arrived with a date. Oh. And he was very charming and great mind and great energy. We had connection from the beginning. And when was the next time that you saw him . We saw each other, i think around a week because i had obligations, work obligations. I travel to caribbean for a photo shoot. So, when i came back, i called him and we got together. So i called him . Yes. He didnt call you . Well, at first when we met, i didnt give him my number. He was with a date. So i told him give me your number and i will call you. I wanted to see what kind of number he would give me. Business . Home . If he would give me business number, im not a girl doing business with him why he would give me a business number . So he gave me all of them. And when i came back, i said give me your number, promise i will call you, and i came
back after the photo shoot and i called him. So then you went out on a date . We went on a date and we had a great time. Where did you go . We went to roomba, a place in new york, downtown. It was fun place and we stayed for quite a long time. And had a great chemistry. Did you think maybe there is a possibility with this guy . Might want to marry him later or was that way too soon . Way to soon. You need to know somebody. You need to spend time with the person and you dont know yet in such a quick time. You cannot know marrying a person or not, especially the known person as he was. Its very different when you are dating celebrating or if you are dating somebody unknown. There were several years later before you got married. Yes. We were together like before we got married for seven years we know each other. So he asked to you marry you. Where were you he asked you to marry you. Special night gala in new york. We were both dressed and he asked me to marry me. No hesitation . No. But i was i knew a little bit that he might propose sooner or later. So same things. We are very independent. We gave each other space as well. So he does what he wants to do and he loves to do. And i do what i love to do. That was my decision not to go and to campaign because i said i want to be a parent to my child. And he completely agreed with that and i said i would be there when i can be there. And support him 100 percent
every day all the time. I dont wish hardship on anybody. But hardship often shapes one. What do you think is probably his worst hardship in life . I think when he lost his brother. How old was he when that happened . I think he was a teenager. What happened to his brother . His brother was very successful pilot. And he had the problem with alcohol and drugs. Not so much maybe the drugs but more alcohol. And he passed away. And he always teach donald and said to him dont drink, dont smoke, you know, do the best, so he learned a lot from him and that really shaped me in one way as well. My husband doesnt drink, i dont drink. My husband doesnt smoke, i dont smoke. We dont do drugs. We are working very hard to enjoy life. Very important. Its only one life. You know his other children, of course. Yes. Do you get along with them . Very nice children. We had a great relationship now that we were traveling a lot for the debates and went to iowa and New Hampshire we pentagon a lot of time together, very nice kids. Do you get a knot in your stomach at the debates with donald up on the stage. No, i dont. You dont at all you dont get nervous for your husband. No, i dont. How do you not. I know him. And then, when possible was open own business, when slovenia separated, he opened his own business, was successful at it and now its most of the time he is spending here with us in new york or wherever we go and traveling back and forth. When did you become a professional model . About what age . I was professionally professional i was 22 because i started before. So i moved then to millan in paris. And then in 1996 i came to
new york. Why did you come to new york . Why not stay in paris or millan . I had an agent in paris and they saw me there. And they said we would love that you work for us in new york. So thats how i came. I came with visa here. And after few years, i applied for a green card. And then for the citizenship. You bring up the issue of immigration. You came here legally . Correct. I take it thats a big deal to you . It is a big deal. Because you follow the law. You obey the law. And i think other people should do that, too. I never thought just to sneak in to stay here it never crossed my mind. You want to be professional and you want to do the things the right way. He is amazing guy. The relationship we have is incredible. And just kind of the family dynamic we have. Most of the time Family Businesses are total disasters. What we have been able to keep together, he, ivanka, don, myself and what we have been able to do around the world building the greatest hotels and Golf Properties and having a blast doing it here he is winning the g. O. P. Right now. I couldnt be more proud. Do you want him to be president . Listen, i think the man would do absolutely amazing job. So the answer is yes. I have been encouraging him before he announce to do run. When you have unique insight on a person and see their qualities and how good they are at what they do i think they would do phenomenal job for this country. I mean, you have got two siblings. The three of you have been working with your father a long time who is going to be the ceo. Ivanka is my best friend in the world and don is my best friend in the world. We have a great system together. Work hand in hand in everything. disproportionately successful in our organization. That doesnt get enough credit. He doesnt get enough credit for being the businessman that he is and creating what he has created. Do you think he wants to be president . Oh, i think without question. And, again, he wants to do it because he is fed up with whats going on in this country, inefficiency. The stupidity, the people making trillion dollars deals who have never made deals in any way, shape, or form in their lives. Enough is enough. I think thats whats resonating resonating with people. Real americans like the message is he delivering. They are fed up, too. They have been powerless to do anything about it he has given them that voice. Its amazing to seat reaction we get from people. You know, across all the spectrums, you know, around the country when they talk about how much they love him and how they think he can really do what we think he can do for this country and its been amazing. When you were a kid, did you play catch with him or two look at property . We were definitely more of a go look at property kind of a family. My mother did a great job on the other side. We had grandparents that were so involved. That said, he was always there for us. He always made sure that, you know, if he was in the biggest meeting of his life if we called he would pick up the phone. If he was negotiating huge deals and we were at the office we would be playing with trucks on the floor while he was dealing with billionaires and making big deals. It was interesting.
