first and second degree murder. investigators are hard at work. this case left authorities frustrated and families would over the years. even as recently as two weeks ago, this man was still allegedly in the community. more on that in a few minutes a lot of digging to be done into the father of two. suffolk county undersheriff kevin catalina joins me now. kevin, thank you for joining the program. you guys have been on this for a while and i guess the big question is, why did it take so long? >> i think there's a few reasons but what i would like to do is first, condolences to the families and the reason it took so long, it's hard to say but i will say the current administration in the district attorney's office and sheriff's office and police department and state police, fbi put all of their resources into this and did a phenomenal job putting it together. fantastic teamwork, a task force mr. harrison kind of announced a while back. i got together with esther attorney tierney and we put all of our resources toward an very happy with the results so far. we got a lot of work to do, there are still additional bodies, victims that need justice but we hope that comes in time. >> so why just the three so far and not the full 11? >> we don't know the full 11 are necessarily involved with human. we were able to prove beyond reasonable doubt or will be able to prove he is responsible for the three he's been charged with so far. we are anticipating the fourth as well but we said from the beginning those four bodies, four victims were very similar in nature and we also the victims of one individual and able to prove that, additional bodies, there are different methods of disposal and we are not certain -- we don't suspect they are but again, every victim is important and we are going to go after each and every one of them. >> i know you maintain law and order in your policing and we appreciate you guys being part of this task force bringing us the insight you have, thank you for joining the program. >> thank you. >> as i said at the top of the hour, we know as recent as two weeks ago the suspect was scaring those in his community. a long island woman who had disturbing encounter that impelled her to have a police report. >> good evening, the woman 25-year-old allie tells the new york post she was shocked when she saw saw the face of the man believed to be a serial killer. she says the same suspect, rex heuermann them up behind her on a bike ride in great part minutes away from his home. she said he asked her name, another personal question and tried to complement her. allie added he had dirty clothes on, he popped right out of the woods, everywhere i went, he would pull out someone. she said she made her so uncomfortable she called her sister to pick her up before filing a police report about the whole encounter. fast-forward two weeks when the news broke about his arrest, allie told the post my mom showed me the picture and i started screaming, i got so nervous because i realized that was a one woman tells fox for an interview for the census bureau a decade ago and was invited inside his home. >> very disgusting smelly, not somewhere you want to live but he acted very intelligent like he knew the words to say what she's shocked, scared for me because i live alone here so my father to come out from queens, so i have to lock my doors now equate town, family, community. >> a chilling story is more details come to light. >> thanks, brian. forensic pathologist fox news contributor doctor michael examined the victims, what type of guy are we talking about and what you see in the wound examined? >> i was asked by the family of shannon gilbert to do a re-examination for its casino because the initial report found 2010, shortly after the berlin war were found, police decided she died of drowning in the marshy area and i did a re-examination and found he had a fractured hyoid bone which evidence she was strangled. 2016 and autopsy out there, the attorney for the family there tried to reach -- he reached the appropriate share of people who didn't respond. they weren't interested in 2016 that sharing might have been part of the persons who were murdered. just recently apparently in the new investigation when the prosecutor was able to get hold off her 911 call, she called 911 desperately on the 911 call saying somebody was behind her trying to kill her and that was the last time anybody heard from her so that has to be looked at also. >> got to bring in our friend, paul, former nypd inspector. if you can go into some of the details of this task force and maybe you can give insight of what the task force did, other djs and commissioners didn't do. >> i think there's a couple of storylines here and there are two see emerging. according to the report yesterday, the big break came to look back at the phones, they had known data they were sitting on. forensic tools to examine has come a long way so for what i'm hearing and also from the press conference, it sounded like the big break came from a look at the phones. however, different story emerging today probably a combination of this information for intelligence in the jails. i want to give kudos to your prior guess kevin catalina, they were part of the task force. apparently in the jail they develop information from the of one of the victims, costello. it was the who eyeballed mr. heuermann you need to look at this guy is not entirely clear if the rex heuermann, it argues that some time heuermann rebooked for lack of a better term, another encounter with his fellow because she's one of the victims so it's a complicated timeline, a real holistic look at this, a lot of talent check their egos at the door. you had grand jury keep things quiet and they do subpoenas and search warrants and a couple of breaks. the phones and informant in the question of diving into forensics will serve lift them up and dna. >> you want to get back in the. >> also the documents the prosecutor mentions, when costello was last seen by somebody who called or contacted 2022 task force saying he doesn't know but a big fellow, the last person i saw go in with her and had a green chevrolet avalanche. the worst pickup in 2010 and heuermann had a green avalanche. that was an important thing but also the dna information is interesting because we are familiar genetic dna, half from the mom and half from the father. this situation because five hairs that were found in 2010 and preserved three or four of the different disease, they were able to they couldn't find any regular genetic dna but they were able to identify mitochondrial dna which comes out one strand of dna just from the mother and that was hooked up and the one strand of hair when they got, that mitochondrial dna matched vertically to mr. 17 believable i love you guys, i've got to bring him back so we can go deeper into the case. you so much. coming up, joe biden's report last night who sat behind closed doors and keeping up a storm of controversy. after a quick do you ever feel dehydrated and need to feel better quickly? that is mean, cruel, heartless, almost bordering on soulless. you acknowledge grandchildren. forget the circumstances, acknowledge them. the fact that they report on this temper, this white house has not been known for leaking, interesting to me in that all of these aids are going on the record saying he's got a vision, f this and asked that and he's got a short fuse, coupled with this terrible week he had on the world stage by any objective measure, but i think is happening is a little deeper. maureen, she defended layton, she's hard-core liberal democrat and when she goes out hard after joe biden and usa goes that hard and atlantic is writing about why joe should get out of the race, to me it is not an accident, you put it together and you see democratic media establishment, an extension of the democratic party's press office and then you see democratic politicians not willing to jump on the biden reelection bandwagon and when they interceded this week, she was excoriated. i think what we are seeing is an ever evolving that they don't want joe to run in 2024. i've been arguing he's one major fall, nearly had it this week, he tripped again going up the stairs to air force one, one major fall away from what would be a tsunami of democratic criticism he needs to get out of the race. >> it's interesting because you are in line with the people, maybe they are late to the party but want to switch to the republican side. i came out strong based on what i was hearing from the american people as i travel around the country, as i go to diners and there was a lot of people saying donald trump has the base, he has the support of the republican party. i heard everywhere there are a lot of pundits who say want to say this was the guy in the mock hearing that, i'm not hearing back from the people and talking with. now we have new polling, he's dropping in the polls. the deck vivek ramaswamy is gaining, tim scott is gaining but now stealing the front runner. >> is a huge number. every poll is showing pretty much the same thing. the interesting side is the leftist trying to use the legal system, i believe is what denies our department of justice to destroy him and with every indictment and every attack, his poll numbers go up and they go up again and again and again. for anybody to be his heart, he would think about that, it will end up being at least four indictments probably by the end of the summer with fanny willis in georgia and fulton county. not a republican from the camp. i lived in georgia as you know or alvin bragg in new york, alvin bragg admitted he's afraid to go on the subway system in new york but charging from her servicemember in a case with the homeless guy but if you look at the jurisdictions, new york, florida, fulton county, georgia and likely washington d.c. if they indict on january 6 related issues, every time will numbers go up -- >> why is that? >> because i think people see injustice. we just had a durum report, a light to this country for three years. i'm proud of the fact that i had a great cast, sarah carter, john solomon, i can't mention everybody so what did the report say? >> seventeen. >> it was late at night with my brother, going the speed limit and lost control and got into a car wreck and my brother passed away. >> your brother? >> yes. >> how does that make you feel? >> i couldn't control my thoughts, i fell into drugs after that. after i recovered, i continued to take drugs. >> how did you end up here? >> my behavioral issues. >> what type of behavioral issues? >> court cases really. one of my mom's friends recommended lifeline, better myself as a person in a hole and make my mom and grandma proud, trying to better myself so i don't die at the age of 16 and i'm here and it's helping me, my aging to get my life better in check because if i keep this up, 20 years from now, i will be dead, homeless or in prison so i'm trying to do myself and change my future as much as i can. >> why do you care about this? why is it personal for you? >> i care about the use we work with because i used to be one. no programs were like this around when i was a teen growing up and i was heavy into drugs and gang banging and ruining my life so i figured if i can be a role model for each one of them, they are going to grow up and learn coping skills to deflect from that lifestyle. >> how bad was life for you growing up? >> i grew up in a dysfunctional family where if you were gang banging or using substances, you are not part of the family. a lot of abuse, a lot of total disarray and i was jumped into a gang by family members when i was 13. >> how long were you in the gang? we met about 16 years, i went down a path of destruction. i went to jail, prison, doing every drug under the sun to kind of numb myself i guess you could say and when i turned 26, i have a daughter who was born with down syndrome and that was my moment, i figured if i do something different, i'm going to ruin this little girl's life like i ruined my own. when my daughter was two years old, i enrolled into college and decided i was going to help youth. >> what led you to this program? >> this is where i started my career, i was doing restorative justice circles. >> i've had people in my family involved in gangs. >> are they in dance or is it -- >> my father's side of the family are heavy north siders and so are my brothers and i haven't seen my dad in years. my brothers have behavioral problems going in and out of jail in trouble with the cost, just trying to stay out of it as much as i can. >> what you want from your leaders, teachers, parents, what can they do to help life for you? >> for participating father figure. my mom helps me a lot but i want a father figure to teach me right from wrong. i've never had a father figure. >> what would have helped you before you were speeding with the car? >> it's not what i need, it's what i should have known already at the same time. my thoughts don't play their part and they don't teach kids what they are supposed to know. if they see you, they are going to want to do it, too. >> now that you have the resources you need, how are you living your live now? >> pretty good now. i've been sober a long time. >> how long have you been sober? >> almost two years. >> and what is helping you stay sober? sumac the community i surround myself with. >> what you gain from this community of the people who participate in the program? >> the testing is if someone was using a child as bait against somebody to stop from my experience, those are rare for something like that would be more geared toward a robbery and what is concerning her car was still running, her purse was there, her cell phone was still there, her apple watch was there and while it so robbery is clearly not the motive of this. why was she selected? rural road we see, there are numerous people passing through she happened to be the person who stopped for kids based on the phone call and she clearly vanished and was affected in that's the most concerning thing, robbery was not the motive, there was a reason she was selected. >> what is the working theory? obviously as you said, they are limiting robbery, what else would be a motive after someone just called the police? >> local law enforcement says they're leaving it open right now as far as what can be a potential motive. is it somebody who may know her and had an issue with her or something like that, it is a who done it right now. they got their hands full. >> is this still a missing person case or search and recovery case? >> we are going to find out who did this in somebody is protected in the white house because this is a joke. you are telling me there is no fingerprints, no dna on a bag of coke left behind at the white house? to the suspect decide to wipe it down before leaving it behind? we just saw that serial killer on long island. they found pizza crust distorted pizza box years later and was able to get dna off the but can't find it on the scope bag? all the cameras in the white house particularly next to the situation room from where they alone from jeffrey epstein's old prison cell? how is it possible the most surveilled property in the world has a blind spot as far as where the coke was left particularly in the sense of areas like this? they are telling there's no video evidence, what makes it important is let's say the white powder wasn't cocaine, it was anthrax. now you have something bought into the white house without anybody noticing and the person who left it got away with it so iran or china or russia or some terror group says wow, this person could get away with that, maybe we can and that's why it is a serious story but the media is saying zero well, just like the secret service nothing to see her, we couldn't figure it out, let's move on. >> joe, you covered the media, why is there no interest? >> let's put it this way, if this was a trump administration and this exact scenario happen, believe me, there would be plenty of interest but in this case, the main suspect, i'm not an investigator but i'm pretty sure if there is a coke addict or former coke out of the white house, the first person i will look at would be the former coke addict and that would be hunter biden and he's the forbidden fruit of journalism, the third rail, thou shall not pursue anything as it pertains 200 biden and therefore joe biden who obviously has unconditional love here and that is the important thing for this has a profound effect on our trust an institution is a row about from the messenger. 23% of the american people have trust in the presidency, 14% have trust in the criminal justice, 11% in television news, 7% in congress so institution after institution, almost nobody trusts and when the secret service conducts himself the way they do care when almost nobody believes they don't know who this may have come from what he should have done better effort in finding out, they won't even interview anybody who may be a suspect we don't have the resources they say, we are out of time. no you don't and you should for all the reasons we talked about. >> thirty seconds left, how does this impact the next election?
