pete: lucas, thank you very much. appreciate it. no surprise on the communist chinese and the origins of this. remember when all the people pointed to the lab and the lies early on were called conspiracy thirsts now we know the wet market thing walls a cover for what happened in the lab. whether it escaped accidentally or not we don't know. the fact it was released earlier is being released chinese have never been open or honest about this at all. yesterday as it relates to covid-19 and recovery, joe biden gave a speech. he also gave a speech the day before. 9 speech the day before was about the stimulus checks yesterday was about the vac seep yesterday is when he told us he was going to manage the hell out of covid-19. will came by me in the hospital this morning and said he is going to host of the hell out of this show and i knew he was serious. as a result i'm looking for his commentary this morning and i know it's coming. this is a part of what joe biden talked about with his stimulus plan and what you -- he hopes to see congress do. $1,400 stimulus checks on top of the 600 already passed rounds it out to 2,000. federal minimum wage across the nation. not just for federal workers but every business $15 an hour. 400 billion for fighting covid-19. and then you have got 350 billion for blue states effectively a blue state bailout. moneys going to states cities and others whose balance sheets are out of whack. of the editorial board had this response to whether a he wants to do. this blow out has nothing to do with economic stimulus. nearly all of the money is for income restriction. so, meet the people in genuine need but most to advance long-term democrat social policies and to massage constituencies like teacher's unions and state politicians. so, money to the people, will, but maybe not as targeted as it should be or there is an agenda behind it. will: first, money to the people, that's not new that was negotiated just a few weeks ago when the trump administration passed the first or rather the second covid-19 relief bill. in fact, congressman dan crenshaw pointed that out, this guy has no idea that all of this was just passed into law. stop plagiarizing the last relief bill and tell democrat governors to open the economy. but as you point out, pete, this goes far beyond simply what was passed a few weeks ago by president trump. this goes into what i would call an unemployment trap. a two sided crush on the idea of employment productivity work. think about the disincentives on both sides of this equation, jedediah. on one hand you have a $15 minimum wage further crushing small businesses across this country. you put that on top of the lockdowns and how do you operate a small business that can remain in the black. on the other side, you increase unemployment benefits, disinseptember advising people to go back to work. the point is you have a two sided crush on the idea of productivity employment and work. crushing those who would like to hire, disincentivizing those who would like to work and you have a problem in this country that essentially tells everybody sit at home. no problem. no need for productivity and work. jedediah: yeah. you know, and when you look at it, the bullet points sound really good, right? you read through it really quickly oh you wow he is going to do stuff to help people. sit and analyze this stuff. talking point minimum wage sounds problematic we know the implications of that policy. sound really good oh everybody is going to walk away and more money. everybody want people doing work to get paid justly for that, would. the problem is that businesses have just gone through something they have never gone through before with these lockdowns. they are really in crisis mode in many cases and they are going to have to meet their bottom line somehow. so that's either going to involve firing people if you raise that minimum wage. they are going to have to raise prices. they are going to have to do something or another thing that we don't talk about enough is the transition to technology in many parts where they are just going to say well, we can either hire someone at this price, which is problematic for us or we can have a machine do the work and have people just pull up, for example, in a drive-thru and enter their information on a computer what they want to order. things like that. government bureaucrats always forget that the government is different. they have the advantage of collecting a ton of tax money from people and they also don't have to meet a bottom line. they can go into the red and they do plenty. businesses cannot afford that reality. so i think it's important when you look at this breakdown from the biden camp that you don't get starry eyed like we are in z wizard of oz it everything sounds great. businesses and poor people around the country. steve hilton host of the next revolution talked about biden's new covid relief proposal afternoon he certainly has strong prosecute on it. take a listen. >> the insanity of trying to impose these kind of policies across a vast continent like america it's not just illiterate have one pay policy for the whole country. actually anti-american opposite for everything the founders intended for decentralizing power. that's the first thing. that also applies to many other aspects of this package that biden has put forward which includes a whole host of unrelated expansions of the federal government that are going to be permanent. have nothing to do with the virus. it's just sneaking in all the things they have been wanting to do for a long time. jedediah: yeah, another important point, obviously which we saw with obamacare is once you expand certain areas of the federal government, it's very hard to walk them back. you often never walk them back. so i think when you have -- you are going to have a big government president now. you are going to have a congress that is geared toward big government policies. republicans better at least step up and have these important conversations about what it would mean to roll back some of these programs and if in any way that would be possible. i'm not just speaking about this. i'm speaking about any big government policy that gets brought to the table and gets pushed assertively by a democratic congress and president. pete: blue state bailout is the pay back to blue state governors. i dropped my pen, i dropped a mountain dew yesterday. i get very excited about this. getting a bailout from washington, d.c. i like your analogy of the two sided crush. i haven't had a two sided crush since high school when i ha crush on both mindy and amy and i didn't know what to do about it. will: i imagine you struck out with both. pete: , naturally. you are exactly right. and both sides you are crushing businesses and the big myth here is all the speeches joe biden want to give if you don't let people open up, you will create a dependency culture that you can't get out from underneath. will: absolutely. with so much information fired at us on a daily basis, some news stories coming at us through our televisions and news feeds. hard to know where to stand right thing to think. how to process everything. i would submit that a pretty good hack on where to stand on most issues in life is to find out where charles barkley is. he is usually right. and in fact if the popular consensus is over here and charles barkley is on the other side of the issue, nine times out of 10 side with barkley over the popular consensus. last night on nba's tnt inside the nba show charles found himful?
