The mortgage deduction will be compromised. You can keep that deduction, but once the bill is massed, the interest gets capped at half million dollars. I am assuming that means mortgages up to a half million deductible and beyond that no deduction. Is that a workable compromise to you . I think so. We havent seen the time. We are looking at the incentive for homeownership. That is a critical part of having a good society. And mortgage Interest Deduction is key to that. And i think it is fair to say that both house and senate and white house agree that mortgage Interest Deduction is an important intcentive for homeownership in the country. And married people it is doubled to 24000. They are expanding the Child Tax Credit and no more alternative minimum tax. Mortgage deduction is kept. I think they are getting a tax cut.
