Authorities told us yesterday they were belle financed and they got the weapons stockpile from abroad and part of a larger terror network. This 11minute video released on the internet it talks about more terror ahead. That france belongs to the army of satan. This new video posted on the web says that the strike on the paper was in vengeance for the prophet which is what the kouachi brothers yelled in the street after the attack. The french president announced he is sending an Aircraft Carrier to the middle east to help support the airstrikes against isis in iraq jon. Jon the threats though have not stopped that paper from putting another controversial cartoon on its cover. Reporter yeah, and its selling out. It you cant even find it on the streets of paris today. One newsstand reported it sold out in five minutes before dawn this morning. Some kiosks said there were scuffles that broke out over the last few copies on the newsstand. Nationwide the special issue of charlie hen dough sold out in two hours even though they million copies which is five times the normal circulation. Some vendors took names and numbers on waiting lists expecting copies to be delivered. One place you wont find the cartoon cover of muhammad in turkey. They have banned sale and websites from showing the image. French prosecutors are cracking down on anyone who speaks out in support of last weeks terror attack. They have detained 54 people in this country under the very strict antiterror law which restricts hate speech. Several of those people have already been convicted and put in jail which is striking because it is in direct contrast to Charlie Hebdos message of freedom of speech and independence, jon. Jon yeah, Rick Leventhal in paris. Thank you. Jenna what is happening overseas certainly impacting what is going on in washington, d. C. And seems there is a showdown on the way for capitol hill as the house getting ready to vote on department of Homeland Security appropriations that could defund the president s executive orders on immigration. At the same time the senate is moving forward with Keystone Pipeline legislation. The president says he will veto that. Our chief Congressional Correspondent mike emanuel brings it all together. He is live in washington with more. Mike . Reporter hi, jenna. You mentioned two of the five pieces of legislation that president obama has threatened to veto in just the first two weeks of this new congress. Take a live look at the house floor where we expect lawmakers will vote in the next hour or so on a 39. 7 billion package to fund the department of Homeland Security through september. House republicans proposed some amendments to this legislation to push back on president obamas executive action on immigration. Earlier the House Majority leader made this appeal to fellow members of congress. Let me be clear. This bill fund the entire department of Homeland Security. So that is not an issue here. So when we vote today there is only one question to ask do we weaken our constitution by allowing the executive to legislate . Or do we defend the most fundamental laws of our democracy . There is no middle ground. Reporter the immigration component has been the most emotional part of this debate. Gop members say the president overreached by going around congress. Key democrats are firing back at their republican colleagues. The action you take today i know you believe will cause fear and confusion and consternation in the immigrant community throughout this nation. So thereby causing the failure of the president s executive order because no one will sign up. But let me tell you something the fruits of your action today will cause only anger and outrage and the mobilization of an immigrant community throughout this nation. Reporter across the capitol the Senate Continues work on legislation authorizing construction of the keystone xl pipeline. That debate will continue into next week. The house passed keystone legislation last friday. That of course is another bill the white house has threatened to veto. Jenna . Jenna busy day down in washington. Mike, thank you. Jon now to the race for the white house in 2016. With the early republican field already looking crowded just a few of the potential candidates include jeb bush who is off to a fast start on the fundraising circuit. Mitt romney, who after months of shooting down questions about a third run is now sending strong signals that he might try again. While new Jersey Governor Chris Christie used last nights state of the state address to tackle national issues. Senator rand paul has hired a campaign manager. So lets talk about these potential candidates and more with Jonah Goldberg Senior Editor at the National Review and a fox news contributor. Juan williams is also with us a fox news political analyst. So it seems there will be no shortage of republican candidates. Those four have taken the most concrete steps juan, but who else is looking at getting into this race . Well our own colleague mike hub bee as you know is looking Mike Huckabee is looking to get into the race. Strikes me a number of people scott walker we talked about governor the wisconsin and some governors who have not raised their hats including john kasich in ohio are out there and look to have the, look to have some more passion attachment when it comes to the base of the party as opposed to, this is important divide here jon the donors, affluent donors that are really right now divided between the bushes and the romneys. Jon lets take a look at some video from four years ago, 2011. The republican debate, i mean it seemed like every gop member of congress or the senate was up there on the stages for some those debates. Is that a potential danger to the party, jonah . Or is it the more the merrier . I personally believe the more the merrier. I like these big 16man steel cage wrestling matches. I think it is good for the Republican Party. I think it is good for conservatism to have serious intermural debates. Doesnt have to be the scene in the dark knight where the joker break as pool cue in half and well have tryouts. Doesnt have to be to the death. I think what is going on here, jeb has really jumpstarted everything. He is in a mad rush to win the basically the donor primary and he is way out ahead. And people he threatens are people like christie, people like mitt romney and thats why mitt romney wanted to wait like polling, until his country and his party needed him. That is scenario they wanted and call him and sort of draft romney. He realizes with jeb in the race there will never be a draft romney movement. He had to sort of jump in much more prematurely than he wanted to, because jeb is scooping up big donor money incredibly fast. Jon let me read to you something that John Podhoretz writes in todays new york post. He says the prospect of a republican primary battle between jeb bush and mitt romney is good news though not for either of them. For jeb and mitt are basically the same candidate. The wise and sober grownup who is conservative enough the way hillary was likeable enough. He goes on to suggest juan, that the Republican Party wants somebody who is going to bring new excitement, sort of new energy into the race. What do you think . Well i think that is definitely what the base wants. I mean if you are talking to people who are activists conservatives at the base, they do not see mitt romney as a new or fresh face. To the contrary, when romney talks about buyers remorse and vindicated, people in the base say they lost 5147. What he thought the wall street journal describe ad very winnable race against president obama in 2012. Theyre looking for new energy and of course they are not, they dont have to think back very far, jon, to come back to 47 and selfdeportation and mistakes that were made by the romney team, that he seems to be intent on reconstituting at moment. When it comes to jeb again he has trouble over immigration, over common core. So the base i think is very separate from the donor class. But romney, dont play him short. Romney can raise money. He has demonstrated that. Jon a lot of what he said jonah, about the economy about International Relations has proven to be true in a second obama term and yet you say that you think its a bad idea for romney to run. Why . Oh, i feel like im taking crazy pills with the idea of mitt romney running again. I think it is a terrible idea. I think mitt romney, honorable and decent man. I wish he had won in 2012. I think his policies are basically right such as they are. And all the rest but at the end of the day, the 59 Million People who voted for mitt romney in 2012 were mostly voting against barack obama or for any republican who was at the top of the ticket. In fact that is the way the Romney Campaign ran in 2012 said the whole race was a referendum on obama. And was very reluctant to put forward any bold or interesting ideas. And so the idea that somehow jon but what about, what about paul ryan as a vicepresident ial candidate . That was kind of a bold idea. It was and for about eight days paul ryan got to be paul ryan until they put a leash on him and told him to stop talking like paul ryan and talk like a, jr. Consultant at makenzie. I think juan is absolutely right. People want fresh blood, fresh face. The problem this is shaping up to be a typical gop primary where establishment guys are just conservative enough to get a slice on of the base and all the guys on the base are fighting to the death and dividing the vote. What happens is, there is reason why vanilla is most Popular Ice Cream in america but nobodys favorite flavor. It is nobodys favorite flavor. All the establishment guys are running to be everybodys second flavor. Jon unusual for somebody to run a third bite at the apple or get a third bite at apple. What do you say are romneys chances . If you talk to romneys people, guess what . Theyre talking about Ronald Reagan who they say had three bites before he became president. They want to buy into the reagan legacy. They like that analogy you about the thing is here and what going to see some of this from mitt romney friday. He will be speaking at Republican National committee winter meeting in san diego. You will see from him i think talk about Ronald Reagan, talk about a new mitt romney, one who is going to present a different kind of campaign that all the people who had all their complaints about how he ran last time will in fact prove to be right. That acknowledges his failings and is going to look at, for example, how to deal with poverty, how to appeal to the working man. The problem is, think democrats and Hillary Clinton are going to be running a populist campaign and they will be delighted to have rich m. I. T. As their target rich mitt. Eventually i will get it right is not a winning message and basically that is what mitts message is. Jon you may hear from some of these candidates for more campaign advice. Jonah goldberg, juan williams. Thank you both. Jenna new information coming in from nasa after a scare more than 200 miles above earth. Astronauts forced to evacuate the american side of the International Space station early this morning when Ground Control detected a leak. Joining us live from our miami bureau with more on this. Phil, what do we know . Reporter well it was all indications of an ammonia leak on board the International Space station early this morning and that is one of the top priorities, emergency sys, lifethreatening once ones space agencies on the ground prepare for. Johnson space center minutes ago determining and announcing that all indications of five hours of investigating this since there was no amonia link. Most likely faulty sensors in combination with faulty computer reads up there on the International Space station 250 miles up above the earth. All gave the indications that there could be an an amonia leak but it does not appear to be there that. However in the meantime everybody is evacuated and remains evacuated outside of the u. S. On saturday four masked men enter ad palos verdes home and ransacked the home and tied up the couple. Jon a plot to kill the speaker of the house. A grand jury indictment accuse as Ohio Country Club bartender michael hoyt of trying to murder john boehner. The peerer, what is this all about . Report are report the weapon of choice was a wine glass. The Court Documents allege that the bartender was mad enough to plot the speak of the house because they believe boehner got him fired from the weathering ton country clip in ohio. He believed boehner was to blame for ebola. The alleged plan described by investigators would be surprisingly simple. Hoyt advised he often poured drinks for boehner but could put something in his drink but he did not. He stated no one checks drinks he poured for boehner and would have been very easy to slip something into this his drink. Authorities picked up on the plot when hoyt called 911 at end of october and had a brief conversation with an operator. Yeah, this is mike, i messed up. Tell my father im okay. Okay. Im sorry. Reporter hoyt then hung up sortly deer park ohio, officers were dispatched to his house. That is when this recentlyfired bartender said he is jesus christ. John boehner is the devil and he planned to shoot the speaker with a loaded baretta. 380 automatic. That threat earned hoyt to the trip of University Cincinnati hospital for a 72hour long psych hold and eventually to a special prison for mentally ill inmates where authorities want him to stay because he is so familiar with boehners habits and movements. Boehners office has a statement out today, said quote, Speaker Boehner is aware of the situation and sincerely thanks the fbi, the Capitol Police and local authorities in ohio for their efforts. The bosses a the country club meanwhile say it was a bad attitude, not boehner that got hoyt fired in the first place. Boehner told Capitol Police and fbi interviewers that he knows the bar ender but never remembers having a negative interaction with him. Jon . Jon how long will he be locked up do we know. Right now they can lock him up, i dont know the exact numbers of days off the top of my ahead. Basically they want him in there, with this threat and the fact he has been around boehner more than five years if he gets out, investigators and authorities are worried that he could track him down pretty easily. Jon peter doocey, thank you. Jenna one of al qaedas most dangerous affiliates calling the Charlie Hebdo gunmen heroes, taking credit for the massacre at a paris newspaper. Thousands breathing the pontiff with white and vatican flagses welcoming the pope at a shrine revered by catholics and sri lankans and other faiths. After decade of perceived discrimination of governments dominated by the sinalese majority. Jenna al qaeda in yemen claiming responsible for deadly attacks at the offices of Charlie Hebdo. In a new interview a Top Commander of al qaeda in the a lable reason pa mains la called them heroes, that aqap chose the target and laid out the plan and financed the operation. Meantime the kosher market terrorists claimed in a video released after he was killed that he acted on behalf of isis. According to numerous reports the link to all three gunmen, is this man al qaeda recruiter convicted of plotting to bomb the u. S. Embassy in paris. My next guest says the conflicting information on the attackers terror ties confirms a dangerous new trend of growing collaboration between the terror groups. We have a former cia analyst and senior fellow at the center of for Security Policy fred we heard over the last week or so these groups are in competition with headlines. You say not the case. This is about collaboration. Why . Jenna i think it is about collaboration. Last week we heard experts saying this was some kind after jihadist olympics one Al Qaeda Group competing against the other. We have this aqap group claiming sole responsibility. One of the shoers says he is with Islamic State or isis there seems to be something going on n november there was agreement between al qaeda and Islamic State to stop fighting each other and collaborate against common enemies. We know the kouachi brothers not only were they involved in yemen and al qaeda in arabian peninsula, we know they were in syria last summer. The wife of a third shooter fled to syria. I suggest we have a situation here when an individual who wants to commit an act of terrorism wants to come with one of these groups even if affiliated with the other group each group will help because theyre trying to unite against the west. Jenna if that is the big point, fred then how do we combat that . I think we have recognize this is much more complicated threat than one terrorist group trying to outbest another one. If they collaborate theyre able to use joint funding and arms and training and leadership to go after each other. So we have to have a much wider net to detect these guys when they go to one area where there may be terrorist training and getting funding and arms from another area. Jenna so we can collaborate as well. Can we collaborate as well as they do . I think we have some advantages in collaborating among our intelligence services. The fact that these groups are cooperate something a really Dangerous Development and it means well have to step up our surveillance of some of these organizations both in europe and in the United States and against targets in the middle east. Jenna unwith of the news items came down over the last hour that france will send an Aircraft Carrier to the middle east. And purpose is to work more with a Coalition Led by the United States to take out isis in iraq. What do you think of that move . Is it the right one. We have to congratulate the french to determination to stand up rad case lame. They werent afraid to confront radical islam in mali they did by themselves. They have them here after the Charlie Hebdo shootings well not be intimidated to leave the iraq syria fight and well send more forces to the region. Jenna we keep talking about enemy and how complicated it is and certainly it is, it is not a straightforward situation our country is facing. America was able to defeat nazi germany. Were able to defeat the japanese. Why cant we defeat a few terror groups collaborating together . What is difficult about this versus the other enemies that we faced and confronted and won against . Well these enemies are nonconventional combat ants. Theyre engaging in illegal warfare. Theyre working in the shadows. Theyre working in areas where we cant easily strike them. One thing to attack an army. Another thing to attack a terrorist group that may melt into a civilian population. Jenna isis is doing that. Isis is taking over areas of the they have uniforms. Theyre rolling through towns not hiding themselves. What is preventing us from taking them all out . Isis is the sort of the exception to this trend but to take out isis would have to send a large military force into iraq and syria. That is not going to happen. It may never happen even under another president. Which means isis will be around for quite a while. Jenna interesting. Fred, always great to see you. I encourage our viewers if they like to read more of your thoughts, you posted an editorial about this collaboration on foxnews. Com. Well point them to that. Great to see you. Thank you. Great to be here. Jon Oil Prices Fall again today, good news for you if youre filling up your tank but the Lower Oil Price cost have negative impact on economies around the world. They are trying to push back on president obamas plans for immigration. They have passed a bill that funds the department past the february 27th current deadline, but it strips away some of the power for the president s, the president s executive orders on immigration. This is pleasing to most conservatives, however our chad pergram who covers capitol hill suggests that this housepassed measure will be very difficult to pass in the senate. Whether that takes them back ultimately to square one, we dont know. It has passed the house. It takes away some of the president s, some funding for the president s actions on immigration and it funds the department of Homeland Security past february 27th. Well keep you updated on all the ins and outs. Jenna meantime Oil Prices Today hitting a sixyear low taking stocks down with them and one of the reasons for the dramatic price drop of oil in the past year is simply a glut of oil in the market. Major produces are pointing fingers at each other over this low price tumble and opec members like United Arab Emirates and saudis are suggesting that the u. S. Is the major reason for the market woes. The u. S. Is now largest producer of oil in the world. U. S. Oil production surpassed that of saudi arabia since late in 2012. A year before that, it surpassed russias output. This year the United States is forecast to produce 9. 3 Million Barrels a day. Here fox Business Correspondent Charlie Gasparino for more on this and phil flynn, Senior Oil Trader Price Futures Group and fox news contributor. Phil were talking about low gas prices and how bite it is for consumers and the question is at what cost and whether or not some of these Big Oil Producers like saudi arabia and u. A. E. Are purposely helping to drive prices lower to put u. S. Shale business out of business . What do you think about that . Is it intentional . I think it is absolutely intentional and whats even more amazing theyre not even trying to hide the fact. Theyre basically calling out the u. S. Energy producers hey listen we can with stand this. You guys better cut the production. Were not going to do anything. Were going to either bury you or well all go drown in our own oil together. I mean that is basically what it is coming down to. This is very serious right now because what they are doing, they are attacking one of the bright spots of the u. S. Economy. They are going after one of the things that really created the economic boom that we have in this country and that is the u. S. Energy boom. And you know i dont think we should stand by quietly and allow them to do it but in the short term jenna what can we do, phil . If i were president obama i would be on the phone with them right now, hey, listen this is unfair trade practice. Youre dumping cheap oil on your markets. Well offer our buyers of oil cheaper than any other place in the world. If any other place in the world there would be screaming outrage. Put a tariff on saudi oil. Take away benefits of trade with saudi arabia. I would send them a message saying they cant destroy one of our industries. Jenna let my add this, prince alwaleed said this in interview when he said there was Positive Sideeffect with oil going down. Well see how many Shale Oil Production Companies Run out of business. That is Positive Side of things. He think that is positive. Shale oil drilling and that sort of technology is not going away anytime soon. When the price of Oil Goes Back up if you put those companies out of business other companies will take their place. Saudi arabia and rest of oilproducing nations used to just by the throat, because of technology, they dont anymore. And that to me is a very good thing. Will there be a market disruption in the meantime . Course. Exxon and all these Big Oil Companies will take hits on their profits. Every time they made a lot of money in the past seeing liberal media go nuts, looking how much money oil produce are making. Theyre gouging consumers. Think of more positive, consumers are getting thanks to saudi arabia, these are middle class and average americans are getting a huge tax cut. They are seeing prices fall for gasoline, for home heating. You say that is okay. The way, the way the capitalist system is supposed to work when these stocks do bad other companies will do well and market will adjust. Jenna ty, let me ask you about that, because obviously the innovation from these shale producers is huge. Not only has it changed the business here in the United States it has the possibility of changing gee owe politics for the entire world. It does. Jenna if these businesses are so innovative to create these businesses can they be so innovative to make money at steake 40 a barrel . I think they can be and charlie makes some very good points of the problem i have with drop in gasoline prices the rate it is falling, it is doing damage to the economy, make no mistake about it. Last time Oil Prices Fell this hard and this fast, it was a forerunner to the great recession. Nobody believes that those low gasoline prices yeah . The gas prices falling is a response to Economic Conditions as well. I mean, lets be clear. It is. China isnt going anywhere. Their economy is growing but they have an economic slowdown. The world, so it is not just that were producing a lot. We have an economic slowdown, i. E. Less need for oil. That is what the market is supposed to do. Jenna final question. But the problem we have there jenna let me ask you this. The Keystone Pipeline debate thats ongoing, one of the issues or potential amendments to the legislation is that we would reverse something that we havent done in a long time that is the ability to export oil from our country because were not able to do that in certain tomorrow now. Charlie, you first, then phil. Would that change anything . Would that be helpful to our industries to be able to export . Would that also keep the price of oil down for consumers but help some of the little guys in the meantime . I dont know if i quite understand your question but i dont think it matters. One of the things that president obama keeps getting wrong, he mentions if we have the Keystone Pipeline we wont, its a global market. So we wouldnt be using it. That is the whole point. When you have a global market, right, when you produce more, prices will go down because its a global market. I will say this suppose a bunch, im sure it will happen, a bunch of shale Oil Companies go out of business. Jenna were seeing that beginning. Borrow at very high rates. That will happen. Are you telling me because oil is traded on futures market phil trades it, that the price of oil will, wont go back up it will go up somewhat but future traders will say we still have the technology. It is still in the ground. The price of oil i think marginally will not rise that much in the future. Jenna phil . I think it is technology. I agree with that and to answer your question jenna, if we approve the Keystone Pipeline, lift ban on export it will help the small producers. We have a bottleneck of crude in this country. This is revenue that could be coming back to these shale producers. By lifting that ban and it is starting to happen. Today i think shell got approval to export some of this shale oil today. I think that wall is going to come tumbling down and that is one of the positive things that the government can do to help the u. S. Energy industry and help shale producers. Jenna being a little greedy. I like both, low gas prices and new businesses to survive if theyre meant to be to charlies point. That is capitalism, some will, some wont and well have to see what happens. Great to have you both. Look forward to having you both back. Thank you so much. Jon low prices are hurting iran and russia which is not a bad thing. Jenna thats true. Well, you know. Side effect we sort of say, oh thats too bad. Ultimately killed one woman, sending dozens more to the hospital. This all happened Tuesday Morning during, im sorry during the afternoon commute. The National Transportation safety board is investigating what caused the smoke. Joining us now, Jonathan Rogers who was on that train and actually took that video. You were just seeing. Jonathan you werent even supposed to be on the train. You got on the wrong car by mistake. And what happened . Yeah i got on, i was supposed to get on the green line. And i wasnt paying attention. I got on the yellow line, which i realized once we got past lay enfant plaza. Conducted said next up pentagon. We left the station, 10 or 15 seconds. The train suddenly stopped and the conductor said there is a problem. Everybody stay calm. You could see smoke coming in into the tops of the doors. It was obviously pretty quickly something was wrong. Jon smoke was coming infrom outside of the car . Definitely from outside of the car. Jon what did it smell like . Obviously smoke. It really didnt have a particular smell for the majority of the time. When we actually evacuated the train, about 40 minutes later, it had the distinct smell of wood burning. I remember a few people commenting on that but while we were in the train it really didnt smell. Jon it didnt smell electrical or like rubber on fire or Something Like that . No. Jon you pulled out your phone. You shot some of that video weve been showing. How long before you started taking those pictures . How long were you in that situation . Well, the whole thing, i was actually checking the time stamp on some of those pictures this morning. It was closer to an hour before we got off before i got of at train. But we kind at first before nip was really struggling to breathe and before it became apparent that some people were in critical condition, you know, there was nothing to do but wait. The driver kept telling us to just be calm. Be patient. Dont open any of the doors because the train cant back up back to the platform if you open the doors. So you know, kind of a way for me to calm myself by, you know taking a few pictures and telling myself i will make it out of this so i can share these pictures with people. Jon there was a woman in your car who was having real problems. I guess she basically slid to the floor . Yeah. You know, she wasnt crying out for help like some people were, but she was in the worst condition and that got obvious rhett quickly. You know she kind of slid off her seat down on to all fours. We were trying to fan her. I had a big program book from the conference i came from. I was trying to fan fresh air to her. We were giving her water but she eventually was just so short of breath, she wasnt speaking full sentences. And she eventually laid down flat on her stomach, which we thought was kind of a good thing since a lot of people were doing that to stay as low as possible. Then she stopped talking. We couldnt wake her up. Of somebody took her pulse. Nobody could feel a pulse. It was pretty clear she was unconscious, not breathing. We didnt think her heart was beating. Eventually we started doing cpr. Jon we know one woman was killed in that accident presumably. It is the woman you helped try to save. Yeah. Jon from all of us, thank you for doing that. It must have have been a terrifying experience. Jonathan thanks. Youre welcome. Jenna secret testimony just released in the sentencing retrial of convicted killer jody arias as she awaits a decision on her fate. We have the latest in a live report next.
