Cameras signing a lobbying ban and ordering the pentagon to develop a plan to defeat isis. All this is the white house deals with fallout over yesterdays order barring citizens from seven Different Countries from entering the u. S. That action bringing protest here at john f. Kennedy airport in new york city where at least 12 people were detained because of the ban. Airlines all around the world are now turning away passengers heading to the u. S. The president is defending the position. Listen. Its working out very nicely. You see it at the airports and you see it all over. Its working out very nicely and we will have a very extreme bedding which we should have had in this country for many years. Julie we have Fox Team Coverage for you and bryan llenas is live at new york citys jfk airport with the latest on the detainees. Garrett tenney has reaction in washington but we begin with Kristin Fisher less President Trumps phonecall with Vladimir Putin. Chris and what can you tell us about what was said between the two on that phonecall . Julie the white house said the call lasted about an hour in and the two leaders talked about a wide range of topics everything from working together to defeat isis to figuring out a way to achieve peace in syria. The official statement put out by the white house moments ago reads in part quote this positive call was a significant start to improving the relationship between United States and russia that is in need of repair. Both President Trump and present putin are hopeful that after todays call the two sides can move quickly to tackle terrorism and other important issues of mutual concern. We have learned a little bit more about this call from the kremlin. Says the two leaders have agreed to work at a time and place for their first facetoface meeting agreeing to keep in regular contact until that time. One topic not discussed or at least not publicly, sanctions the possibility that President Trump might ease sanctions on russia by his predecessor. That was expected to be a topic of conversation but neither the kremlin or the white house brought it up. One other thing worth mentioning the white house described this call as a congratulatory call, call from president putin to President Trump but the kremlin statement never mentioned that notably absent so just a little bit of diplomatic politics at play there perhaps. Julie did that call with president putin by the way, but during President Trump skull with other World Leaders because i know a lot of people have much to say about it. We know the president of france france while holland when he spoke with President Trump he urged them to keep the sanctions against russia in place and so did the british Prime Minister wish he was here visiting the white house yesterday. In addition to that phonecall with president putin the other call thats getting a lot of attention today the chancellor of germany angela merkel. That had to be a little awkward given how critical their presence has been over immigration policy that the white house is the two leaders agreed upon the importance of nato notable since President Trump has been critical of nato in the past and he looks forward to having her visit washington. Julie in between these phonecalls President Trump also cited three executive actions today. Tell us what they were. All three of them are really aimed at fulfilling to Central Campaign promises to drain the swamp and to defeat isis. The first would restructure the National Security council and another would include a fiveyear ban on lobbying for all of officials and a lifetime ban for lobbying on foreign governments in the third would give the pentagon 30 days to submit its plan. President trump has now signed 18 executive actions during his first eight days in office. That heavy workload is something he clearly wanted to highlight in its first weekly address. Watch. This administration has hit the ground running at a record pace. Everybody is talking about it. We are doing it with speed and we are doing it with intelligence and we will never, ever stop fighting on behalf of the american people. Tomorrow we are seeing something on President Trump schedule but we havent seen since President Trump took office. Its empty, no Public Events planned but theres one thing we have learned from President Trumps first full week in office, that could change at a moments notice. Julie anything can change. Thats why we are watching every day, to find out whats going to happen next. Kristin fisher thank you very much live from the white house tonight back to those protests at jfk airport in new york city. 12 people detained in all but within hours President Trump executive order banning refugees from entering the u. S. For four months, the temporary ban but one of them has been released. I dont know this is a policy come he is the president but i have a special relationship with my family. I work with the u. S. Government and i support the u. S. Government. When i came they said no julie representative jerry nadler standing at his side politicians getting involved in the protests. Bryan llenas has been following the developing story all day long fly from Jfk International airport in queens. Brian whats happening out there now. I see the clouds are still pretty thick. Hi julie. This protest started about noon today with about 10 people. Look behind me now we are outside terminal four at jfk. There are hundreds and hundreds of people who are here demanding the release of at least 11 people who are being held inside the terminal for here at jfk. These people are people who had visas and paperwork to come to the United States. They boarded their flights when they arrived here they were detained because of President Trumps executive order banning travel from muslim majority countries. One of those people that we know that is inside terminal four is a 33yearold iraqi man who received Refugee Status because his wife and his son here in houston had worked for a u. S. Security contractor in iraq helping the u. S. Military could another person who was released where you heard in the intradomain of 53yearold iraqi. He had help the u. S. Military for 10 years in iraq as an interpreter, an engineer as well as somebody who was a contractor and he again was held for hours last night when his flight landed as well. What we are hearing from people here in fact this is a socalled muslim ban. This is not just extreme betting. There is a lot of surprise and confusion here. As a matter of fact many activists and lawyers are inside terminal for right now looking for distraught families of those who could be arriving on flights from the seven band countries. Again there has been not a lot of indication between u. S. Customs and Border Patrol and their activist lawyers looking to aclu has filed a lawsuit here in District Court and complaining that this is unconstitutional. These are people who have visas and already the necessary paperwork. Listen to congressman Lydia Velasco said he spoke earlier today. Mr. President , look at us. This is america. What you have done is shameful. Its unamerican and it has created so much confusion. Take a look at this map. This shows you the seven bans countries. We have iraq syria iran sudan libya somalia and yemen. There is a temporary 90day ban for all those nationalities who are traveling into the United States. In addition the u. S. Will not accept refugees for four months no matter where you are from and theres a refugee ban from syria. Again protesters here say they are going to stay out here until those 11 detainees at least our release. Julie what is at the heart brian of the confusion over President Trumps executive order . Initially it was only supposed to be at least in peoples mind a refugee ban earlier this morning when work started coming out that people were being detained not only here but it does International Airport as well as dallas activists works fears came true and now the state department has confirmed that those that have nationalities or had visas from one of those seven bans countries are not allowed entry back into the United States for 90 days. You can imagine now activist groups and airports around the country here in the United States would also field calls from all over the world by people who may not be able to enter back into the United States with their proper paperwork because of the spam. A lot of questions and fears tonight. Julie bryan llenas at jfk and if more news comes out of there we will come back to you. Garrett tenney has more reaction to the extreme betting that is an order from washington. Gareth whether lawmakers saying . Republicans and democrats will likely hear more on this next week but initially at least republicans there was a lot of support from this particular directive yesterday House Speaker paul ryan said mr. Trump is right to make sure we do Everything Possible about almost security chairman said its an important day for america. Today we started hearing a different song from the number of republicans against the president presence actions. Of the last couple of hours cumbersome and Justin Thomas has posted a heavy of tweets criticized the white house writing part like president obamas executive action on immigration from the trump overreaching in undermining the constitutional system. Several tweets later he added the executive order appears to be more about politics than safety. It concerns radicalism and terrorism then what about saudi arabia pakistan anothers . Is growing criticism from democrats as well. Virginia senator tim kaine said he was appalled by the trump administrations actions. His Statement Reads in part if we turn our backs on the evil we despise we do not defeat our enemies, we surrender to them. Julie we are already saying International Fallout over this executive order as well. Tell us about it. Today i ran around to announce them response it will now also block u. S. Citizens from entering their country. In the same of Islamic Republic called the president s executive order a clear insult to the islamic world. Despite claims of being made to combat terrorism and protecting the people of the United States it will be recorded in history as a great bid to extremists and their supporters. They went on to say the approved decision of the u. S. Government to apply collector discrimination against citizens of muslim countries will only serve to provide a Fertile Ground for more terrorist recruitment. At least for the time being it appears although spring break vacations that americans have planted the Islamic Republic are off the table. Julie Garrett Tenney washington per President Trump hit the ground running in his first full week. Every day we are fulfilling the promise we have made to the american people. Julie part of this promise includes building a wall along our border with mexico. So what will that mean for relations between the two countries . Also a dangerous discovery in iraq why they believe it could be assigned isis is trying to up be assigned isis is trying to up the ante in its weaponry[phone ] some things are simply impossible to ignore. The strikingly designed lexus nx turbo and hybrid. The suv that dares to go beyond utility. This is the pursuit of perfection. A girl with golden locks broke into a house owned by three bears. She ate some porridge, broke the baby bears chair, and stole some jewelry, a flatscreen tv, and a laptop. Luckily the Geico Insurance agency had helped the bears with homeowners insurance. They were able to replace all their items. Including a new chair from crate and barrel. Call geico and see how easy it is to switch and save on homeowners insurance. Julie President Trump holding a phonecall with mexicos president one day after the meeting is canceled. The two were later speaking by phone yesterday morning for about an hour. This is the president Presses Forward on his intentions to build a wall along the u. S. Mexico border through trumps former Campaign Manager defending the president s plan and its call for extreme betting during an interview on fox and friends. Tonight its real simple if we cant control our borders in another country but. This is what Donald Trumps talk about for the last 18 months on the campaign trail. Dont forget its the highest privilege of the world to be able to come to our country and apply to be u. S. Citizen. The greatest honor we can bestow upon anyone. Its not that location in the United States to let people come here. Its a privilege. Julie will carr picks up the story. Well, how do the phonecall go exact a . Julie President Trump says it went well in oath have decided not to talk about the wall publicly anymore but you may remember last august he thought the two could find Common Ground when they were in mexico together. Now he adamantly opposes mexico financing the wall. Didnt stop the president from signing executive orders this week erecting federal workers to Start Building the wall and with that order both present decided to pass on the facetoface meeting next week. To that and the president of mexico and myself have agreed to cancel our planned meeting scheduled for next week. Unless mexico is going to treat the United States fairly with respect such a meeting would be fruitless and i want to go this route. We have no choice. President trump one onto copresent nieto i get minutes that he would julie is President Trump come up with a plan to make mexico pay yet . Earlier this week the administration floated the idea of imposing a 20 tax on all mexican imports. They later walk that back up at sean spicer saying they could go a different direction if they wanted to. Critics say the 20 tax could backfire and potentially create a trade war and they also say it could hurt companies in mexico and companies would simply pass along any increases to consumers. Mexico was never going to pay for the wall so we would have to come up with some solution. Thats not stopping construction from starting immediately thanks to about 100 million in the houma Security Budget slated to go toward border and the structure. Take a listen to paul ryan. They are facilitating the deployment of the fence. We voted for this in 2006 along with plenty of people like our minority leader in the senate. When its all said and done experts believe the wall could cost between 12 and 20 billion with a b dollars. Julie we will have to see how we fit that bill. Thank you very much will carr. A new roadblock in the effort to repeal and replace obamacare as elite audio recording reveals the division among g. O. P. Lawmakers. What was said on the secret tapes . We are trying to fix peoples problems in this country. Julie new signs isis may be trying to develop chemical weapons. Iraqi forces in mosul saying they have found the cache of a dangerous Chemical Warfare agent isis has often they use lowgrade chemicals for deadly attacks in iraq. Soldiers also found more than a dozen russian surface to surface missiles. None of the records represent.
