And then she replies to this letter as you say and she says listen i really want to go visit my grandma. For one that was only in 2010 when i lived there. It didnt look like that. It has exploded since then. What struck me is not only how vast skid row itself is block upon block upon block but also everywhere you go in los angeles you see those tents and those people. And the problem goes far beyond just homeless down and out on their luck and a tent and a sign, these people are zombies. The drug addiction, the Mental Health problems and the fact that they are literally being run by gangs, you dont need to be an expert to see it. Todd its not so much about oh it doesnt look like nice or smell nice, this is a problem of humanity. These people need help. And it all starts as we have said multiple times with Mental Health. This is an amazing, amazing story. First, keith, i want to you a little bit about your dads service, where he was stationed. Just tell us about your dad. Well, he grew up in kentucky. Went to he enlisted in a town called calhoun, kentucky which is my hometown, now. And ships off to camp sutton, i think it was in South Carolina. And went into the service and became part of the 225th division and was a tech 5 as he went you know, i dont know how he went through the ranks and what all took place. But he was just raised on the farm as a young man. Family of Four Brothers and two sisters. And they are all dee dee ceased now, obviously. He was just a great young man. He played a lot of basketball in high school and in the service, too. They had traveling teams. Jedediah oh wow. Different divisions and groups across italy and north africa. And i found a lot of pictures of that where they played ball and had a great time. I guess that would be their best relax and get away from the war and Everything Else in those dark days of world war ii. Jedediah how did you come to get this dog tag . This is 75 years later. Thats amazing. I was called some time ago by a gentleman from my heritage, and i had several calls. I kept ignoring them. Just being paranoid. Jedediah right. And finally my wife, cindy, she came out the door with the phone and said you really need to talk to this guy. He is pretty persistent. And so after that you know, yeah, we had a conversation. I said come on, now, this cant be true. After all this time to find one small little dog tag in italy. Jedediah amazing. First, you know, i thought well, its a scam. You know. And then he kept sending me this information and then i finally sent him some pictures of discharge papers, matched all the numbers up. And i remember the first thing he said in his email was bingo, found you. Jedediah wow. He sent some other information and some history about the war at that time. Jedediah yeah. Because my dad didnt talk a whole lot about the war. Like so many. He was so quiet. Jedediah i have to get to yvette. So amazing you found him. Romanian gentleman who was in italy as a hobby he would go out with a metal detector. He went out and he found dog tags. Like some men who do this right as a hobby. Sometimes they sell it. You can find these things on ebay. He decided well, actually, i want to find this family and return it. The name, your dads name is marianne. The remaining man thought it was a female soldier. Good morning you are all champion athletes to me so you know. Appeals court has sided with the Trump Administration and allow the president s new policy to go forward. The policy is designed to limit asylum requests from immigrants in honduras, el salvador and mexico. The san fran court yesterday afternoon blocked the nationwide injunction from a California District Court judge that had blocked the administration from implementing its new policy. That court order reads in part, quote the District Court clearly errorred by nationwide relief is necessary to remedy plaintiffs harm. Based on the record before us we do not believe a nationwide injunction is justified. It can only be blocked in western u. S. States including california. For months the white house has been tussling with federal judges who ordered the president s policies to go forward by imposing these nationwide injunctions. Yesterdays order it looks like at least one Appeals Court is now backing up the president. The next step, the ninth circuit will hear orel arguments october 1 by immigrant Rights Groups opposes the asylum policies. Back to you. Todd thanks, jillian. All right. We are obviously monitoring that situation because that could have huge implications throughout the nation if a rule that the ninth circuit, one of the most liberal circuits says is not a nationwide rule is only for the geographic where the ninth circuit is that could have huge implications where the Trump Administration trying to write a brief. The ninth circuit. Even the ninth circuit says this is not a nationwide application that could be huge. Griff thats not the only news on the west coast. What we were referencing earlier is portland is embracing for more antifa protests which would bring the violence we have seen before, right . Remember all that mayor out there trying to discourage this stuff. As we saw andy noe the conservative journalist who got beaten up. He has been on this channel a lot. Here is a quote from a former member, gabriel of antifa in an oped to fox news basically summing up what its become. Antifa has become far more violent and bold since i was involved nearly a decade ago. I have followed the growth in numbers extremism. I strongly believe its the recklessness of those who have the power and recklessness of the soapbox. As a society we need to take antifa seriously. That means its fulltime for our leaders and honest about exposing a real danger to Public Safety and american principles. What were likely to have later today is this patriots march, a conservative group coming. As well as antifa. We could have clashes throughout later on this afternoon. What beliefs they hold on the inside. Its very scary right now. You want to defend peoples right to protest. This is a corner stone of this republic we live. That is profoundly unamerican to violate peoples rights to protest by infusing these movements with violence and with a lot of fear. You know, people should be able to go. They should be able to express themselves, differing opinions. What you are seeing on camera right now, which was from the last protest in portland in june, that is andy ngo, who got assaulted, you remember we covered this at the time and you saw images of him and his face had been badly hurt. He had gone to the hospital. This is despicable behavior on behalf of any movement. Griff the mayor was criticized in what you are watching now, one thing is missing, that is a police presence. Almost as if portland allowed it to happen. We will see in todays protest, whatever unfolds whether or not the mayor and the city leaders say hey, listen, we dont want another andy ngo situation. Todd its important to remember the culprits have not yet been prosecuted in that situation. One final note on, this you think that kind of violence would be called out by every single one of the 2020 democrats. Read a report that said not everybody has called out that violence from antifa. Jedediah another big story we have been talking about is the case of jeffrey enstoon. His epstein saying his lawyers are not satisfied with that he committed suicide. Still question why there is no Surveillance Footage of his final hours. Thats something many of us have brought up. Here is a statement from dr. Barbara sampson. It says after careful review of all investigative information, including complete autopsy findings, the determination of the death of Jeffrey Epstein is below. Cause hanging, manner suicide. If we look at a statement to epsteins lawyers from fox news the defense team plans to conduct its own independent investigation into the circumstance and cause of epsteins death including if necessary legal action videos if they exist as they should of the area proximate to mr. Epsteins cell time period leading to his death. We are not satisfied with the conclusions of the medical examiner. We will have a more complete response in the coming days. I think the questions his legal representation have raised and a lot of the questions raised by people who have observed the case which is you notice the way its worded there if these videos exist. These videos absolutely should exist. If they dont exist, many questions why they dont exist. Thats really one of the chief ways of you who you get to the bottom of what actually happened. Griff epsteins attorneys they called it medieval conditions at the metropolitan correctional center. That is certainly raising a lot of questions, too. This is a Holding Facility that traditionally has held chapo, epstein, holds high profile people that have going to be transferred to other facilities like the super max in colorado and elsewhere. Not only were so many mistakes and irregularities as the attorney said the conditions now that the defense team saying that is way below standards. Todd you are not the only ones saying that andy gomes nypd sergeant calling sergeant allowing highest profile inmate be capable of committing suicide negligent. This was on hannity. Take a listen. The mindset of this individual before he, perhaps, committed suicide, apparently committed suicide has absolutely nothing to do with the negligence, the recklessness of you who mcc behaved in this matter. In fact, they are acting as psychologists which has nothing to do with the case at hand, which is how is the most highly visible inmate in the United States capable of committing suicide when they went against every protocol that they hemselves had in place to prevent this. Todd lets also keep in mind, some of those that were involved. So prison employees are heard to be not cooperating with the investigation. So, all of this information that comes out little by little by little is chipping away at the publics confidence in ultimately getting the truth as to exactly what happened. And catch on to things and i i just didnt want it to happen. They were standing up in front of people and they were rude and they didnt belong there i dont like bullies and they were trying to bully their way to be recognized and it was President Trumps night. Thank you, yeah. In april of 2016, my son, nicholas, was adopte adducted to his peruvian mother to peru. Sorry. He was abducted to peru by his peruvian mother. And from there we started a long battle to bring him home. The state department has been helping us as much as they can. But as far as we can go we need our countrys help now. So, we have asked for the Police Department to help, the state department. Were asking for our senators to help. And just try to bring nicholas home. Griff eric, let me ask you, what cooperation are you getting from lawmakers or the state department and also when is the last time you were able to speak to nico . So the last time i will answer the second one first. The last time i was able to speak with nicholas, there are Court Ordered call times in peru about the court order is not adhered to and communication is very sparse with talking with nicholas. We have reached out to senator bergas senator corbin and senator cruz and we would also like to reach out to President Trump. We are asking our representatives to use the tools provided by the goldman act, if you are aware of the goldman act and it allows the state department to use certain tools, to help bring our American Children home. But we are not using those tools that was provided to us. Jedediah we should note that we did reach out to nico johnsons mother. She could not be reached for comment. We also reached out to the state department for comment. They have not returned our requests. My concern here, eric, is will it be used to justify this kidnapping the fact that now your son is there in peru. Will they say now he considers peru a home so it would be unjust to actually send him back . Is that something you are worried about . So, what the latest ruling in court and down in peru was even against the law they will rule in her favor for nicholas to stay in peru acknowledging that nicholas mother had broken the law but saying it was okay for him to stay in peru due to the amount of time frame it took for peruvian courts. The time frame it took in peruvian courts because of their noncompliance with the hague treaty. The hague treaty states six weeks. We have been following in the news this whole issue of President Trump suggesting that there was a potential setup after congresswoman tlaib rejects israels invite as he praises the country for acting appropriately. Obviously President Trump praising netanyahu. The story here is that originally Rasheda Tlaib and ilhan omar were denied entrance to israel. There was a congressional delegation of democrats and republicans that went to israel very recently. They chose not to be part of that delegation. Instead, to go by themselves. They wanted to go by themselves. They are members of the bdf movement. Have made openly critical statement of israel that have been fairly controversial. So, israel denied their entrance, then Rasheda Tlaib made a plea and said listen, my grandmother is there and i need to get to her. She is 90 years old. Israel came back and said you are permitted on humanitarian grounds strictly to go. Rasheda tlaib came back and said oh never mind. It was a setup. President trump weighing in saying representative tlaib wrote a letter to israeli officials definitely wanting to visit her grandmother. Permission was granted where tlaib turned it down. A complete set up. The only real winner here is tlaibs grandmother. She doesnt have to see her now. Why did they do this . Was it in an effort to get israel to decline the offer to make a political talking point . My feeling is if you really wanted to see your grandmother, you would have taken israel up on that offer and also important to note that the group that was sponsoring this trip by Rasheda Tlaib and ilhan omar was a group. Its called mifta it has a long history of making antisemitic comments if you are afilliating yourself with antisemitic group that would not really bode well for your welcome into israel. They are wondering what is your motivation for coming here. Griff Rasheda Tlaib and ilhan omar raised. Israel is justified under a law to deny their entry. The interior minister from israel did tweet this saying i have approved her request on a gesture of goodwill on humanitarian basis as you mentioned, jed, it was just a provocative request aimed at bashing the state of israel. Apparently her hate for israel overcomes her love for her grandmother. Here we have a case where she was denied. She requested this visa. Granted it quickly and then rejected it. It looks like all accounts on the fails of it to be politically motivated. Politically driven and does he have little to calm down the issue. She and omar have been accused of inflaming these passions. And the president striking out in that tweet saying lets call this for what it is. Im wondering if president obama feels his legacy is being upheld well on this stage and doesnt want to put that burden on joe biden to have to defend it in this field that is far left, that has ticked very far left and interestingly enough we talked to Jason Nichols democratic strategist last hour and he talked about those legacies. What happened was we actually saw riot police the press was chasing them down these busy streets. Just a few minutes ago in their heavy artillery what happened were these protesters showed up at a Police Station for anybody thats ever been to hong kong know its a densely populated location in the city very popular with tourists. Protesters showed up at the Police Station. The Police Station bolted up told them to disperse. They didnt go anywhere. They just stayed put. The riot police were called. In and then the chase ensued down the streets. Unfortunately for those citizens that live in hong kong, this is a scene that theyre familiar with. You know, i think i really recognize that Weight Watchers is in the weight loss business and they are trying to use something that kids can relate to to help them because, lets face it, Childhood Obesity is a problem. At the end of the day, it really starts with families and it starts with what types of behaviors our parents you know, modeling for their children. What types of foods are in their homes. I mean, if you think about it an 8yearold isnt going Grocery Shopping for their family. Jedediah right. I want to point to they use kind of like a traffic light system to help generate excitement around it. And take a look at this. Green foods are foods that can be eaten any time like vegetables they label yellow watch your portions like protein and pasta, odd that protein and pasta are griewpsd there and red are foods that should be limited like candy and soda but some of the groupings that they i look at this the site. I care deeply about nutrition its one you have my passions. I disagreed with a lot of their perspective on nutrition. Right. Jedediah my concern is when you are dealing with an 8yearold. Very young child. Their needs may be different from that of an adult. They are growing. They are going to have to ask a parent in order to engage that component of the program. I would rather see people going to dietitians if there is an issue with a childs weight or health and lets face it, weight is not the only way to measure health. Lets start with that and recognize a kid as young as 8 are not going through pursuant yet. Things are going to be changing as their body changes. Their muscle structure. Everything about what makes us who we are as adults is formed in childhood too mowed kiran is really the emotional component and Mental Health component of that and what its going to do. A lot of people with eating disorders talk about how they start at a young age as young as 12, you know, even younger. I have had a client for many years who, you know, had a eating disorder that started when she was 6 or 7 years old. Some people predisposed to it, Something Like that is going to be a trigger for that but, you know, look, at the end of the day, its not just about food. Its food, its physical activity. Do communities have safe places for kids to play. Can they get out and do that . And think about physical education. P. E. Has gone away from school. I mean, its called physical education. But Artificial Intelligence allows it to unlock the power of that gold mine. It helps you extract value and it helps them make sense of that data. Kara, according to the wall street journal what your voice reveals about you, the wall street journal writes, quote Law Enforcement agencies are turning to those clues from the human voice to help sketch the faces of suspects. Banks are using them to catch scammers and doctors are using such data to defect the onset of dementia or detention. Created new possibilities for Healthcare Finance and criminal justice while also raising fresh privacy concerns. Your reaction . Yeah. Of course. Well, you have to look at what ai does best. And that is the crux of this article they are saying yeah, we have always had these big data lakes. These data repositories. Companies adding to them on a daily basis like wells fargo when do you voice athen occasion so you have these data links. But we have the new technology that enables you to exploit that data to extract value from that data. Ai helps detect anomalies and identify patterns. If you look at the real world, what does that mean . It means can you match voice data to other biometric data points like, again, your fingerprint, your face from facial recognition technology. So, i mean thats good. Thats bad. But, there are other ways too where it can help detect potential health defects. Like if you use words that you used to use when you were younger, and now you are reverting back to those words, scientists and doctors can say maybe we are looking at the onset of early dementia here. Its detecting patterns in those voices that is key and new. Todd that seems like a positive use. Im worried about the potential negative implication. So the next time i call and i hair that my call could be used for quote, unquote, quality purposes. What do i do . Do i hang up the phone . Do i wait to find out until i get somebody on the phone to find out what is a quality purpose . What do i do . It depends on really how paranoid you are. You need to have a cognition of whats going on. You need to be vigilant. You basically just need to know that the implications are you might be consenting to the voice recording. You need to recognize that you are also consenting to the back end analytics that occur once you give up your voice. So if you are okay with that stay on the line. If you are not, retreat. Kara, should you concern confess many of us have called in. We have been told that they are going to record and it then we get frustrated whether Customer Service we are trying to achieve and we get angry that could certainly be a marker, a data point that could be used possibly against us . Exactly. Exactly. And if you look at places like china, not saying the United States is china, we have a democratic system that acts as a bulwark of abuses of these technologies. If you extrapolate out and see how this can be abused, in china as of 2017, they have voice biometric databases where they take the voice at a data point and match it up with other biometric indicators like iris scans, whether or not, you know, you are healthy contributing member of society and they use it to paint a picture, a full profile, digital profile of you. He says antifa has become far more violent, since i was involved nearly a decade ago, ive followed the growth in numbers, incidents, and it is the record of those who have the power and influence of a soap box, as a society we need to take antifa seriously and that means its time for our leaders to be honest and diligent about exposing a real danger to Public Safety, in american principles, what gabrielle is talking about too is antifa got their start in whats known as the battle for seattle the first time they came together and used these tactics, dressing in black, leading police, breaking windows that was when he was involved what has become now has become much more dangerous and violent and based on what hes saying unfortunately, possibly, expect ing people like angie noe to have another episode of being attacked. Griff indeed another story were looking at is the white house, President Trump getting an unlikely victory from the ninth Circuit Court of appeals out in san francisco, siding with the administration on asylum rules and limiting the number of people who can cross the border and claim asylum, and reacting, commissioner mark morgan, and here is what he had to say. The American People need to understand its just how complicated these Legal Proceedings are, so sometimes we get to enjoy nationally and then in this case, we were initially and then we have a partial victory where we can institute this partially. Texas and new mexico where we can institute this now, this will be a game changer. It will allow us to absolutely institute an initiative now, what we truly believe will help stem the flow of illegal immigration. We still need congress to get together to pass meaningful legislation to address the loopholes in our system. Griff well its a huge game changer certainly in texas and new mexico because youre talking about in a few months ago we were in these unprecedented numbers from the families from the Northern Triangles so its all about controlling numbers so thats why these facilities are over run in this limits the number of people that can come across and claim asylum and so anything and thats what i think commissioner morgan was saying. Anything that helps get the numbers under control is certainly as he put it a game changer. Todd youre looking at it through the immigration lens and thats proper in this context. Im looking at it through the straight up legal lens. This is a very interesting decision because weve seen so often during the trump adminitration circuits especially the ninth circuit taking their decision and applying it to the entire country. Yes this is on immigration, but dont be surprised if you see lawyers licking their chops right now because they know they can use this precedent Going Forward to say even in the over liberal ninth circuit they were very limited in their application. It doesnt apply to the whole country. Lets see this come up in different areas besides immigration in the next year and a half or so. Todd what we do know like you said its not just this harmless flavored smoke. Its not like the only thing in there is a Little Cherry flavor ing. There is hard metals in there. Theres a lot of stuff that quite frankly if you were told that you were putting into your body youd probably stop, right . Absolutely true. Todd lost in a wildly wildly busy news week is the following theres a standup going on planned parenthood its going to leave the Program Within days unless the court puts a hold on trump adminitration rules that bar clinics from referring patients for abortions. Rachel i once met a democrat who was on the board of planned parent hood and that person told me that he advised the board long ago they should separate their Family Planning part from their abortion services, and planned parenthood said no. They purposely, for ideological and i think for profit reasons off of our tax dollars, i think its a little more for them in that way because theres the amendment prohibiting our dollars from going to abortion so this is a way they sort of muddy the waters and by the way, if this goes through, they will no longer be able to access 60 million of taxpayer money, which sounds like a lot of money its like one fundraiser in hollywood, so if the left really cares about this, let them fund it but dont make taxpayers have to pay for planned parenthood , for services that are supposed to be for Family Planning, and then have them refer women to their own Abortion Clinic which, you know, is the number one provider. I think when we look at planned parenthood, they would say they are about abortion and this case in point says if you care about Womens Health take the money and provide Womens Health forget the abortion or, you know, abide by the rules but they say if i cant do abortion im not going to do Womens Health which means they are about apportion, not about Womens Health.
