>> well, i don't -- i think it's a double standard. i don't see the republicans-- forget about the republicans. >> well, the president, i think should stand up on this one. i cooperate agree more. i appreciate the point. with bill maher, i think that's reprehensible-- exactly! >> people say he's a comedian, i find him offensive. i am not supporting it in any way. but i am saying, there is a real conservation to be had about race in this campaign. if you have the first-- this isn't -- >> it's going to come up. look at the poll numbers. obama won 42% of the white vote in '08. right now, he's in the 30s. have you to ask questions. people say, 90% of black america supports obama, even though there is high unemployment. but look at who on the white side is supporting romney, no matter what, you have to ask yourself questions -- what role does race play in this campaign? >> with all due respect, juan, the reason that the race card is being played by the democrats and will continue to be played by the democrats is because of a poll that we just saw that in milwaukee, the city of milwaukee, a battleground state of wisconsin, obama is getting only 83% of black supporting him. that's a nightmare for obama in an important city battleground state. you can be sure that the black community, the brown community, latino, that those who came now the record numbers for barack obama in 2008, that vote is depressed and that's why the race card is being played and we should all stand united against it. it's unhealthy for our country and a betrayal of that state senator that talked about us not being red states and blue stateses and all of this unity talk. hope and change has become hopeless. >> let's have an honest discussion about race and that's what i am saying. i don't want people who criticize romney to be put down as anti-mormon or anti-white. let's have an honest discussion about jobs and the economy. >> as long as it's a two-way dialogue, not a monologue. >> sean: he does not live by the courage of the words he reads from his teleprompter. that's problematic. and the american people see all of these opportunities pass. i think he is showing great weakness and lack of leadership. we will let the american people decide. and juan, that was a great book. >> thank you, gentlemen. >> sean: president obam ain his own words, what he said in 2003. it's sure to cause problems on the campaign trail. the deficit. and campaign ad that one republican operative believes is, quote, devastating for democrats. what is it? is he irresponsible? >> i am going to be factual here because i have urged president obama to endorse simpson bowles. but let's be factual. he hasn't cut taxes in the middle of two wars, which is what my friend george bush d. he hasn't increased the spending beyond the stimulus-- i didn't ask you that. he called president bush irresponsible and unpaypatrioti- irresponsible and unpatriotic. after $300 billion. $5 trillion in 3 1/2 years. by his own definition, is he irresponsible? >> i don't think he's irresponsible. i don't -- i don't like the word unpatriotic. i think he has not done enough by embracing simpson bowles and i think the debt that is accumulated is inherited by the bush tax cutses a lot more than his spending? >> only 18% of people believe you can blame bush anymore. by definition, what is he saying about himself? >> it's an adolescent response to refuse responsibility for their own actions. but let me challenge the premise. we didn't have two wars and tax cuts that caused a bill deficit. during the two wars that were raging and the tax cuts fully in place in 2007, president bush had a $161 billion deficit about a 10th what have it will be this year. so we know that tax cuts, all things being equal don't cause a reduction in rev new and will cause an increase. our problem is spending. obama is addicted to spending. he knows nothing else. $5 trillion he has added and $6 trillion by the end of the year. the 10-year budget is a trillion-plus a year in extra spending. he is refusing to put his foot off the gas pedal and taking us over the cliff to financial bankruptcy. same thing with reforms. and he not only wouldn't adopt the bipartisan deficit commission's recommendations, he wouldn't even meet with him. like he doesn't meet with the jobs council, like he has no ceos in his cabinet. this is a -- go ahead? >> look, david, first of all, nice to see you again. neither has mitt romney endorsed the commission report. and i hope that barack obama came to the table and said, i will cut $5 for every dollar we raise with tax loopholes and senator twomey in pennsylvania was ready to do that -- and no republican -- >> let me ask you this-- you went right i. i don't want him to accept -- i'm sorry. go ahead. i don't want him to accept. go ahead, sean. >> sean: but you blame bush. for the first two years of his presidency, he got his stimulus. he got his health care bill passed. his budgets passed. these are his decisions. he said he would fix it and cut the deficit in half and eliminate earmarks and be transparent. four years, he called bush irresponsible over $300 billion in one year in debt. he gives us over a trillion every year. i want to know why you as a democrat that claim you are part of the purple nation, that you can't acknowledge that he did not live up to his promises and he has literally quadrupled the deficit every year because of his own spending practices. why can't you just admit it? >> first of all, i do admit and i believe that most democrats and bill clinton set the standard for being a progressive while being a deficit hawk. and he did have an opportunity -- with dick durb and i know conrad supporting the simpson bowles commission and he didn't. but barack obama did come to the table -- he said i will cut $5 for every $1 we raise, closing tax loopholes and no republican other than senator twomey who is bravely willing to do that -- [overlapping dialogue] >> can i respond to that? this isn't -- we don't want simpson bowles, it's a negative growth thing. it's too much taxes, too little cutting on spending -- >> there you go. >> we need the ryan plan or some semblance of t. we need to promote growth. that's an essential component. tax reform and quit this class warfare. and please come to the table on entitlement reform. otherwise, we believe you are doing this intentionally. obama and his democrats who haven't produced a budget for 1100-plus days are trying to take this nation over the financial cliff. otherwise, why wouldn't they participate and help solve these problems. >> sean: good to see you both. i appreciate it. coming up, details of an expletive-laced twitter tirade from another hollywood liberal. have you purchased gas for $59 a gallon?
