Hunter biden facing those charges, two of those are false statements, one is possession. It happened in delaware back in 2018 when the president s son or then the former v. P. s son, hunter biden, possessed that gun for 11 days. He checked no that he was not addicted to illegal substances on a federal firearms form. So now he is facing those three felonies. The second charge is a false statement made to a person who worked at that gun shop in delaware. He could face up to 25 years behind bars for all three of them. You mentioned the plea deal that critics called a Sweetheart Deal fell apart when the government could not guarantee that hunter would be immune from any future prosecutions. I dont think in all the discussions we see in the media today, the real severity of this is properly being explained. In 2018, we had this gun found by hallie biden in a trash can and it was near a school. This was only 11 days after it was illegally purchased by hunter biden. It was a big threat to the community. It could have been a tragedy if the wrong person had got their hands on that gun back then and thats why these questions on these federal forms matter and why we dont want people not in their right mind, whether due to some type of psychosis or drug addiction, we dont want these people to possess guns. This is what happened. Law enforcement has known about this for years and years. Quite frankly its low hanging fruit. They could have brought this indictment at any time. Why do we have to wait until now . Were three weeks away from the statute of limitations . Why did it take that long . The bigger question with respect to weiss is this the end of weiss and his investigation of all things hunter or is this just the beginning, harris . Is he going to go further and look into some of the alleged financial violations that we hear about with respect to hunter . Will he dig into things that might implicate other bidens or even the president. Harris you say there is more to come. There is a lot of doubt that there is any more to come. If his name were hunter smith and lied on a gun form to illegally obtain a weapon this situation might be different. That person might not have familial privilege. This guy has a ton of it. Thats why i say why did it take so long . Congress needs to ask that question. Congress needs to get answers to why the department of justice dragged its feet for nearly five years bringing a case that is literally a simple case to draft that indictment, present it to the grand serb jury. If you get a federal indictment there will be some jail time. We may see another Sweetheart Deal before all is said and done with hunter biden and his negotiations in terms of resolving this new indictment. A poll taken before the indictment shows 50 of americans have little or no confidence that the d. O. J. Is handling the investigation fairly. There is a big partisan divide. 60 of republicans and just 7 of democrats say they are extremely or very concerned about whether joe biden committed any wrongdoing when it comes to hunters shady business dealings. What is the disconnect there that you see politically . Is facts are all laid out. Well, you know, if were talking about weiss going and looking into these things, these financial irregularities, the multiple Shell Companies that have no obvious product that they sell or service that they provide, a lot of these things happened years and years ago. Weiss may be running into a statute of limitations issue if he decides to pick up and run with some of these. Thats why congress is doing it. Congress can is not bound by the statute of limitations in terms of an Impeachment Inquiry. When you have dozens of Shell Companies that bring in millions of dollars from foreign sources and these companies dont produce anything, they dont sell anything, they dont provide any service. If that money then flows to hunter biden or any other biden Family Member there are very legitimate questions that have to be asked. Whether it rises to the level of an impeachment i dont know yet. The American People deserve to know whats happening. Once the facts of these things come out, i think the American Public can have some confidence that the truth has come out. As soon as they started talking things took a turn here. It has been pretty chaotic. Lots of screaming. No arrests that weve seen at this time. A lot of people wanting to know what is going on. There were counter protestors yelling at the migrants and saying close the border. People yelling specifically at aoc saying she needed to do more and sick of the finger pointing. We saw some of the officers trying to get into the crowd to settle things down and really nothing settled. People werent listening to anything the nypd officers had to say. Theyre reopening the sidewalk trying to let people come in and out. It has been really busy here. As you mentioned you are coming around and not far from the studios. So many people all the time that sit outside and lines of migrants. People have nowhere to go. Thats what people who live and work around here have said and what it ended up turning to. They thought they were going to have a quick Press Conference and some of the counter protestors had different ideas. They want to be heard and thought if you want to do the Press Conference you can hear from us, too. Harris and part of the issue for the democratic leadership is they are not here. They havent been here to see this play out. And some of the issue here is the fact that roosevelt and other locations where they try to put these people who have come across our border, many illegally, so many of them among the million and a half gotaways, we dont know who they are. They have filled up the shelters and now those people are forced onto the Streets Of New York. When i say night and day, you dont want to be Walking Around up and down the avenues of new york too close to the epicenter here in mid town where we are and where roosevelt is, you will bump into people beneath you, beneath your feet. They are sleeping on the sidewalks of new york. So the question now becomes where do you put them all . Alexis, they have been trying to look at places like Randalls Island and others and kicking school clubs out from doing their activities and putting these people in their place. New yorkers have had it. Whats really interesting, i would love to know how many of them are politically identifying. They dont need to, do they . It wasnt because they were democrats it was because aoc thought she could walk in here roll out three points of contention as she says, solve the problems and go back to her cozy life. Pretty much. Thats what people are fed up with all angles from it. Weve heard from the mayor how many times saying he is doing everything he can. Calling on the white house to help him. They are telling him he is not doing enough. People who live and work here are sick of the finger pointing and thats why it became so chaotic. People feel like they are not being heard. So i think this was the best time for them to show how they really felt when aoc was standing here talking about work permits and trying to what some people thought was candy coat the situation.
