Look at some of the numbers, the highest concussion rate among High School Sports starting with football followed by girls soccer and after that boys soccer. What makes girls soccer much more impactful when it comes to concussions than boys . We have to look at the participants rather than the sport. At one point it was tommy john surgery, pediatric acls in basketball, now concussions in football and now concussions in girls soccer. This is just going to keep bleeding into all sports where its not necessarily what is going on with girls but what is going on with participants, they are not prepared to handle anything in sports let alone what we are seeing and their bodies are giving up. Jillian what do you mean they are not prepared to handle it . The first 9 years of their life they are supposed to be exploring outside and playing freely for 46 hours a day, supposed to be an organized sports participation. Now they are stuck behind phones and sitting behind screens all day. The only outlet for activity is organized sports so they dont have the development of processes, balance, coordination to handle sitting in a chair in school, they are falling out of chairs because they dont have core stability. We have devolved in so many ways with our youth in this country that we are going to see these things pop up in different sports. We are seeing concussions in soccer. Jillian when i was in school we didnt play one sport yearround, now a lot of kids are. That is a huge deck and part of the problem, 17 billion a year youth sports, selling a lie to parents that only want the best for their kids, selling the lie that bringing the words delete and use next to each other is ideal and the more you can push this the professionalization of youth sports is a pipe dream of scholarships and professional career and it is the exact opposite of how we should be developing kids. Some causes of concussions in girls soccer, 25 include hitting the ball, 50 collisions and symptoms reported by use, report concussions more than the guys do in soccer including headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, noise, confusion and feel sluggish.
