need a president who will choose unity over division. carley: a lively townhall. on the other side of the aisle nancy pelosi is criticizing the state of the 2020 race. your what she had to say about elizabeth warren bowing out. >> i do think there is an element of misogyny that is there and some of it isn't mean-spirited, it just isn't there. they have their own insecurities. jillian: she added america is ready for a woman president. todd: her decision to leave the trail leaves voters up for grabs. carley: bernie sanders should not bank on their full support. >> warren backers, some would go for sanders, some of them wouldn't and that is shown in some of the polling where you see who their second choice might be but biden will too so i don't see her voters is a definite vote for the liberal lane as we were discussing it but for warren she has a lot of issues, wasn't that she is a woman. a lot of people are saying that. issue was explaining how her various plans work. she had a credibility issue, likability issue, that is why she didn't win. carley: they have similar far left platforms but she's holding out on an endorsement until she decides which candidate. carley: mike with the futures. >> reporter: let's look at those numbers from yesterday, the dow dropping 960 points, the s&p lower by 106, the nasdaq losing, losses of 3% across-the-board. futures not looking much better, we are seeing the selloff continue, dow futures down by 366, the nasdaq futures lower as well. despite futures being lower we are seeing the average up 2%, 3% for the week, pretty surprising. we had some days with some big gains. it has been a roller coaster week, very volatile. is investors flee stocks we see the rush for the safer assets continuing, sending the treasury yield and mortgage rates lower. investors continuing to monitor the coronavirus. those fears caused the selloff. todd: a majority of 401(k) investors are not touching this money, 20, 30, 40 years. carley: don't deserves it. in my lifetime, in the reagan era i have never seen a president or administration not only keep promises but fulfill promises in a way economically, domestically, foreign policy, most americans are somewhere, republicans or democrats are independents they want a better life for their family, safer country, donald trump has delivered. >> usmc a, trade deal signed into law, china people suggested he may have a tough time getting moderate voters to vote for him in november. what do you think of that? >> moderate voters work up like the rest of us who are conservatives, even liberals are going to vote for him and i will tell you why, their family is doing better, hx, america is safer. i had a person at the airport yesterday say donald trump is unique, he's not the typical politician, for years and years sugarcoated answers and gave political doubletalk, he talked to the american people and delivered, the american people will deliver -- todd: the tragedy in your state, the president going to tour the tornado damage in tennessee. describe the situation as you heard about it on the ground. >> this is a tragedy, natural disaster that has gone from an urban area in downtown nashville, big american city all the way into rural tennessee, sadly a tremendous amount of fatalities, 200 other injuries. we have a situation of economic devastation that the human cost is tremendous and i am glad the president is coming in and will show the people of tennessee as he has done before that he loves us, loves this nation and we will get tennessee back on track. we are the volunteer state. we love each other and we will get through this. carley: the country is rallying behind you. for any viewers that may want to help out where should they go to do that? >> there are a lot of agencies. my wife is on the board of the salvation army in chattanooga. pick an organization that is reliable, the federal government will step in. i have reassured people across the state, and said ranking member on homeland security appropriations, fema will help, the dollars will be there to help the people of tennessee. volunteer help is always needed. love your neighbor, care for them and we will make this through and for those who lost loved ones it is horrific, their lives will be forever changed but we will come together as tennesseans and get past this. carley: thank you so much, appreciate it. turning to some headlines. republicans criticize senate majority leader chuck schumer, minority leader after he tries to explain these comments about supreme court justices. >> i want to tell you, neil gorsuch, i want to tell you, brett kavanaugh you have released a whirlwind and you will pay the price. >> reporter: schumer making the remarks as they consider controversial abortion law in louisiana, donald trump and mitch mcconnell now speaking out. >> that was a real intimidation and the best you can say is they are trying to intimidate the way the judges vote so justices vote their way. if a republican did what schumer did they would be in jail right now. >> used words that generally are associated with inciting violence. chuck schumer out to know better than that. we have a problem. >> reporter: it doesn't senators pushing to senator schumer. democrats blame his strong language on being from brooklyn. he did not mean to threaten neil gorsuch or brett kavanaugh. todd: a contest to name a mars rover. why he chose the name perseverance. >> we are in species of explorers and there will be setbacks on the way to mars but we can persevere. not as a nation but as humans we will not give up. the human race will always persevere into the future. >> the virginia middle school or won the naming contest out of 28,000 students, the $2 billion with travel restrictions, quarantine and screening of travelers, that is why we have fewer cases. >> that travel ban was so smart. let's look at the coronavirus spending bill, $3 billion pumped into research and develop an for a vaccine, public health agencies with rapid response remedies and $1 billion for medical supplies. are you unhappy with the money allocated to fight this? >> i believe the virus. could become dormant in the summer? >> pandemics work in ways. i what i stated gone by the summer but at room temperature alone the virus only lasts 9 days but higher temperatures last less. i expect it to listen but you will see ways of it to ramp up in august. todd: is it safe to take a domestic flight if you are pregnant? >> flying during pregnancy bears its own risk but you have a lower immune system, more susceptible to infection. specific to covid-19 everyone should be sanitizing surfaces. when you are in an airplane you're more likely to get an infection before the process of getting an airplane, the airplane has filters that filters 99% of germs, your recommended to -- you don't want it on your face to irritate your nasal passages. i like the sanitizing wipes. i wiped the want to see dreamers leave the country. what will happen to dreamers if d aca is struck down? >> donald trump is in a great position, we have 800,000 dreamers, democrats looking for a fix, an opportunity to trade a little bit. there are bigger issues than d aca but if you want to talk about that, there can't be a clean fix because you have 200,000 crossing the border in the last few years and the next operation -- it can't be clean. he has to get something in trade. todd: as you know, it creates strange bedfellows. at the end of the day what do you think happens? >> the president asks congress about loopholes, but the ninth circuit case rules the remain in mexico program may have to end. i'm afraid the ninth circuit will look at that decision which will cause another surge. the mexico program has gone away. the democratic leadership, if we take care of this, here is what i need to secure the border, to stop rewarding illegal behavior. we have shown over and over we reward illegal behavior, hiding out long enough, hoping for the next d aca. carley: he could try to strike a deal with democrats but he tried that once before and democrats didn't take the deal. >> if the supreme court finds in his favor he holds the cards. dreamers have to leave the country. he holds the cards better than he held them before. todd: sanctuary cities, donald trump tweeting the following, recent federal court ruling, the federal government withholding funds from sanctuary cities, they should change their status and go non-sanctuary, do not protect criminals. are you okay with taking money from your fellow law enforcement officers in order to push forward this view, we don't want to sanctuary cities or is there another way to do it without hurting law enforcement budget? >> sanctuary cities resulted in many americans being victims of crime. you are giving money to an agency that refuses to do what it can to reduce crime. looking at recidivism rates, when you knowingly lease a public safety threat into another offense. i support the president's stands. and stop rewarding illegal behavior. these jurisdictions, block these people in the jail cell because of the safety threat. all we are asking for is access to the jail, someone who is in the country illegally, committed a crime against a us citizen and remove them. so he can't commit an offense against
