star student and athlete. he was a proud cancer survivor. actress noelle neil known for playing superman has passed away. >> good evening. >> where have you been, mr. kent? >> oh, i've been around. >> neil died sunday at her home in arizona on sunday. she was the first actress to portray lois lane and later appeared in other superman flil mgs as lois lane's mother. she was 95 years old. donald trump hitting the campaign trail today with tennessee senator bob corker. corker and trump last met back in may. and finally, a bald eagle briefly finds some freedom on independence day.

at his place in new jersey with senator joni ernst and with the indiana governor mike pence. on the other side, looks like hillary clinton is getting a free ride down to north carolina, charlotte, she's going with the president. >> yeah. she's asking the president to help her campaign. he said, yeah, i'll go with you. we haven't been seen together. i'm going to give you a ride on air force one. get this, it's very expensive to fly on air force one. it's $206,000. well, a limb more than that per hour to fly. >> that's what it costs to operate and the question is -- because the way it's supposed to work is if it's going to be a political thing, peter, you know the legality of this, if it's a politics trip, which it is solely, he's not going to go and make a speech about something, it's all about politics so the dnc has got to split the cost with the federal government. >> and donald trump tweeted out,
why is president obama going to use air force one on the campaign trail with crooked hillary? she's flying with him tomorrow. who pays? . you're absolutely right, steve. the white house has failed and excused the exact formula which there is reimbursement to the fellow taxpayers. are they paying coach? are they paying jetblue fares? now what we're seeing the presidential ambitions of hillary clinton are clearly tied to all kinds of planes, private jets on the ground with bill clinton and now flying with the president. no doubt about what's happening at all. i think it's probably eliminated. >> taxpayer dollars? >> taxpayer dollars allegedly to be reimbursed by the dnc. >> the white house did respond.
they said as in other administrations, we follow all rules to pay what is required. >> leave that up for a second. paid for what is required. they don't pay the full freight. in 2012 they based the reimbursement rate on a charge, a charter of a 747. and you don't pay for everybody on board, you pay for the campaign staffer, the staff or the doctors. while it's $200,000 an hour, there's a possibility that the dnc is going to pay a lower amount. >> they were bitter rivals.

sponsoring the camp and have since apologized but our next guest says that's not good enough. >> her name is michelle kettleboro. her 7-year-old son was at the camp. thank you for joining us. why were you so upset? how did you find out the girls were there? >> we found out when we went to pick up my son on the third day and there they were. they were in their visors and their jackets with the name of the restaurant on it and everything like that. and that was just kind of strange. they were super friendly, super nice. the kids had a great time with them, my son included. they were wonderful. the thing that concerned us was, hopefully you'll agree, but hooters and the boy scouts don't seem like a natural fit. >> what exactly was your concern? was it the way that they usually dress? because i see that they appear to be covered up there. or the fact that they -- or just
that it's a restaurant? what was the thought in your mind? >> the concern for us was that it's our belief that hooters is an adult themed restaurant, you know? the girls are geared towards adult men not 7-year-olds, you know? so these kids, they can read, they've seen the logo. they brought in race cars and drivers and the girls and all of these things and my son is seeing the restaurant. we go past it there in town. it's fine. >> right. >> so he's had a really positive experience with the brand now and we have to explain to him why we don't go there. >> okay. >> now we're having -- >> right. michelle, apparently the reason the girls were there was because -- to pay for the expenses of the camp. apparently a number of local businesses would donate money and apparently hooters decided to go ahead and donate a lot of
the money to make your son's camp possible but, you know, i think there are a lot of people who are looking in on this, people who have taken their families to hooters in the past. they say, you know, that's -- i don't see a problem with that. >> right. that's a choice that they get to make for their families. i respect that. certainly not the choice that we make for ours at this point. you know, i just -- usually if someone's going to have a sponsor or corporate participants in a camp they're proud about this, excited about it, it's on the itineraries, it's on any of the registration materials or, you know, the release forms. i understand that sponsorships help, community volunteers help put these camps on. we paid for it. it wasn't a free camp. but i think if boy scouts were really proud of this particular partnership, they would have told us instead of just letting
us find out after the fact. >> we reached out to the boy scouts. they said a group of volunteers wore the wrong attire. the issue was addressed by our council leadership. we look forward to continuing to serve the mission of the youth in the denver area. what's the problem? they look pretty covered up. i understand you don't want the word hooters next to your son. >> their clothes were appropriate. they weren't wearing what they wear in the restaurant. it was hot out. they were wearing shorts. it was my understanding that whatever the mistake was with their wardrobe, they were supposed to be in the same boy scout shirts as the other campers, volunteers, supervisors, others that were there. i think that would have been fine, absolutely fine. you know, if there was an issue and boy scouts addressed it

become today's security moms? here to explain this is dr. sebastian gorka, the chair of military theory. the author of that book there, it's called "defeating jihad." good morning. >> good morning. >> what is a security mom? >> it's a very interesting demographic in america today. it's those mothers who are seriously concerned about whether we're winning the war against the jihadists. now they're taking their own concerns and coming together as a group and expressing those concerns to say perhaps we need to rethink how we're doing this. are we winning? what needs to be done? specifically what would the next president do differently to secure them and their children. >> how will it affect the election? >> i think it's huge. very significant question. he's not too popular with women. they're looking for leadership and security. the question is can they be
bought over or won over by somebody like donald trump or just because hillary's a woman, does that mean they get her slow the? that's an interesting question. >> he might not be popular with women but he is pop pew ru women but he is pop pew rlar on security question. >> who do the security moms like? >> we'll find out in an hour. do they think it's working? if it's not, what should be done differently? how do they relate to the candidates. the commander in chief, number one priority is, what, keeping us safe. who are they going to choose? >> have you noticed when talking to other women, this is your life's work, you train other countries how to deal with terrorism. have you noticed moms, our mentality has changed? we used to go to soccer games or used to go to concerts, we didn't ever have to worry about this kind of thing. now we are thinking about this and security is the forefront of our minds. >> i think in the last year, year and a half it's significantly changed. what are the terrorists doing?

correctness or is this about making america a stronger, winning, fighting force? >> i think it's all about political correctness. i believe there are plenty of men and women that are ready to fight. it used to be to keep america safe but now it's to upheave the american military and be more inclusive. the job of the pentagon is not to create a warm and fuzzy, attractive environment as an employer. it is to keep america safe. what goes on in society, doesn't always translate wet into the military. the job of the military is to keep america safe and we're failing to do that when we're losing focus. >> and the final question, talk about this. you say we're dividing our military into factions. and that unity is really important. what do you mean by that? >> absolutely. conformity is key to the military. it's key to the unit's success and unity. as we become a unit that looks at the individual and not the team, we lose focus of the mission. and that becomes a distraction. as a result, we put men and women in harm's way. so if we're not unified together

to session on tuesday, july 5, 2016. the plan is to be as disruptive to house speaker paul ryan as possible next week. the memo says it wants congressional black caucus to deliver messages at noon and it urges lawmakers to hold up pictures of those killed by firearms. following the orlando nightclub last month, there was a sit-in on the house floor, demanding that paul ryan schedule a vote on gun control letiontion. he called votes as democrats continued their protest. ryan has said he will not tolerate further disruptions on the house floor. the house will consider a gun control measure as part of a broader counterterrorism bill. democrats call that proposal weak and want votes on stronger gun control measures. a recent quinnipiac poll shows more than half of registered voters want stricter gun control laws, though it lags far behind

of scare away as well. but hillary clinton has to make a decision, does she want to bring more of the leftward tilt of the party or the new democrat party? >> well, he would by the independents, and she needs the independents. for the most part, the lefties who love elizabeth warren will go for her anyway. let's talk about chris christie. this game is not rigged by the way. chris christie who is out in new jersey. he's my governor in new jersey. a friend of donald trump. what do you think about him? >> well, chris christie, you have to think about this here. donald trump and chris christie do some people wonder here if you want new york and new jersey coming at you on a republican ticket? i'm not too sure about that. even though neither one will apologize for whatever they say, i'm not too sure if that's a good combo. >> if he's not veep, i bet he would be attorney general. over the weekend at the golf resort in new jersey, joni ernst
met with donald trump. what would she bring to the table? >> definitely he would be able to say, hey, how can i be anti-woman if i had a woman on the ticket. amazing campaigner. definitely brings a lot of energy to the ticket. but the big question is experience. she can't bring that washington experience. >> a first-time u.s. senator. mike pence, met with mr. trump as well. he had good things to say about him and he had good things to say about trump. >> he's an amazing networker. one of the that i learned about mike pence when i came to washington to report, he sees your face, he never forgets it. he also remembers your name. he's an amazing insider in washington and an incredible executive over in indiana. >> okay. and toward the end of last week, elizabeth warren an hillary clinton teamed up. they had matching pantsuits. people said, boy, wouldn't that be a great ticket, but hillary

gore telling "the tennessean" newspaper said that opponents of integration and a personal animus for jackie robinson, would take out after the advocates that were most effective in asking people to change. and those are a look at your headlines. now we'll toss it out to maria who has the weather forecast. hi. >> hey, good morning. we're tracking extreme weather across the plains and we do have an enhanced risk of some issues by the storm prediction center for wisconsin, minnesota, even parts of iowa. so we could be seeing extreme weather out there. but i want to start off with the radar because we do anticipate more rain across portions of the northeast and extending into the mid-atlantic. there could be some storms that fire later on today. so that could be something to watch. the upper midwest can see severe weather and even into kansas and

dr. gorka, he was on with us an hour ago and talking about the difference -- we weren't necessarily worried about isis hitting us at home. but now they're in our back yards. what is a security mom? >> it's an interesting new dynamic or demographic, it's mothers who are starting to ask questions about how safe are we? they are the hub of the family. as a result, they look at the last 15 years are we safer today and they could be an important bloc coming up in november. do they feel safer if not what are they expecting from the next president. >> kathy, let's start be you. you were in the reserves for ten years. you have two children. what are your concerns? >> that the very thing that dr. gorka has already mentioned is safety. one of my top priorities. i think i fall in line with about 53% of all americans who feel the same way that the threat of terrorism has now become one of our major concerns. can i walk down the street and have the expectation of not being blown up, or going into the movie theater and not have the expectation of someone walking in with the rifle,
speaking in arabic language, ready to take my life for no other reason than jihad. >> all right. beth, you're shaking your head yes, that's one of your concerns as well too? >> it is. i have -- i have daughters that attend liberty university. and liberty university is the largest christian university in 2 world. that is it is my concern. i also have a son, he's my september 11, 2001 baby. i was in labor while september 11th was going on. and it's a big concern for me because since that date, september 11th, until today in 2016, the rise of terrorism it's -- there's so many incidents, i think it's up to 101. and i think we have an administration that isn't naming our enemy and when we can't name our enemy we can't win the war. against terror. we have to name our enemy. >> do you ladies can i ask, do
you think we're actually safer or not are we winning this war? >> no. >> what would you expect from the next president? what kind of changes? >> one of them is to identify -- already stated who the enemy is. it's difficult know who it is you're fighting if you name the name. if we have to rely on a terrorist to document who they are and what they're fighting for, that's a sad moment and then our leaders are trying to change that narrative that doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy as a parent. it makes me feel afraid. >> josey, you're a legal immigrant, you came here from canada. are you worried about the borders, keeping the borders safe? >> my main concern is as an immigrant when i came to this country, my goal was to become a proud american, tos assimilate. my concern is that we are having immigrants coming here that do not even decide to learn the language. and so how do we change that?
>> right. >> what will our elected officials do to make changes to make us feel safer? >> what do you want in the next president? >> we want our leaders to be truthful. calling evil good and calling good evil needs to stop. when we have leaders that say we must empathize with terrorists there is a problem. jihadist is evil, they're causing destruction and they're bent on killing, robbing and destroying. i want to see leaders who will strong arm that. not be afraid to fight the cause for truth and what is right and justice for all americans. >> claudine, what are your concerns? >> i'm a mom, my safety and concern and welfare of my children is the first and most important priority. i try not live in fear, no
federal, no school can keep our children safe 100% of the time, however, i'm watching the news, there's more concerns. i don't think it's a partisan issue. mothers from the beginning of time want to see their children are safe. >> courtney, did you want to ask a question? >> no, go ahead. >> i think a president who will put our nation first first and foremost. we have not only financial compensation but after the military, after they serve that support. you know, strengthening our borders is first and foremost. i think especially moms going through airports and traveling, i think we'd gladly give up those personal freedoms to feel safer. if it meant that they are profiling, i have no issue with that. because i want to feel safe. i want to know i can bring my children to disney world and not sit across the table from my husband at dinner thinking about what is our exit strategy,

>> even though it was raining, it cleared up dot at the capital, at the mall. >> the number one topic was people were talking about hillary, being grilled by the fbi for three hours. and just the optics of, you know, you see loretta lynch with bill clinton. we heard about that. then she gets interviewed by the fbi at headquarters before her tickets to "hamilton" and today she's taking a spin on air force one. it looks to me like the fix is in. like this is all scripted ahead of time. what do you think about that? >> yeah, i think for a long time i have been very doubtful about hillary being indicted. people always come up to me and including in vermont over the weekend. so do you think she'll be indicted? no, i don't think she'll be indicted? should she be -- it doesn't look good. but that meeting between bill clinton and loretta lynch was so off the charts unethical, inappropriate and a credibility
killer for this investigation. so it's easy for her to say, well, i would -- i would accept -- i expect to accept the decision of the prosecutor. you have to look at her language. everyone said she's recusing -- well, she's not recusing herself. she expects to accept. that's different than i am going to accept. some of the language left a little wriggle room there. i would be surprised. >> when you expect to accept somebody does that mean you expect to know what they expect to give you? >> right. i mean, the whole thing. well, the timing of his jumping on board the plane, then she is about to be interviewed by the fbi. she obviously she knew she was about to be interviewed an loretta lynch knew she was about to be interviewed and the timing was beyond -- you know, smelly to say the least. >> the thing about the airplane was apparently bill clinton was
there fixing to take off. the secret service said, okay, we have to take off, mr. president. because we don't want two motorcades on the tarmac out at sky harbor at the same time. he said, nope, i'm going to wait. he held that flight for half and hour, then bolted across the tarmac. can i come in? >> it was just to talk about, you know, the grandkids. >> of course. >> all that. >> baby lessons, all the rest of it. nothing to i. but also he's not abiding by that seat belt sign that we're all told to abide by. clearly not about that either. >> and what about hillary clinton going down to north carolina to campaign with the president together? >> it's the best weapon in this campaign is no coudoubt about i. she has no record of success to boast about. what she does have is an
alliance for whom the public has affection for and that's president obama. despite the lagging economy. despite isis attacks on the homeland and other islamic attacks on the homeland. they're still -- surprising to me a great deal of affection for president obama. so she's got to have that. without that, i don't know what she does have. and obama remains one of the most powerful campaigners in american life. i mean, republicans wish they had someone as good as obama on the stump, i wish we had someone as talented to dominate the stage. >> is there any doubt he will be the surrogate in chief? he will be the surrogate in chief. when things get tough, they will go back to the president. will they not? >> yeah, he's going to -- he'll be there as the rescuer of hillary. i mean, the polls are tightening somewhat. i think the last poll showed hillary was down -- up five points. even with trump kind of difficult last five or six weeks, i mean, it's really tight. and the president wants to keep his whole globalist thing going.
he wants to move this into the post american world and hillary is the best vehicle to do that. they're putting aside the past differences. he's trying to sell her to the american people and are they going to buy it? what is her record of success? other than trashing trump. >> i like how you put aside their past differences. they hate each other. obama can't like this if he was reading the deposition taken last week by judicial watch. huma abedin who is her number one aide, there she is whispering in her ears, they did a depo last week, are you aware of the obligation at the state department not to delete the federal records or destroy federal records and she said you know what some of the -- some of mrs. clinton's schedules we put
in the burn bag. which is extraordinary. who at the department of state puts things into the burn bag to burn up their calendars? as we have heard in the past it's about yoga and wedding plans and stuff like that. burn bag. >> well, one would think that hillary clinton's schedule is also kept electronically. i mean, i would be stunned if it weren't. so i didn't see the significance of burning it. but i don't think many people watching "fox & friends" this morning would be surprised to know that documents go missing in the hands of the chin -- clintons. we saw records at the rose law law firm, they disappeared from a table top in the west wing. not many are surprised to hear this, but the question is how far do their admissions go and what happened in the interview with hillary clinton by the fbi on friday? i mean, abedin, she's -- she
swears to tell the whole truth and she raises her right hand. she has to tell the truth, so otherwise she tells perjury. it seems like she told the truth. just another piece of evidence that i think adds up to, you know, a lack of transparency despite their promises of the most transparent administration. the other question is what are you hiding? what meetings our -- or donors -- what conversations -- to the clinton foundation. if i had to guess that's where this would have gone. or other things, like the e-mails that are missing. you don't destroy something unless you're worried about someone else reading it. that's clearly the case here. >> i wonder where they go when they burn this stuff? out to the white house lawn? >> exactly. a ceremonial burning. that's a federal burn location where -- i'm sure the secretaries would find a lot of information. >> wouldn't surprise us.

cases they do get credit. anyway, we were fascinated by this story about a group of interns at one business. we don't know the business. we don't -- we don't the industry. but the interns did not like the fact that this particular company had a strict dress code. so all the interns got together and they said, well, we're not going to do take it. let's have a petition. they all signed it and the boss looked at it and said, thank you very much, you're all fired. >> i love it. hats off to them for taking the risk. they really believed in this cause, but i love the fact that the boss is like, you're an intern. you're not going to walk into our door and tell us how you're going to dress. >> you're right. kind of a little rascals kind of boneheaded move. >> right. >> not a good thing to do. did they write backwards on a little note. >> write code. >> why did we hire the interns in anyway, common sense is --

win in that category. but let's go ahead and switch gears and talk about the weather conditions because we do not have cute conditions across the country. we are dealing with multiple storm systems and one of them bringing in a lot of humidity across portions of the eastern u.s. a lot of heavy rain out there as well. we're dealing with the on and off showers across the northeast and they also extend farther south and west across tennessee and into kentucky. that's going to be something to watch out for. but later on this afternoon and evening, a new storm system will be moving across the northern plains and the upper midwest. there's an enhanced outlook across minnesota, iowa and wisconsin. you could be looking at an enhanced risk for the severe storms with damaging winds, large hail and the risk continues into tomorrow. high temperatures it will be a scorcher across the plains and the southeast. triple digit heat forecast with a lot of humidity. let's head back inside. >> thank you. meanwhile, we did do a story this morning about a mother
joined us today from denver. she was looking at some of her son's camp pictures. he a 7-year-old boy scout, and one of the pictures -- this is one of the pictures of some the people who worked at the camp. they were young women from the local hooters facility. the mother was outraged -- the mother was outraged they would be wearing clothes -- not their typical hooters costume. >> right. they covered up there. >> instead it said hooters on it. she didn't like any part of it, even though hooters gave money to make the camp possible. >> let's listen to her. we talked to her earlier on the show. >> hooters and the boy scouts don't seem like a natural fit. hooters is an adult-themed restaurant, you know? . the girls are geared toward adult men, not 7-year-olds.
so the kids, they can read. seeing the logo. you know, they brought in race cars and drivers and the girls and all of these things. and my son seeing the restaurant. you know, we go past it it's in town, it's fine. so he's had a positive experience with the brand now and we have to explain to him why we don't go there. >> so the boy scouts put out a statement. >> it said a group of trained volunteers mistakenly wore the wrong attire. >> because it had the logo on it. >> that's right. the issue was addressed by the council leadership. we apologize and we look forward to serve youth in the denver area. >> so we asked you would you be offended if you were a parent and we got a lot of e-mail. sandy e-mailed this. the mother was overreacting. the girls were appropriately dressed for camping. if she cams her son to the beach, does she attempt to censor the swimwear?
