join such a tremendously and successful philanthropic group of people. congrats to bret. thank you for watching special report. i'm trace gallagher. the "the angle" starts right now. >> laura: i'm all of your preparations so you know what to do if you start to feel any trembling. it's been 139 years since we've had anything like this in the greater new york city area. around 240 years in new jersey. i just want to show you the difference between east coast and west coast earthquakes. west coast in 2004, there was a 6.4 earthquake. you see the area that felt that. in 2011 we had a 5.8, in central virginia. look how much land mass felt it. it's just the way the ground is built across much of the eastern seaboard. 4.8 earthquake earlier, 14 states had people who felt this. you can see the intensity in parts of new england, down across parts of the central atlantic. obviously the worst in new jersey. they experienced strong shaking. no significant reports of any kind of big damage, which is great news but i tell you, having a 4.0 about eight hours after this people will certainly still be on edge for a little longer. laura? >> laura: thanks so much. all right. biden, no job. that's the focus of tonight's "angle." you have to hand it to them. they keep trying to put lipstick on a pig, in isolation, the numbers can even sound pretty impressive. >> since i took office, america has had the strongest growth of any major economy in the world. nearly 15 million new jobs. wow but if this is true why are so many americans down about the biden economy, and why is trump leading in six of seven swing states? and, by the way, why are voters under 30 so pessimistic? the bloomberg morning poll has trump leading biden by seafood points among voters ages 18-34 in those swing states. it's a stunning reversal from 2020 when biden won 61% of the voters under 30. the white house and media stamp their feet here and they are frustrated that voters aren't giving them any credit for an economic rebound. >> americans not feeling great about the economy despite the numbers and not giving president biden any credit. >> people are feeling better about the economy, but joe biden isn't getting any credit for it. >> i think biden has to bring it altogether. focus on his accomplishments which are record accomplishments to continue to tie the great things that he's done to the economy so credit. >> laura: the high cost of rent, home mortgage rates, gas, everything, means there is no economic rebound for most americans. and, man, they are feeling it. when it comes to spending, on just about anything the truth is very ugly for biden. >> the economy -- it's kind of hard for people to make any moves forward for their lives. it feels like everything is more expensive. paying more foreeverything. prices are higher. you can feel that every day when you go to the store. >> everything that you can think of has gone up significantly. >> what have you been hit hardest by? housing, groceries? >> i would say housing and groceries. >> laura: a "wall street journal" analysis found that commonly purchased grocery items have increased by a staggering 36.5% in costs over the past five years. that's far higher than the figures provided by the feds which show food price inflation of 25.2%. so much for biden. but perhaps the most disrespectful fact of all relates to who is actually getting all of these new jobs. it looks like a lot of the job growth is going to nonamericans. which the "new york times" hints at today saying immigration is helping to meet hiring demands. creating a flood of potential workers that's both super charging the job market and leading to surprises and quirks in closely watched economic data. now, pre-pandemic, the net migration, legal and illegal coming into america was about 900,000. but with biden's open border that number in 2023 soared 3.3 million. almost four times the rate of before. staggers. of course, the media, want us all to believe that we should love the foreign workers and the open border because the results in population is also fueling strong hiring. well, that's not exactly how americans feel. >> not fair. no. >> money going everywhere except taking care of us. who is taking care of us? >> you think american citizens should be given priority for jobs? >> a hundred percent. >> take care of your own first. >> laura: some workers are fighting back? 20 american workers hired are suing the company after being replaced by visa holders. now, this phenomenon is not new. disney got into a huge controversy in 2015 when did it the same thing but under biden this trend of sidelining american workers for foreigners is increasing. again, americans are always last. and the left still doesn't get -- the america first policy, they are still confused by that and more than half of registered voters in a poll in battleground states say they either strongly or somewhat approve of the job that trump did as president. only 38% say the same about bide president's performance. >> american manufacturing is back, folks. american manufacturing is back. [applause] >> jobs are back. manufacturing is back. >> we can be the manufacturing capital of the world again. >> laura: nice try. job reports shows zero growth in manufacturing jobs. zero. it's important to note that the second biggest category in job growth was among government workers. so this is big government, big bureaucracy, not big manufacturing. the jobs numbers today will not move the needle on public opinion any more than biden's state-of-the-union address did but you can expect the biden campaign to keep trying to reassure his donors that any day, any day, the tide will turn. >> you know what? once people start to focus in and they see their two choices, it's obvious that joe will win this election. >> laura: how condescending of dr. jill because even if her guy can't focus anymore the people are plenty focused on just how fast we've downtown hill under his leadership and that's "the angle." joining us now, founder and ceo of american majority, and charlie -- "washington times" opinion editor and fox news contributor. when i saw this second category of job growth at 71,000 jobs in government, i said, of course, that's right. i said, oh, the manufacturing must be really robust if these numbers of 303,000 -- zero. so much for made in america. >> no, i mean, first of all, most of the american people aren't going to care about fake job numbers that are political propaganda, which by the way next month, laura, will probably be revised down. but yes, that was one of the things that struck me. 71,000 government jobs, zero manufacturing and then looking at the other setors, construction, healthcare, hospitality, most of those are part-time jobs. i guess my question, looking at that, how many full time jobs for american citizens were added, and i would guess not very many. over the last 12 months the u.s. economy has lost 1.3 million full time jobs. laura, you're right. in your monologue you were talking about the real numbers americans care about. paying almost 40% more for groceries since 2019. gas prices are more than 30% than they were under trump. energy prices are up and the average family is paying $700 more per month just to maintain the lifestyle they had four years ago. those are the pocketbook issues. the real economic numbers that the american people are looking at, that they are going to be voting on this november. >> laura: charlie, cnn was trying to help the biden administration with, again, rebranding this somehow or trying to get why the voters don't feel all this economic optimism out there. listen to this q&a. >> are you frustrated by the fact that people aren't giving biden administration credit for this, that americans don't feel that things are better? >> there is a tremendous amount of hope, optimism. when i talk to people this say they feel a security they haven't felt in some time. >> laura: again, joey, tremendous optimism out there. that people are wrong. it's not hurting them to go to the grocery store or fill up their car anymore. none of it is hurting them. >> their posture is always to blame the citizens. blame the innocent citizens. the problem that they have is, that americans aren't appreciative enough of the great job joe biden is doing and giving jobs mostly to illegals, and also, as you pointed out, to government workers, when you reported that, i actually burst out laughing. both times, when you reported that number, because it is so extraordinary. i think it's a perfect reflection of the contempt that the biden administration, that president biden himself has for american workers. they do not care about american workers, and ned is exactly right about that when it culls to the bureau of labor statistics, labor department statistics, government statistics, of all of these numbers, he's right about that. they are going to yet again revise all those numbers down as they have had to do, i think it's six or seven times over the considers of the biden administration. every time they report these numbers, it turns out that they have forge -- forced the labor department to boost the numbers, or whatever they need, to have good numbers and every time they revise them they revise them down. you have a government agency in charge of giving real statistics to americans lying about them, in order to make the administration look better. >> laura: ned, out in california, big news, when the 99 cent only stories announced they were closing all 371 locations nationwide. a lot of them are here on the west coast. and i believe the total number of jobs lost, 14,000 jobs lost, and they are citing shoplifting, high cost of products, et cetera. they specifically mentioned the retail theft as one of the big, big problems they were facing. heartbreak. >> it really is, again brought on by biden's policies, lawlessness, destroying law and order in the urban areas, the lawlessness that's taking place on the southern border where, you know, untold numbers of illegal immigrants are coming in. we all know that those countries like venezuela, they aren't sending their best. this all starts to have a cumulative effect and you're starting to see it play out not only in law and order but also economically. again, as stores shut down because of retail theft. the economic impact that it has on the lives of the american people. at some point, i would hope that the american people, again, when they take a step back, forget the propaganda being pushed on them by the corporate propagandaists, applauding for fake job numbers i think they will take a step back and go, my life is not better under joe biden. that's the most important question in a presidential election. am i better off than i was four years ago and i don't think most of the american people can say that. >> laura: charlie, this story about the foreign workers replacing american workers are getting the bulk of the job growth, which we've beening covering for months on "the angle," this came to light a year ago but now it's only picked up, that's especially humiliating for american workers, to have to train their foreign replacements. i hear this time and again, especially in the software sector and the consulting sector, and again, the libertarians love this. cheaper labor, and this is supposed to be all great but it certainly don't feel great for those workers. >> again, it's absolute contempt for american workers, and it's not like this is just some sort of fly-by-night thing. these are the beliefs of the democratic party. these are the beliefs of joe biden, and the people that run the party now. and it's been their beliefs for some time. this is their considered approach to how to run an economy. how to govern. it's interesting, you know, as horrifying and as insulting and humiliating as you point out that it is, to have all of these new jobs going to foreign workers, there is another angle to it that's kind of like -- it's like a self-fulfilling evil prophecy, and that is, you remember when joe biden declared, all the democrats declared, they wanted to force american citizens to pay for healthcare for illegal aliens, that is their considered belief. that's their considered policy position. and that's what they believe, and, of course, what happens? you get millions of illegals coming across the border because they hear, oh, i'm going to get my free healthcare from the american people. it's the same thing, when joe biden creates jobs for foreign workers instead of for american workers, many of those workers, by the way, fought for their country, and are great citizens, when do you that, all you do is you just encourage millions more illegals to come across the board and come into the country, but they don't care. as you point out it's cheap labor and they have nothing but contempt for american workers. >> laura: big business loves this, keep the bottom line low. to hell with america. it's great to see you. have a great weekend. the new inquisition claims another victim. this time courtesy of soccer star megan -- next. ego, the number one rated brand in cordless outdoor power brings you the select cut mower. customize the cut with three interchangeable blades. it cuts for over an hour on a single charge. ego - exclusively at lowe's, ace and ego authorized dealers. there's news, and there's good news. like thousands of patients receiving free life changing surgeries, from volunteer doctors and nurses on hospital ships. all made possible by donations. we love good news. when you need to prepare for unpredictable adventures... >> i think there is a lot of fingers to point at in this scenario. ultimately, i understand this is trickling down from the top. if we're talking specifically about the attack on christianity, obviously, as we saw on easter sunday, the most holy of christian holidays, the biden administration, the people in the white house leading this nation, actively proclaim this holiday as trans-visibilities day, and i thought it was so ironic that he goes on twitter, the president of the united states, joe biden and he posts happy trans-visibilities day. understand you're made in god. he did not finish that verse because after a bit it says male and female. and god created us perfectly and intentionally in his image, and to alter -- to try and alter that is a sin and what this administration is doing, trickling down from the top, understand this is their new religion. they want to advocate the religion as a whole -- i believe she wants to use her influence to harass someone into compliance -- >> laura: a 20-year-old. bullying. >> absolutely. >> laura: she's a complete bully. it's classic. classic school yard bully. the current co-captain of the women's national team weighed in on the controversy yesterday. watch. >> we worked extremely hard to uphold the integrity of the national team and we're extremely, extremely sad that this standard was not upheld. >> we stand by maintaining a safe and respectful space, especially as allies, and we'll keep using this platform to give attention to causes that are important to us. >> laura: well, i don't know what they will feel when ultimately woman's soccer becomes just another version of men's soccer, for men who couldn't make it in the actual men's category. so maybe they will feel more included then. i'm not really sure, riley. >> i know it. listening to these two amazing phenomes in soccer, it's good that they are allies to the lgbtq community, seemingly means they aren't allies for women. corbin essentially came down on her beliefs in a world where conformity is king, standing firm in your beliefs isn't just courageous. it's revolutionary. no apologies, no backing down. all of your convictions shatter the mold and demand respect. i believe true power comes from being unapologetically you and i wish corbin would stand by her beliefs. >> laura: that would be real girl power but she's 20 years old and she has her whole life ahead of her. there aren't many of you, riley. we need more. great to see you. retaking america requires more than just the presidency. two senate candidates who could flip their states are next. how do you transform your outdoor space into your favorite room?
