Plus, longtime clinton aide joins me life. But what does he make of Hillary Clintons latest comments about Cynthia Nixons run for new york governor. Lets start with two major news developments tonight. It was just 24 hours ago that democrats like nancy pelosi had claimed the president had gone soft on the north korean dictator. Kim jongun appears to be on bended knee and the summit may be back on. And some comments just a short time ago from the director of national detail. Weve got Team Coverage tonight with the latest development into the latest investigation of the fbi investigators. The summit is back on. Hours after President Trump threatened to walk away from this summit, the we are having very productive talks with north korea about reinstating the summit, which will likely remain in singapore on the same date and if necessary, be suspended beyond that date. Over the past many days, u. S. Officials had tried to connect with north korean officials. The only response they received was dial tone. Yesterday the president threatened to cancel the summit. However, the unilateral cancellation of the summit was an unexpected happening to us and we can help but feel regretful. The Trump Administration says it wants to finally relieve north korea of its nuclear capability. The White House Press secretary saying there that theyre just looking not to have a meeting but actually want something longstanding. Officials from the two countries have even less time to confirm logistics. And then theres the challenge of negotiating a unique le nuclear agreement. South korean president said yesterday that President Trumps threat to cancel the summit surprised him and left him very perplexed. Now north koreas neighbor is relieved. Ed. All right, rich with the late details. Appreciate it. President meanwhile doubling down on what he calls spygate. Christian fisher is tracking it. The core question is a spy the same thing as a confidential informant. President trump said it is the same thing in a tweet this morning. He said the democrats are alluding to the concept that having an informant in place is different than having a spy, as illegal as that may be. But what about an informant who is paid a fortune and who sets up way earlier than the russia hoax. But democrats and even republicans say a confidential informant is not a spy. As for the term spygate, the senator from South Carolina was asked about it. Should the president use the term spygate . I dont know. Probably not, but i dont know. I didnt go to the meeting. I dont think hes a spy. I dont know who this person was. Now, the meeting that senator graham was just referring to took place yesterday at the department of justice. A group was briefed. After the meeting, democrats said they heard nothing to suggest any wrongdoing by the fbi. They also complained about the presence of chief of staff john kelly. I think its trying to throw their weight around. And, yes, i do think its an effort to try and bully the department of justice. The white house says while the pair did make brief remarks before the meeting started, they did not actually attend the meeting. So with the fbi in the crosshairs, there have been reports that some fbi agents are hoping to be subpoenaed by congress because they want to testify about the agencys problems but are afraid to do so voluntarily. The senator put out a psa by telling them, i dont want anyone out there to be confused. If you are a federally employee and you want to disclose wrongdoing, you are legally allowed to do so. You should not have to fear retaliation. He also told them, anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. So some very sharp language from the Senate Judiciary chair. Our next guests know a thing or two about the socalled deep state. Cohost of the five juan williams. And former republican congressman. Gentlemen, thanks for joining us. I want to talk to you first, juan, about spygate. One of the things i heard this week is James Clapper had his own problems with the truth over the years. This wasnt spying. It was surveillance because they were kind of doing this out of the goodness of their own hearts. They were trying to protect donald trump. There were trying to help him. If were to believe that, juan, why didnt they do the same to Hillary Clinton . They werent infiltrating anybodys campaign, but what the key here is that once the russians were trying to interfere in an American Campaign and specifically looking to aid the Trump Campaign, which is the conclusion of the intelligence agency, they then began to sniff around and part of that looking around, surveillance, if you will, were to have this fellow whose name i wont repeat, this professor. Were not naming that informant. Was to have him start to ask questions of people in the campaign that he came in contact with. Thats very different than either a spy, as we just heard in that bit of tape from lindsey graham. Jason, the president weighed in on this. I want you to react. He had a tweet earlier today where he was talking about this issue. He said the democrats are now alluding to the concept that having an informant placed in an opposing campaign is different as having a spy, as illegal as that may be. So, to juans point, is what juan saying about a spy, an informant, is that a distinction without a difference . By its very definition, it is a spy. Even James Clapper is now admitting that it was a spy. When you become the nominee for the president of the United States, youre given certain privileg privileges. Youre Getting Secret Service protection. And if they were truly there to do a service to this country in the midst of a president ial election, they should have been forthright and told the Trump Campaign that this was potentially happening. But the fact that it was only to the Trump Campaign and not the Clinton Campaign they werent even cooperating with homeland security. So theres a lot of smoke here and a lot of people should be able to go in there and be able to see the document. Juan, a friendly reminder and you are a friend, back to my original question about why Hillary Clinton, why they werent looking at her campaign. Did the former president take Something Like 500,000 for a speaking engagement in russia. Im not saying it was necessarily illegal or corrupt, but russia was trying to influence the election. So then why werent they looking at the clintons as well. I really want to answer your question. You have a situation where the intelligence agencies learn the russians are trying to influence our election and specifically have contact within the Trump Campaign and that the trump folks are hearing that maybe the russians could help. Thats what the initial tip was. Remember, George Papadopoulos over the folks the australian and all the rest. And then you get this kind of hinting. So the american intelligence agencies want to look. What you just talked about, ed, former president clinton giving a speech. You can even talk about the clinton foundation. I dont know what youre referring to. That was not a concentrated effort by the russians to influence the election. You might say they were trying to buy favor with the clintons at some point. That sounds to me thats a whole different set of facts. They were lining her husbands pocket with 500,000. No, youre way off in the weeds on this one. In the weeds . Thats not the russians trying to it was russian money. Theyre trying to covertly influence an american election. They paid him that money upfront. Thats how you and i know it. Jason, you can weigh in. Juan, clearly, the russians were trying to do what they could to influence both campaigns. We saw the evidence. In new york city there was a president obama protest before and against donald trump. There is no way you can justify having this spying going on. And the democrats should join hands with the republicans in wanting to see the underlying intelligence and the documentation behind it. The democrats dont want to look at it. They dont want to see it. Wait a second. Jason, what we have is a situation where the russians wanted to help one campaign and were trying very hard. Thats why you had a meeting between a with don junior at trump tower. Thats pretty explicit. And as for these recent events, if there had been anything, anything in that meeting, we here at fox, we would be all over it and saying heres there was nothing. This whole spygate thing is a bunch of fog. All right. You both had your say, gentlemen. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Lets turn to the upcoming midterms. Is the president going to get his funding on the wall or will they end up just dealing with daca . He takes us through one california reform effort. Take a look. Probably shouldnt have scored reelection in 2016. Hillary clinton won 25 house districts now held by republicans. Denhams district was one of them. He eked out a threepoint victory. That makes his district one of the most competitive in the country. One of those roads winds through denhams district in central california. About 40 of denhams district is latino. If 218 lawmakers sign, they can go over the head of Republican Leaders and have daca bills on the floor. And so were having very constructive conversations with our members about how to find consensus on the bill. One of the bills denham supports would grant citizenship to nearly 2 million people. But theres polling that shows many of denhams constituents dont support a path to citizenship. They prefer a more conservative bill. House gop leaders are trying to shortcircuit denhams effort. House majority leader warned at a closeddoor meeting that it could cost the gop the majority. Its unclear who denham could even face this fall. Democra democrats california primary is june 5th. Denhams fate could hinge on the immigration discharge petition. It takes 218 signatures to force bills onto the floor, and 213 members have signed on so far. Ed. Chad, thanks for that report. Lets talk to congressman jeff denham. Hes kind enough to join us live, give us the inside scoop of where this immigration debate stands. Sometimes you hear something that just stops you in your tracks. Nancy pelosi saying your effort is to, make America White again. Sgli yeah, disappointing to hear. Weve got to get something done. There were many promises made last year to bring up a bill. There was certainly a deadline that the president imposed. And congress failed to act. We need Border Security and we need to fix this issue with dreamers, have a permanent fix. We are working to do both. Lets get our viewers inside the huddle, if you will. Basically, as chad explained, if you can get 218 people to sign onto this, what happens . So 218 will force a vote. Ive got 218. Ive always had 218. There has been a plan in place. But really this was set up as a rule initially to show how many republicans we could have in the house and how much support to really give the speaker empower the speaker to bring something up. We didnt do that, so we did the discharge. And now were having a very productive conversation with the Freedom Caucus and house leadership to hopefully come to a solution as soon as we get back. But we have this discharge petition that will bring up four different bills. The goodlatte bill he deserves a vote. The president deserves a vote. Thats why paul ryan has his own bill in this. The democrats have their clean dream act. And then we have the usa act. So we understand the process. One of the problems is some of your fellow republicans are saying that what may end up having is most votes will go to say the democratic dream act. Barack obama went around to everybody and unilaterally decided that the children of Illegal Immigrants that are here in the United States, union lat unilaterally he decided they could stay here. Youll wind up without Border Security but with making daca codified into law. Certainly, its disappointing to hear this type of rhetoric when the god goodlatte bill is an extension of what president obama did. I was against that executive order. I think congress has to do its job. But in a bipartisan bill, we are going to actually have a Border Security piece, cybersecurity, and deal with the chain migration through more judges so we have due process very quickly. The real debate is do republicans actually want to give a permanent fix for dreamers . If they do a 10 to 12year process, should they be able to get citizenship . So bottom line, will the wall be included . The president said if theres not funding for a real wall, something substantial, hes not going to sign it into law. Everything youre doing wont matter. He wont sign it into law. Will the final product have funding for the wall . Absolutely. The final product will not only have Border Security money in it for the wall, but it will have a bipartisan support. Thats the only way well get a fix on this. And ultimately this is not just for republicans or democrats. This is actually for americans to find an american solution. That means signing it into law. We want to work with the president to have a bill hell sign. Well see how it plays out. We appreciate you joining us. You got it, ed. Thank you. All right. Harvey weinstein surrenders. She recently endorsed andrew. Well get to that in a minute. Joining me now is former clinton advisor, mark penn. Im by no means suggests Hillary Clinton is responsible for weinstein. But shes benefited from the campaign contributions, palling around with him over the years. Is there a reckoning for some of the democratic luminaries who may have looked the other way for a long time . Weve learned conservatives can be loud and progressives can be loud. I dont think theres going to be a big reckoning in the democratic party. I think some people want to give back with contributions to groups that help women. And i think youll see that happen. I mentioned cynthia nixon, the access. Shes running here in new york for governor. I remember covering Hillary Clinton in 2016. Listen. Just remember, theres a special place in hell for women who dont help each other. [cheers applause] isnt this what people hate about politicpolitics. They say, women have to support women no matter what. Well, of course, Hillary Clinton didnt say that. And hes a distinguished public servant. He was in the clinton administration. She would know him a long time and have genuine respect for him as an office holder. So i think the fact that shes willing to make that endorsement, take some political heat is actually a good thing. It shows shes standing behind what she believes. I know didnt say it. But i was at those events when she was sitting there and laughing at the idea that women should be stepping up for other women. What happened to that concept . She took a lot of criticism. I think to be fair here, nixon is new to politics. She was making a real endorsement. If she was an accomplished politica
