for influencing the clintons. if you're a foreign investigation, you can't give to the clinton campaigns, you can't give to the superpac, but you can give to the foundation. hillary clinton herself set up ethical standards saying bribery includes not just money give ton political figures but given to their charities. so just because money flows to the clinton foundation, it is still a bribe if it's done for the purpose of influence, and i think the pattern is pretty clear that this money is being thrown at the clintons because they want favors in return, and they are getting favors in return. >> wow. peter, out of all your research, out of everything you found, what is the most astonishing thing? >> that's a difficult one to answer. i would say it was probably the russian iranian deal who you have this canadian financier who
starts buying uranium in the united states. then in 2009, this small uranium company, you have five shareholders in a small uranium company in canada that gives $145 million to the clinton foundation. why did they give it? well, at the time they're giving it, they want to sell their uranium deposits in the united states to who? to the russian government, to vladimir putin. the federal government, including hillary clinton's state department, signs off on it. so the russians now have 20% of our uranium deposits, the clinton foundation has $145 million more than they didn't have before. these canadians made a lot of money, and everybody wins except the american people who have lost this critical asset which is now owned by vladimir putin. >> the film premier at the cannes film festival will hit your theeteaters shortly. peter schweitzer, thank you for joining us from canada.

we ever a fox news alert for you on this monday morning. a bombshell announcement overnight. the president of the united states has lifted an arms ban that has been in place in the country of vietnam for nearly five decades. people questioning now if it's a move to counter china's aggressive behavior. fox news correspondent kevin cork is traveling with the president and joins us from
hanoi. kevin? >> reporter: good evening from hanoi, vietnam. you're right, the president said lifting the arms ban in vietnam is a reflection between our two nations and he did dismiss this notion that this was somehow a reflection of growing concerns about an increasingly aggressive china and, in particular, the south china sea. >> the decision to lift the ban was not based on china or any other considerations, it was based on our desire to complete what has been a lengthy process of moving towards normalization would be enough. >> a process decades long. a pivot toward asia, an effort to improve strategic and diplomatic relations, the move in vietnam is seen as a normal step in relations.
the tpp to which vietnam is a signatory as an example of the increased cooperation, but critics wonder, given the hot and cold relationship between hanoi and beijing, what might happen in this circumstance if they get cozier with china down the line? and this comes just before president obama's trip to the g7 where he will reflect on the devastation in hiroshima. no apology for the actions of world war ii will be uttered, but the pictures will certainly be a powerful reflection of the cost of war, and we'll have our coverage from japan. for now we're still in hanoi. we'll head to hochi min city next. now let's hand it over to heather who has headlines for us. hi, heather. >> good morning to all of you. we start out with politics right

the show and it really stood out. how is this cycle standing out that's really disturbing you? >> i don't mind people talking about political or philosophical differences. there are differences between republicans and democrats. but when we start going to race and ethnicity, i think that's really bad for america. and you just heard hillary clinton. she is explicitly making an appeal on a racial basis. bernie sanders isn't doing it on race. he's a marxist. he's doing it on class. and donald trump, i think, unfortunately, when he starts talking about mexicans as rapists and criminals, et cetera, he is appealing to the kind of white identity movement that is really not a part of what this country is all about. and i think it's bad and it's bad across the board. >> and now you say this is bad, this is a challenge. but, for example, if you want that sector, if you want the hispanic sector, you have to carve that out. if you want the white voter, you have to do that. how do you expect to get these different sections of america without specifically going to things they care about?
>> well, i think you do it on the basis of issues. for example, hispanics traditionally, over the last almost 50 years, have been voting in large numbers for republican conservative candidates. going back to the nixon administration, you had a third of mexican americans voting for richard m. nixon. you had almost half voting for ronald reagan, my old boss. and they weren't being appealed to on the basis of the color of their skin, they were being appealed to on the basis of political philosophy. we need to get back to that. we need to get back to not talking about race and ethnicity. this country was built on the idea that we are from all over the world, we're an immigrant nation, but out of that many came one people. and that's what we've got to get back to. forget about throwing race and ethnicity into this election. it's bad for america. it's not the route we want to go down. >> if you look at what's happening right now, do you feel as though there's more at stake now so people are pulling out the kitchen sink?
or do you think we view politics differently? >> i think we view politics differently. and i think it's become a kind of us against them. i don't like to see that. i can disagree with my democratic friends, my liberal friends, but they're not the enemy. i don't think they're unamerican. i don't think they're unpatriotic. i may think they're wrong, but i don't want to make them somehow the enemy. and i think that we see it on both sides, and you're certainly seeing it on the democratic side. and the democrats have been doing this longer than the republicans. i think they've been playing the race card for a very long time, but i don't like to see people on the conservative side going there, too. i don't like to see demonizing immigrants, i don't like to see the fact that, you know, trump likes to lump everybody together. you know, when he talked in his opening about mexicans, he wasn't talking about illegal immigrants, he said mexicans are rapists or criminals. >> he would say because they are
the ones on our border, and he says that border has to be reinforced. his argument was, i'm not politically correct, i'm just worried about america's safety. but we'll see if there is some tactic behind that. >> and if he's worried about america's safety, look at the facts, and the facts are mexican-born men are less likely to commit violent crimes than american-born men. they have crime rates for violent crimes about the same rates as whites do. and that's, frankly, interesting because it's not true of those born here. >> he's more concerned about people sneaking into the country that don't belong here, not the ones that are here. coming up -- thanks, we're out of time, but great column, you have to read it. linda chavez, thank you very much. parents teaching their infants how to survive in the water. coming up, we've got the tips you need to know to keep your
