a year event. Thats the issue with the president. He has to face, the base is loyal and solely. I wish he could get more people in the middle of the country. Laura you need the independents, the base, you kneeled the wall built, national emergency, were going anything that direction, got to get the wall built, no ifs, ands are buts.
