"fox and friends first" continues right now. ♪ jillian: good morning to you. the sun coming up in new york city, you are watching "fox and friends first" on wednesday morning. rob: a fox news alert, utah, omaha, juneau and gauls and two american beaches, utah and omaha names that have gone down in history, the landing on omaha beach 7 the highest casualties on the day and it is believed the first and 29th division 72000 casualties on the shores of normandy. in portsmouth in the coming hours, the uk, france, germany, canada, australia, 10 other allied nations and donald trump will meet some of the survivors of d-day, there are 200 of them. if you are 18 on the day of d-day you would be 93 today. there will be celebrities and stars, the real heroes are those veterans who faced down the nazis and looked fear in the eye and set up to wrestle europe back. the younger generations can remember the sacrifices made in the past by their ancestors and take that forward into the future. rob: you wonder how different europe would look today. we appreciate it. jillian: mexican leaders meeting with mike pence today in a last-ditch attempt to avoid tariffs. it follows the mexican delegation's president doubled down yesterday, his own party led by majority leader began warning of the dangers going down this path. >> there is not much support in my conference for tariffs, that is for sure. >> i will yield to nobody in passion and seriousness and commitment for securing the border but there is no reason for texas farmers and ranchers and manufacturers and small businesses to pay the price of massive new taxes. >> reporter: this opposition is rooted in concerns for tariffs will heighten consumer prices and imperil the deal and threaten the economy but not all gop senators are his climate change plan but so far it is getting mixed reviews. rob: how much will it cost taxpayers? we have the green new deal which is the big bold one. this is the moderate one if you care about climate change but don't want to wreck the economy this might be the want to get behind. >> the democrats find themselves in particular joe biden because they need to appeal to the progressive wing that is making all the noise and energy but they have to bring back the rustbelt voters. that is biden's task. what we saw here was his effort to appease the demand for bold statement, use the word bold several times but keep this within limits voters and taxpayers could accept, talking $5 trillion but only $1.7 trillion come from the federal government, the rest from local governments and corporations. it is a sketchy program. not much in the way of details were laid out and sort of hilariously copied from a number of other programs that have been published so there are charges of plagiarism. unfortunate for a fellow who had this problem in the fast. jillian: not many details yet but that give you the main points anyway. we know from this proposal, 100% clean energy economy with net 0 emissions by 2050. recommit the paris agreement, take action against fossil fuel companies in reverse trump tax cuts for corporations. do you think that is enough to grab back rustbelt voters he needs? >> when you talk about raising taxes on corporations those voters will say we just lowered those taxes to make us companies competitive with overseas competitors and that has brought back jobs to the united states, we had half 1 million manufacturing jobs created. won't that reverse that trend? the answer is yes. if joe biden had to explain where the money was going to come from that is very easy but rolling back the tax increase which is 21 or the tax increase of 21%, to 26 or 7 which is what obama was talking about, only $700 million over ten years. this calls for $1.7 trillion in the federal government. that is a lot cheaper than the green new deal which estimates put anywhere up to $90 trillion. rob: it does go after asia and china. doesn't matter what we do if asia is the number one polluter. >> this is where all these plans fall short. china is emitting twice as much pollution in the air as the united states. whatever we do is a footnote from here on. china is a big issue and india as well. jillian: you mentioned a couple minutes ago he is in hot water for plagiarism. what do you think will come of this and how much of a problem is it? >> it is an unfortunate incident that caused him to abandon earlier presidential campaign. obviously a huge embarrassment. i'm sure what happened is his staff simply cut and paste a lot of things they thought were interesting together into a sketchy program. had it not been for the historical problem i don't think this would be a big deal but to me into alexandria ocasio cortez and other people who are really intense about this, this speaks to the not serious nature. rob: the response from the campaign, several citations, some from sources cited in other parts of the plan left out of the final version of the 22 page document saying they -- as soon as we were made aware that we updated to include the proper things but these were lifted a number of examples of it. >> not a very serious issue, stoneman douglas and failed to supply our town with mental health specialists resulting into more students committing suicide and the courage to go on twitter and post a video how successful a year he don't think it is going to develop but it will bring a lot of rainfall across areas that don't need to see it, houston, texas could get several inches of rainfall. a lot of hail and damaging wind and one tornado report across new mexico but this golf moisture coming towards texas and louisiana, that tropical thing we are keeping an eye on, whether it is a depression or storm it will bring a lot of rainfall. in terms of severe weather, large hail and damaging wind, isolated tornadoes across the ohio river valley, the mid-atlantic and marginal risk that extends from texas northward. tornado threat not a big deal but we can see straight line wind damage, and isolated tornado, flooding is the big concern, tropical moisture moves toward texas, louisiana, mississippi and all of that rainfall downward across the mississippi river valley from all the rain of the last couple weeks. all that tropical moisture moving inland through sunday, a bit of rainfall. there is the forecast. not much, first lady and queen will honor the 75th anniversary of d-day. rob: troops embarked on this journey across the english channel, 100 miles at most across the beaches of normandy to take on the nazis, to first go after the nazis moving into europe, take back france and eventually achieve that goal and moving to germany and when a critical war that changed the world. jillian: 4400 servicemen were killed, half of them american. going to be there for this remembrance ceremony, 300 veterans took part on d-day, they are all older than 90 years old, they will be leaving on a specially commissioned ship and retrace that 1944 journey across the english channel. a lot of people have been talking about the 75th anniversary, potentially the last time you will have those brave men who fought. rob: they are dying off. 1944, they were teenagers. not many of them left. many of the ones that are will meet the president and the queen, they did the and thinkable all those years ago marching into a beach heavily fortified by nazi forces marching in to something that has been captured in film but i cannot imagine the fear of marching into what could have been certain death. bullets going right into your boats and coming up on shore and being shot at. >> men told their story and one in particular sounding like what you are saying, he said he was in a boat and as they approached the shore he looked and he saw all these dead bodies and you are not even on shore yet. interesting to read these accounts was another thing to note, 15 world leaders of countries that follow along side on hand for this, german chancellor angela merkel invited to this, 16 world leaders expected to be there and this will mark the first time this any world leaders have gathered in britain since the 2012 one day, more than half on june 6th who died. >> you see the pictures of these men. they are older than 90 at this point. to hear what they have to say. a lot of them, a good number of them are going to be on hand for this, donald trump walking down right now. rob: it will be a great honor for him. it ended the nazi rain over europe. imagine the world today if these troops hadn't marched into will be held in portsmouth, taking a live look, the president and first lady landing in portsmouth and a lot of people. a lot of stories told. rob: 75 years ago tomorrow was d-day. jillian: 2123 democratic candidates qualified for the debates, the dnc said 20 to participate. only representative seth moulton and mayor wayne failed to qualify. the criteria is based on getting 1% in three separate polls or get campaign donations from 65,000 people in 23 states. the third debate will have those requirements. >> joe biden's climate change plan accused of plagiarism. donald from weighing
