the media doesn't stop this where do you see this going? >> they have real issues incredibly, undermining the institution in their attacks on trump. when people i think we don't believe you, we don't think you are objective, with -- the thing i tell people is the media wants to come off as purveyors of truth and rightness. the point where i view them as opinion, not journalists, not reporters, just another guy with an opinion coming into this arena and saying we have our own specific worldview, narrative we are going to drive, we just want -- here are the facts, you decide. rob: people stop listening. >> to see the media reaction they are so biased they are insulting as well, starting -- we are telling you what to think, they insult people and don't understand why people won't listen to them anymore. rob: when you go overseas and watch this in other countries it comes off as very boring, very dry, all information. i actually love watching the bbc because you are getting rock information. in america we have created this to be more of a business than it is journalism anymore and it is so profit driven, it is owned by major corporations, opinion sells in this country, opinion leads to bias and that is the difference between american journalism and journalism and the rest of the world. >> certain channels, certain outlets are going a certain way that is good for business and they have found certain channels found a financial market where they realize they want to hear a certain line, certain story it is profit driven in many ways. the sad thing is polarization taking place in america being driven in some ways by the profit model leading to increased polarization which is not a good trend for the american people. to get to the point we have a we need to get people off of government benefits and back into the workforce and with this booming economy a wonderful step forward. rob: also 70% of people when they did this study support the idea of work requirements for medicaid. show you are doing something if you are able-bodied. states bear some burden in the cost of medicaid and they came to the president working for supportive and is getting people to work, you say this is a bad idea, tell me why. >> this isn't a new idea, it has been around for a long time, tested in the 90s, found to do nothing except create a bureaucratic nightmare of red tape. it doesn't save any money. all it does is put an onerous requirement on people who are trying to work. the best way to increase employment in this country is to create jobs, not by taking healthcare from people, not by cutting off chemo for someone undergoing chemo treatment for their cancer, that is what this policy does. medicaid is the largest provider of long-term care in this country and this is a sneak attack on the entire system. rob: you say most adults that are able to are working when they are on medicaid already. you have a number to back that up? can you give me a number. >> avon heritage foundation scholars see that it is a vanishingly small percentage of the 20% that this policy applies to and exclude the primary recipients of medicaid who are seniors, children and people with disability. >> 40% of medicaid recipients that are not working that are able-bodied and 40% of 70 million people is a large number. the goal of government programs should not be trying to keep people there as long as possible but to get people off of government programs into the workforce. medicaid was designed as a temporary health benefit for the working poor, not for people that want to turn a safety net into a hammock. we need to get back into the workforce and thanks to the booming economy this is an opportunity to do so. >> the classic republican line is we are out here trying to get people of social assistance, off of their dependence on government and sounds like a way they are trying to do that. >> the establishment republicans making donald trump a liar from his promise not to cut social security, medicaid and medicare. this is an attack on the entire medicaid system including the fact that it is the largest provider of long-term care in this country, nursing home care $97,000 a year. that is what they are going after. >> it doesn't affect the elderly, these is for people who are elderly and under the age of 60 or try to find a job and does not affect elderly, don't demagogue the issue. >> a trojan horse attack on the entire system. rob: you have different numbers and i would be interesting to see the real levers, how any europe. jillian: there are 40,000 refugees in switzerland in 2016, that number changes year-to-year but my question is do you agree with this and how do you see it playing out? >> i do agree with the move. if somebody wants to get citizenship in a country, to prove they can speak the language, in the course of the last three years integrated and make friends in the community, show that they are prepaid to pay their way, if they received welfare during that period it is like paying back taxes and i think the swiss are wholly justified in doing this. >> the far left, people almost embarrassed to call themselves american in a lot of cases have this view of europe and nations like switzerland as shining examples of what america should hope to be if we can get there. these people call for open borders and socialistic policy when they see switzerland's make a move like this, what does that say to them? >> to hillary clinton and those further left of her they have always looked at europe and in particular the european union, the shining city on the hill where everything is totally civilized. i promise you the referendum of 2016 mark to pivot point in which the way europe is organized and what you are seeing in country after country citizens demanding put in place reasonable measures and the days of open borders, the days -- i genuinely believe those days are coming to an end what happened in switzerland is an example of that. jillian: donald trump canceled his trip to london. what are your thoughts on that move? >> very disappointed. we have amazing business relationship between our countries, great relationship, great security relationship. we are among the best friends in the world, we have an american president who unlike the previous one actually likes this country, but the bust of winston churchill in the oval office and visiting france and poland and italy and saudi arabia and china and elsewhere and still not been here. i find the whole thing very disappointing and made comments about the real estate deals that were done and a new one. and he's better qualified to comment on real estate than anyone else but something else in his mind, you have the left in this country, the labour party led by jeremy corbin, we have the mayor of london, all saying if trump comes they should be massive large-scale demonstrations and protests. i wonder if that
