0 and but we're proud to air it, so to read. >> thank you very much. thank you. >> thank you for having me, tucker. a lot of pressure, not to say that stuff, but so what? you can stream the death of comedy right now on fox station, have the best weekend at the ones you love. we will see you on monday. refreshed and ready, seether. well, welcome to this special edition of "hannity". i'm jason chaffetz. in for sean. and tonight, it's a bird. it's a plane. >> it's a fifty dollar amateur research balloon from an illinois hobby club. well, the biden administration still has no idea what to shut down last week over alaska and canada. and lake huron. and you know what? they might never know. watch this. >> an illinois hobby club feels like their balloon might have been a candidate for the balloon. i have to go support any response to that because it's very particular location, the last set of data that they got. >> yeah, we just can't confirm those reports or, uh, what, uh, what remains of that balloon might actually end up being. and then we haven't recovered it. so it's very difficult to you can get your hands on something to be able to tell. and because of where it is , overlake on . >> i mean, we all have to accept the possibility that we may not be able to recover, apparently shoot first and ask questions later. is the new modus operandi from the white house after getting humiliated by a chinese spy balloon two weeks ago? sadly, this kind of flat footed response, it isn't limited to the sky so far . there has been no real effort to curtail the chinese based ticktock as chinese hackers pose a growing threat to americans. >> meanwhile, in east palestine, ohio, the administrator is slow walking fema assistance and pothole. >> well, he's nowhere to be found. joining us now with reaction, host of the monica crowley podcast, monica crowley. along with fox news contributor tammy bruce. tammy, let me go to you first, because i got to tell you, this is not a good look for an administration. i know they they have a new chief of staff, but i'm telling you, the week could not have been worse for the biden administration. well, and partly that's because they were exposed. >> right. the chinese balloon itself. we now cbs is reporting that we saw it launch from china and we were watching it the entire way until it turned left when it went over guam and came to alaska. so i don't know what's worse is that we knew and we did nothing and allowed it to reverse or we didn't know. but the bottom line is , is that it seems clear that we did know and that they didn't expect us to find out if it wasn't for an intrepid billings gazette photographer who happened to look up and said, is that a bus or is it superman? right. i mean, what is above the in the sky? they took a picture. it gets in the billings is that and it blows up what the biden administration had planned, which is to say nothing. and in this, i think it's also not an expected because when we say shoot first and ask questions later, it immediately reminded me suddenly them being trigger happy with shooting things out of the sky without knowing what they were, reminded me horribly of a very deadly example of that in afghanistan. during the withdrawal when we killed 10 civilians, including seven children, and we were told it was to stop another attack on the airport and it was it was an aid worker who was working with us aid us aid agency and his family. so this what the biden administration has been doing from the beginning, ranging from that, as you've noted, the horrible response when it comes to the palestine train wreck. but it really is a chemical spill. the lack of reaction to that. this is from identity politics. frankly, it's a narrative that matters before governing. the american people don't matter at all. this is about manu, working people as chess pieces and people die as a result. and our national security clearly is at great risk. >> in the meantime, i mean, monica, they could not have come up with a more convoluted story. well, we can't shoot it over to the land than they do, should it? over land then? they say they don't know what the balloon is , but they do know the balloon is passed over alaska. it didn't pass over alaska. we may never, never recover it. they bring the senators in the house, members in for a classified briefing, and every one of them walked out of there and said, we have more questions now than ever before. yeah. you know, when and i think most people understand this. if anybody has ever lied, when you lie, you've got to keep your story straight and becomes increasingly difficult to keep a lie straight. because you forget who you've told and what stories that you've told this administration lies nonstop. so it's not a surprise that they are lying about critical national security issues, including involving us chinese aerial surveillance craft, which is what it is . we can call it a cute name spy balloon. but this was a keep l.a. aerial surveillance tool. they are gathering information . they are gathering intelligence all the time about the united states sensitive military and nuclear sites. how we react, they're constantly probing this administration to what end. and i think that's a really dangerous, terrifying question here is that the ccp appears ready to move, whether it's on taiwan, whether it's on america's interests, around the world, whether it's on our homeland, we don't know. but what we do know is that they are calculating that they have a limited window of opportunity while we have a thoroughly compromised american president who is definitely compromised by the ccp but is also weak and is turning america into a lame player on the global scene. and so their intent is for global domination. and we've got a president who is completely ill prepared and unwilling to act to defend the homeland and america's interests around the world. >> that's how dangerous this is . well, well, i mean, you're talking about the compromise. i mean, one of the obvious questions that was thrown out me to the president . >> listen to how he answers. well, listen to this clip. i don't want to get your reaction to it. thank you very much. >> your relaxium answer. the question is , has anyone ever been sure there's been criticism. there's been criticism that there's been criticism of this trade with china. compromised by your family's business? >> sir, mr. president , mr. president , there is going to be criticism. did you overreact? mr. president ? there has been criticism that this was an overreaction that was done because of political pressure used to turn myself. >> and that's a question. we have more polite people. i mean, there's the president getting the question, are you compromised? and he's. >> oh, come on , man. that's the answer. yeah. this is this is what happens when you've gotten away with so much because you've been governing from a basement and when you have no real care about the actual impact and normally the media protects them and they still tend to protect him. you know, even the news coverage of what is happening and what is happening in palestine is really quite muted. because it's you got people to judge. he makes his rounds and he's not really challenged when he calls it a train derailment. well, it was. but again, it's a chemical disaster and that's affecting people's lives. so this is , again, an element of what we've seen over and over and over again with joe biden. it's not an accident. they're not having a bad day. and when you've got reporters saying, are you compromised, what's going on here? they and and they conveniently and this is what americans don't like this shooting these things down over water. the lake huron balloon or object, we believe was the one they saw in montana the night before. and then they just wait until they can shoot down. and it took two shots. so there was a sidewinder missile that went astray because we missed an object, as far as we know, that was not shooting back there. so many questions that we have to ask here, and i trust that the republicans in the house are going to do so. a million dollars, half a million dollars for each missile, a jet. maybe it's the school project we shot down. but my goodness, isn't this a guy buying a corvette because he's trying to make up for something he doesn't have? >> yeah, and monica, the idea that the white house would not authorize a fema declaration asked for by the governor of one of the worst chemical and spills, we still don't know the full, full extent of it. fema is there is the federal emergency management agency. that is not a good look to turn down the request of a state. i mean, it's just a couple miles from pennsylvania. it's over there in eastern ohio. but that is a really bad look. and it's helpful to the people who have all kinds questions about their health. >> well, this is what you get when you get america last. we had america first under president trump and under president biden. we've got america lost. and that means americans lost. i mean, at the same time that we have this e.coli logical catastrophe in the heartland of america where our fellow americans are really suffering in terms of air quality, water quality. they can't live their lives. they can't take a shower. they can't drink from the tap. while we have this ecological disaster going on , this leadership is actually requesting more money for ukraine. so this tells you exactly how much this white house, this administration, the regime, how much they hate the american people who do not vote for them, who do not support their agenda, they show it in their actions constantly and to deny a state of ohio an emergency declaration of catus or fauci so that federal funds, which timmy and i and you don't mind paying for our fellow americans when they're facing this kind of disaster. but to deny the state of ohio, which is a red state and it backs up to biden's home state, scranton, pennsylvania, to deny them these funds and this kind of federal government support is absolutely outrageous. but it should surprise nobody at this. and in the meantime, we're paying for grief counselors, for federal workers, for the bureau of land management, who have emotional upset over the destruction of the ecology and of nature. so we're willing to pay for that, but we're not willing to pay to help the people of palestine or americans, whatever their political party who are struck by now by a manmade disaster here. >> yeah, you go to fauci where whereas if you go to fema. but where is al gore? where's al gore? where's gret? where is michael moore? all of these people that were constantly screaming about the environment, climate protecting people, especially michael moore in the heartland. where are these people? they're dead silent. listen. attuned to the political narrative. >> well, and this is the problem. the first 48 hours of this disaster are the most imperative. >> and we pay billions of dollars as the american people to be right there and have that expertise so they can support the states, the little communities like a like an east palestine, and they're not there. >> it is two weeks since it just happened. now, they're going to put in a few people and some some dollars. but it's coming way too late. monica and tammy, thank you so much for joining us tonight. we got to turn the page now. we're going to turn to the crisis at the southern border because after two years with no hearings, which in my opinion is malpractise not a single hearing on the southern border. house republicans will soon be headed south for a special hearing in arizona. unfortunately, jerry nadler and his democratic colleagues, they're boycotting the trip, saying the three week advance notice was not enough time to organize their travel. of course, border czar kamala harris, well, she isn't going to be there either. she's just too busy dealing with the fallout from the chinese spy balloon. >> have a look at this. let's be clear. >> first of all, as it relates to the chinese balloon, we shot it down because it needed to be shot down because we were confident that it was used by china to to spy on the american people. >> why not shoot the chinese balloon down before it crossed into the u.s. and then all across the country? we wanted to do it in a way that would ensure that there was no harm to the american people. >> well, of course, you shot it down over alaska and over the water by alaska. >> but look, fear not. the vice president went on to reassure americans that our relationship with china is just fine, even though the balloon incident wasn't helpful. >> have a look. president , of course, has reached out to china saying he expects to talk to president xi. they have said today that it was accidental, that we're overreacting, that there can't be this kind of dialog given our reaction or there shouldn't be this kind of dialog. >> we will maintain the perspective that we have in terms of what should be the relationship between china and the united states that is not going to change. but surely and certainly that balloon was not helpful, which is why we shot it down. of course, kamala harris. well, she wrapped up the interview with a classic word zealot about joe biden's tamez leadership to the bewilderment of andrea mitchell. >> have you look when you present the suggestion that anyone is saying that, that it is time for a new generation and they're running against the person who is president and when presented as though it's an attack, i would like to let let us all be clear that the attack is misplaced. if the point of it is that we need leadership that is strong because we have a strong leader in joe biden. >> thank you very much, madam. vice. >> thank you. all right. joining us now for reaction, fox news contributor leo terrell and deputy editor editor of red state, kyra davis. >> thank you both for joining us . leo, leo, i should say sorry. i got to tell you, it doesn't it's still a lot of confidence . >> any time kamala harris comes to the mic and starts explaining us policy, i'll tell you, she gave me a headache because honestly, she's captain obvious. she doesn't give any insight. she doesn't tell the american public anything of informed and informative nature. she has nothing to bring to the table and i think it's embarrassing that we avoid not this station, not this network, but we avoid the obvious. she was selected for the reason she was selected because of her gender and her skin. color, and that was the only reason she's not qualified. and she has a difficult time trying to articulate on issues that she doesn't have any knowledge on . and what's happening is you saw andrea mitchell. andrea mitchell has an obligation to challenge her, but they won't because they're sure she's shielded by her skin color and her her her gender , which when she said, for example, the balloon wasn't helpful. i mean, the blue have feelings. what do you do? what did she mean by that? she articulate something of a leech, of a lease of a college nature. it sounds so rudimentary as to what she's articulate. i don't even know what she means. we shot at the if you articulate that blue crab shot down before you reach continental america, but she insults the intelligence of the american people. and i'm sick and tired of her being basically shielded because of her gender . identity. that's why you don't pick people on gender identity. you pick people based on qualifications, care. what do you think of that? because, i mean, at one point the vice president said, let us be clear , we shot down the balloon because it needed to be shot down. well, that's not an explanation of why we shot it down, that just restating what happened. we shot it down because we needed to shoot it down. but but the question is why? right. oh, thank you so much, vice president harris. that is certainly a lot more clear. and let me be clear, every time you hear kamala harris say, let me be clear, it means she's going to be the exact opposite . but isn't the way she sounds, isn't that very symbolic? of this entire administration? it feels like the entire country is in chaos right now. it feels like everything is falling apart. i believe that part of this disaster of the spy, the part of the story is that our government is not coordinated. our government is not communicating with each other through different departments. i think there is a huge chasm between the white house and every other major department in this country. we have people making decisions and they're not consulting other departments. they're not consulting the white house. they're certainly not consulting kamala harris. i mean, the way she talks is really just symbolic of the utter state of confusion that the white house is in. right. and our american government is in right now. and , you know, and the sad thing is , is her boss is even worse. leo, look, kamala harris, among the many duties of the vice president , so demanding that job, is she supposed to be our border czar? she keeps telling us that climate change is driving people from all over the place. >> and and this is why millions of people are traveling north. of course, she doesn't spend any time with the border patrol, but it is just malpractise that the democrats didn't hold a single hearing about this crisis on the southern border for two years. and then jim jordan gives them a three week notice and says, all right, we're going to have a field hearing on the ground by the border. and the democrats boycotted what in the world are we supposed to think about how much the democrats care about illegal immigration, immigration and all the problems that surround they don't care. fentanyl. i mean, all of these things are tied together, and yet the democrats don't even participate in the in a congressional hearing where both sides can ask questions. >> well, well, let's be very clear . there's no need to mislead the viewers. they want open borders, jason . they want open border. you've said it. she has done absolutely nothing to secure the border. why? first question, law school, because they have no intention of securing the border. we had a president before them who secure the border. they want open border. they want the traffic, the drug trafficking, the trafficking to go back to go through our southern border. kamala has no idea. oh, she's focusing on is maintaining her position. and that number two slot, i had nightmares of the idea of her being in that number two slot. you know, we have an incompetent president . but just think of kamala harris and that number two slot for the next two years. that is the most frightening thing. and it's the entire white house administration is off base. again, gender and color is the reason why she's a vice president . look at our press secretary anasta embarrassment when she was talking about nooran. it's an embarrassment. i'm sick of the democrats playing equity politics and picking people on race and color. that has to stop. and it's quite embarrassing for those who are of those of with particular characteristics who are more qualified. >> well, and i think there is a case to be made that this is it is somewhat coordinated, particularly as it relates to the southern border. you have secretary mayorkas saying the border is secure, but it's obviously not the vice president who's doing absolutely nothing except traveling to central america. >> once and then holding some phone calls. but, you know, the president at the state of the union goes out and talks about the scourge of fentanyl, but where do they think that fentanyl is created and then transport it in broad across our borders? you talk to the border patrol. it's coming through our porous southern border and they're not doing anything about it. so jim jordan does the right thing. he's holding a hearing and no democrat's going to show up by choice. that's got to be a message to the american people right here. absolutely. i mean, i was infuriated to hear the president talk like he cares at all what's happened, what's happening at the border. i live in california. this is a border state and we are dealing with the crushing consequences of of an unregulated, unmatched drug trade that it's just flowing across our border. so it was infuriating to him to steal republican talking points, but then to sit here in this border state and know that there's absolutely we're we're helpless as the american people. we are helpless right now. and it feels it's just embarrassing. but it's it's also insulting. you know, we elect these leaders to protect us . we might not always agree on politics, but our national border should be an easy point of agreement. it should be one thing we can all agree on that if we don't have borders, we don't have a nation. but again, i do believe that this is just part i agree with leo. this is part of the democrats plan. i mean, they've always been open borders, but also when they can sew chaos in our states, in our city centers, they take advantage of that chaos. obama himself pointed out that strategy right in his now famous quote, you never let a good crisis go to waste and democrats can't win on their plans. because their plans and their plans don't work. so what do they do? they have to create crisis. so that americans feel fear and then americans vote based fear. and as you know, jason , no good decisions are made out of fear. but we are living in an america that is being led by fearful politicians and politicians who also politic in the currency of fear. well, look, it was a horrific, horrific week. for biden and harris and the way they treated those people in ohio and pennsylvania and did not respond. i tell you that it could be nothing worse than that. i feel for those people. god bless you. you're dealing with a horrific tragedy. and the federal government, biden and harris, are absolutely nowhere. leon and kyra, thank you so much. all right. coming up, the biden administration continues to betray the people of east palestine, ohio. >> what happened this time?
