The white house has criticized the cbo for not taking into account phases two and three of the overall plan which aimed to lower the cost of insurance and prescription drugs. Phases two and three havent been crafted yet. How are they supposed to take into account something that doesnt yet exist . I think thats a question for the house. There are constraints put on the cbo in terms of what they can consider. The point we want to make is if members are going to base their vote office score, they need to understand the totality and comprehensive nature of the entire program. Trumpcare is a wreck, and we all knew that before the congressional Budget Office released its surprisingly scathing score last night. Democrats are having a field day with the cbo report, tweaking the president for putting his name on everything from hotels to Water Bottles but not this. No one wants to claim this bill. If its so good, why arent they rushing to have their names on it . Trump wants to call it ryan care. Ryan wants to call it trumpcare. Classic abbott and costello. The prince was keen to meet President Trump as early as possible to reemphasize the importance of the relationship between the two countries and reinvigorate the partnership weve had with the allies and partners for 50 years. Saudi arabia has been a stable and reliable partner for the United States and i think the prince was keen to make sure we can move into the 21st century together in a positive and mutually beneficial way. Bret as you know, candidate trump did not shy away from saying what had to be done with gulf states paying their fair share for protection are going after isis, something he reiterated after getting elected. Here he was in december. When i look at whats going on in syria, its so sad. Its so sad. And weve got to help people. We have the gulf states. They have nothing but money. We dont have money. I will get them to give us lots of money and we will build and help build safe zones in syria so people can have a chance. Bret what about that . Save zones in syria and you all helping to pay the bill. Saudi arabia has always been keen to play its role in the region and partnership with the u. S. We are more than ready to cooperate with the United States on countering isis in syria, in iraq come across the region. Not just financially but the saudi government offered to send its troops into syria to fight isis. That was not meant with met with enthusiasm by the Obama Administration. We are more than ready to support the u. S. In eradicating isis. Not just financially but with troops and people. Bret do you think that plan is getting to fruition, that the secretary of defense has worked on the president , talking about it and save zones inside syria, is that a part of it . I dont know if safe zones were discussed today but i know that saudi arabia is keen that the fight against isis doesnt just involve eradicating it today but making sure that the ground that helps it come to fruition in syria and iraq doesnt exist in the future. We have to make sure that the people in syria and iraq that are liberated from isis can live peacefully, live in harmony. That i think involves, in syria, protecting them from the Syrian Regime and from its iranian allies. Bret saudi arabia is in the middle of instituting reforms, many reforms. While that is happening, the u. S. Is considering whats going to happen with the u. N. Rights council. Just today, secretary of state tillerson wrote a letter. Tillerson in the letter to the u. N. Advocates and says while the United States evaluates the effectiveness of the council, it remains skeptical about the virtue of membership in a Human Rights Organization that includes states with troubled human rights records. He mentions china, egypt, saudi arabia. We have always had an open dialogue with the United States about the issue of human rights. We have always acknowledged, that there are some deficiencies in the saudi system. We disagree on some of the assessments the u. S. Has on it but we will continue to have the dialogue openly and frankly and work together. Making sure human rights are respected. Bret what does reforming for people inside saudi arabia if it goes as you expect and what is it mean for countries if that happens around the region . Muslim communities and other countries. The government in saudi arabia is very focused on empowering its people to be successful, to be able to have a good life, good lifestyle. As long as we have an improvement in the level of education, opportunities for young folks. Women as well and all that, i think it will marginalize the voices of extremism and if we can set a good role model for the region, hopefully others will follow us. Bret there are some economic magazines who talk about saudi arabia and deflation and that they have serious concerns about the economy. I think the economy is stable. Deflation is less of an issue. We have had the Oil Prices Going down and we are relying on the oil price. Thats one of the things we are focused on. The deputy crown prince, his main issue is the program focused on moving us away from a dependence on oil on a much more dynamic economy based on information technology, skills that allows us to go into the 21st century without this reliance on the oil price, which will allow our economy to whether all of these challenges very well. Deals with what the president calls extreme vetting and institutes the travel ban of six nations primarily muslim nations, that they have said, the Administration Says they have trouble with their visas over their coming here. My understanding is that the prince did discuss it today and President Trump reemphasized the fact that it was not directed at muslims as a religion but a countries at which the vetting procedure is just not there to allow for safely understanding he was coming to the u. S. Saudi arabia has very stringent standards as to who it allows the country.
