>> he should be treated like any american citizen would be treated in a case like this, the gun case. any evidence of special treatment, that is where the political angle lies. the more serious problem, how did hunter biden make all this money. we can't abandon common sense. if his name wasn't biden, no way. he was trading on something, which was relationships with his father when his father was vice president. that is relevant to the extent biden was involved. if there were double dealing going on, chinese know that and have information on that and that could be used as leverage against the president of the united states. that is the question we need to be trying to answer. if there is evidence, it needs to be brought forward. if there isn't, there isn't. it is important question and something worth looking into seriously. >> carley: because of speculation and growing concern, speculation on kevin mccarthy to hold a vote. do you think the house should proceed with impeachment inquiry? >> i am not an impeachment fan. they impeach every president in peru. chinese look at that and it encourages them because america looks dysfunctional. reason they would do impeachment inquiry, is not to lead to impeachment, it is way to gain evidence, subpoenas are being ignored, courts are not enforcing them. they can gather evidence that proves there is nothing here or there is and we need to address it. i'm not rooting for impeachment, i want joe biden to lose an election. i don't think it is good for the country. we have seen the trauma inflicted on this country and continue to inflict because of that obsession. >> brian: talking about joe biden making fun of infrastructure week they never got it going during the trump administration. you know why? factories, industry, construction, in trades. they worked jobs where you take a shower after work, not before work. those are jobs that disappeared since we allow china to take those jobs. we no longer make things like we used to, build things, there are less of them and less that pay enough. that is a big factor. when we talk about the national interest, we have to make things and build things again because number one, it leaves us dependent on other countries and it is a source of good paying jobs for working clas men. >> carley: new cnn poll, do you think president biden policies have improved or worsened economic conditions in the united states. i have a feeling the biden administration will wake up not liking the answer. 58% of people say his policy worsened the economic condition. 18% said no effect whatsoever. what is your reaction to the poll? >> it reveals difference between what experts on television are talking about with economic number and reality of people who have seen cost of living go up 200% last two years. whose salary has doubled in last two years, who has seen that crease when you talk about basics from food and housing? i think economic numbers today are out of touch. they reflect macro, big picture indicators, when you drill down to the real person in the real world taking their kid to work and having to go to work and pay bills to not, it is a different world. elites and people in position of power talk one way, real life looks different. >> brian: here is what is maddening, gas prices are going up and production with saudis going down and the president chose yesterday to cut off drilling in alaska, which congress approved for pennies on the dollar and congress is about to mandate be put up. how was this allowed to happen? >> same executive authority that authorized it, deauthorized it, disapproval votes. majority party in senate agrees with this agenda that says we can make the worl have less hurricane and less wildfires if all we did was stop drilling for oil. that is a lie, that is not true. >> brian: of course it is. >> the prices people pay everyday will go up. increase in gas for someone who makes a lot of money, they don't notice or care. for working people who drop their kids off and drive far to work and come back in the afternoon, taking huge bite and making them more insecure. >> brian: shows they don't care. >> carley: incredible biden administration would make that move given the economic numbers. i guess that is his prerogative. thank you for joining us. >> steve: it is 8:12 eastern time. ashley is in the building where it is 72 degrees and she has headlines. >> ashley: kentucky police officer in critical, but stable condition after being stopped in a traffic stop in louisville. gunfire came from a nearby home. residents are being told to stay inside as swat team searches for the shooter and president biden rejecting plea deals for suspected 9/11 plotters after outrage from victim families.
