mike: trey, i'm wondering about the weather there because if we're looking for survivors and they're trying the hold on to life, i imagine a very9 hot situation would be difficult to survive. >> reporter: it's very hot and the rainy season is about to given, that's another major concern for rescue crews. if it starts to rain in the mountains or it rains here in marrakech, in this region all of the debris and dirt that's on the ground will turn to mud. it will be very difficult to get to some of these remote villages. and when that happens, it will be incredibly challenging for the rescue crews to do their jobs. so that is why many of these teams are working so quickly. they have to get to these people who are still trapped under the rubble in the areas south of marrakech, and they have to insure that the people with who lost their homes, who lost everything, these innocent moroccans who simply were at home on a friday evening when their homes began to shake and everything collapse around them, will have the aid they need. people are or fearful here, mike. we see people that are sleeping in the streets. they are worried that there could be aftershocks and that they could be a victim to these earthquakes. mike: let us hope and pray that the first responders can pull some more victims from the rubble alive. trey yingst live on scene, thank you very much. governor glenn glenn youngkin granting a pardon to a loudoun county father whose daughter was sexually assaulted in public school. the father was arrested and convicted of two criminal charges after an incident as he stood up for his daughter at the board of education meeting back in 2021. c.b. cotton is tracking the story. hello, c.b. >> reporter: hi, mike. virginia governor glenn youngkin told fox news' shannon bream that his pardon was about writing a wrong. scott smith's arrest became a focal point during the virginia gubernatorial election. now, smith's daughter was sexually assaulted in a bathroom by another student at a loudoun county high school back in 20 the 1 -- 2021. that same year the suspect was transferred to a different school where a second student was also sexually assaulted. smith attended a school board meeting saying the board failed to protect his daughter and accusing board members of trying to create a cover-up. smith, as you can see right there on your screen, was dragged out of the meeting, and the father was arrested and convicted of two misdemeanors. one charge was later dismissed, and the dad was set to appeal his disorderly conduct conviction later this month. that conviction now officially pardoned by youngkin who says this dad did nothing wrong. >> mr. smith did what any father would do, what any parent would do, stand up for their child. and even worse, what then happened was the perpetrator with us proved -- was moved to another school and sexually assaulted another young woman. this was a gross miscarriage of justice, and i was so pleased to be able to issue a full par for him. >> reporter: -- pardon for him. >> reporter: and the results of that investigation, i'm going to refer to hi notes here, mike, prompted the superintendent to be fired shortly after the superintendent was indicted on three misdemeanor charges. local outlets report the time is set to begin later this month. mike? mike: c.b. cotton reporting live, thanks very much. let's bring in today's political panel, with me today is talk raid show -- radio host tony katz and david carlucci. gentlemen, welcome. let's start with the news from that "fox news sunday" interview. the governor pardoning david smith after the terrible incident involving his daughter being sexually assaulted at a virginia high school, and he was frustrated, came to a school board meeting and was arrested. david, your thoughts. >> yeah. i mean, it hooks like youngkin is writing a wrong that was done. you have a parent, like anyone, that that's outraged that justice is not prevailing, and it looks like there's a further issue here of what we're now learning about cover-up from the school district which is very unfortunate. so, i mean, there's really not much to say here other than i'm glad that justice is prevailing, i'm glad that the governor got involved in this situation, and i'm hopeful that school boards are taking this seriously. it's unfortunate that it got to this. i mean, you see the video, you see that he's disgruntled. you need to, obviously, obey the police's orders, and that's really troubling here. but you totally understand when someone is in that heat of the moment. but they obviously have to follow the police orders. but i'm glad that this is something that the governor looked into and, hopefully, this will not happen again. mike: let's play some more from shannon's exclusive interview with governor youngkin today on "fox news sunday." >> let me just start where our policies arrested. it's empowering parents to be engaged in their children's lives, and the previous policy specifically included parents. mike: tony, it seems like a simple con cement, but it's connected for youngkin, no? >> first, it's good to see that governor youngkin passed the mike dukakis test. you're supposed to be disgusted when your child is sexually assaulted like if your wife was. and absolutely, you can understand people who want their pound of flesh. it isn't unfortunate, it is what we see are from school boards that don't want to listen to parents and actually want to cover up and support a narrative, the idea that somehow girls can say they're boys or boys can say they're girls, because that can't be done. and you have to, have to be protecting these children because men are not women and women are not men. but i think more to the point in this story, some people might say for governor with youngkin, what took so long. i think more to the point is that it is imperative that people keep going to school board meetings and keep speaking about what it is they're seeing in their kids' schools. i'm not saying you have to be disrespect respectful or violent, you should not be either one. but this is a story much more about trying to silence a parent, and that is the wrong that has been righted. a parent who, by the the way, has every right to be disgusted. that's the story in front of us. good on governor youngkin, and it's always important to remember that it's not -- it wasn't a conversation about unfortunate, it's a conversation about narrative that we see from these school boards that somehow think they can get away with anything. they can't. mike: okay. to 2024, and there are questions, of course, about president biden's age. today he had an interesting moment at a news conference where he seemed to get a little confused. let's play it. >> i see -- i'm just following my orders here. uh -- [no audio] e. >> staff, is there anybody i haven't spoken? mike: david, what do you make of that? >> hey, it could happen to the best of us. any of us makes a slip-up particularly when we're the focus of the media, so i don't really give it much credence. i know people are concerned about president biden's age and this has been a big debate, but i think most importantly we have to look to the record, to the facts, and president biden has been doing a really good job on delivering for constituents. look at the inflation reduction act that is now lowering the cost of piption drugs for seniors, for all americans across the country. so i think at the end of the day this is going to be a very important race for all of us, but i think it's a mistake to constantly focus on president biden's age. i think it would be right for the are republicans the focus on policy and don't fall for that catnip, if you will, about the age issue. >> mike, can i talk? >> if he's delivering, if he's not able to deliver, that's a different story. mike: tony, your thoughts. >> that dog won't hunt. this isn't one thing out of the blue, this is constant and consistent from joe biden who is old and is not capable, like we see it with mitch mcconnell with his freezing episodes. it's not dehydration can. we're not listening to his doctor, we much more believe dr. it's constant and consistent with joe biden, and it has to be stated. like with senator dianne feinstein the, like the issues with senator john fetterman who is not okay. and we should also be clear that the inflation reduction act was a lie. it doesn't reduce inflation. it was a green new deal-type deal which even the president admits was poorly named, and only a fool like joe manchin would have believed the the lie to vote for such a thing -- >> so now do you want to repeal the inflation reduction act? because that's what i hear you saying -- >> oh, my gosh. i don't want to have the spending anymore which has led to the inflation which means you pay more for eggs, milk, for bread -- >> so you're saying that we're paying more for products because of the inflation reduction act? are we saying that we're paying more because of the inflation reduction act? is that -- >> every time the government involves, add adds to spending, it creates more inflation. it's the not my fault -- >> so we shouldn't spend. >> -- you haven't realize a good economics book, but i would start reading hayek right away. >> the fact that the president has now delivered on ten drugs that that we can now negotiate the price of those drugs, drugs that americans take, more and more are taking -- >> let's not consider -- >> these are some important improvements. >> no, sir, i would reject the premise -- >> -- president biden is that he's delivering. and when you deliver -- >> let's not think that the -- [inaudible conversations] >> -- but the fact is he's actually getting results. >> let's not consider government price fixing is something that's good for america. the more price fixing for government, the less innovation from private industry. >> so just let pharma do -- [inaudible conversations] jam it down our throat? so if you have to pay for insulin, you should pay what the pharmaceutical companies demand? that's what's fleecing the american public. mike: tony, final word. >> with all due respect are, i don't think you understand the market at all. mike: david, tony, you guys can slug it out during the break. thanks very much. >> later. mike: the van stolen by an escaped convicted murder in pennsylvania was just toed away. let's go life live to nate foy for the latest developments. >> reporter: yeah, just about five minutes ago, that a van stolen from from a dairy farm last night between 7-10 p.m. was towed away. it just went down this road here, but i want to show you exactly where authorities towed it from. you can see a pennsylvania state trooper is blocking off access to this road. we're in east pennsylvania about 10 miles from the phoenixville area where cavalcante was seen on a ring camera. and he has changed his appearance from what we have seen on the trail cameras at longwood gardens. boy, how everything has changed just in the past 12 hours in this search. so, again, last night he stole that van, he came here, and right now we have no indication that he has been captured, although we do know that authorities now have possession of the van that he stole. so around this neighborhood which is very, very rural we have statement, federal, local -- state, federal, local authorities, border patrol, fbi with k-9s canvassing this area, trying to see if he's still here. it's the unclear if he stole another car or if he's still in this area. but there is still a significant police presence here. take a look at the van that police say he stole. it's a 2024 transit van. again, didn't have it for very long. we just learned of it morning, and authorities have already towed it away. and i want to also make sure that our viewers see the change to his appearance, mike. take a look at these pictures from a ring camera in the phoenixville area. when he escaped, heed had quite a shaggy look. he's now clean shaven. you see him wearing a baseball cap, a hooded sweatshirt. still his green prison pants, that's sort of the only common thread with what he's been wearing ever since his escape two thursdays ago now. this is the 11th day of this manhunt. so people here are frustrated. now the sort of danger zone has shifted a bit part away. there was, you know, multiple days that longwood gardens was the sole focus of the search. in fact, last night the search perimeter was less than a square mile. now that he had a van and who knows if he has another car at this point, the search perimeter is unknown, but we're seeing a strong police presence here, and we'll continue following this, and we'll keep pushing our sources and try to get some breakthroughs in this manhunt. back to you, mike. mike: nate foy live on the ground in pennsylvania, we'll head back if there's breaking news. thanks very much. the biden administration facing questions on the economy and border policy amid low polling numbers. a live report from the white house next. ♪ (alternate voice) denture disaster, darling! we need poligrip before crispy popcorn. >> yeah. look, energy is a world market, and you do have players like saudi arabia, like russia, opec, they're try thering to basically prop prices up, so they're pulling back on production. but, look, america is the biggest energy producer in the world and, unfortunately, biden is doing everything he can to curtail that production. he is restricting drilling in an war, he's increasing royalties -- anwr, he's increasing royalties and costs for american fossil fuel companies to exploit that energy, to bring it out of the ground. put it all together, and it's a much less than hospitable environment to get the energy that americans need to power the economy forward. mike: jonathan, what about all the emphasis in his administration about green energy and the government spending on it? >> yeah. that's exactly it, mike. $500 to billion is a minimum estimate, goldman sachs has estimated that the so-called inflation reduction act could cost americans upwards of $1.3 trillion. that's real money. and if you're interested in actually curtailing inflation, once again, take a tip from jimmy carter. by the end of the 1970s, he was cutting spending, cutting the size of government. biden is going in just the opposite direction which according to me, mike, is one of the reasons why inflation simply isn't going away anytime soon. mike: we're almost out of time, but people are always concerned about the next recession. how do you see it? mike: trey, i'm wondering about the weather there because if we're looking for survivors and they're trying the hold on to life, i imagine a very9 hot situation would be difficult to survive. >> reporter: it's very hot and the rainy season is about to given, that's another major concern for rescue crews. if it starts to rain in the mountains or it rains here in marrakech, in this region all of the debris and dirt that's on the ground will turn to mud. it will be very difficult to get to some of these remote villages. and when that happens, it will be incredibly challenging for the rescue crews to do their jobs. so that is why many of these teams are working so quickly. they have to get to these people who are still trapped under the rubble in the areas south of marrakech, and they have to insure that the people with who lost their homes, who lost everything, these innocent moroccans who simply were at home on a friday evening when their homes began to shake and everything collapse around them, will have the aid they need. people are or fearful here, mike. we see people that are sleeping in the streets. they are worried that there could be aftershocks and that they could be a victim to these earthquakes. mike: let us hope and pray that the first responders can pull some more victims from the rubble alive. trey yingst live on scene, thank you very much. governor glenn glenn youngkin granting a pardon to a loudoun county father whose daughter was sexually assaulted in public school. the father was arrested and convicted of two criminal charges after an incident as he stood up for his daughter at the board of education meeting back in 2021. c.b. cotton is tracking the story. hello, c.b. >> reporter: hi, mike. virginia governor glenn youngkin told fox news' shannon bream that his pardon was about writing a wrong. scott smith's arrest became a focal point during the virginia gubernatorial election. now, smith's daughter was sexually assaulted in a bathroom by another student at a loudoun county high school back in 20 the 1 -- 2021. that same year the suspect was transferred to a different school where a second student was also sexually assaulted. smith attended a school board meeting saying the board failed to protect his daughter and accusing board members of trying to create a cover-up. smith, as you can see right there on your screen, was dragged out of the meeting, and the father was arrested and convicted of two misdemeanors. one charge was later dismissed, and the dad was set to appeal his disorderly conduct conviction later this month. that conviction now officially pardoned by youngkin who says this dad did nothing wrong. >> mr. smith did what any father would do, what any parent would do, stand up for their child. and even worse, what then happened was the perpetrator with us proved -- was moved to another school and sexually assaulted another young woman. this was a gross miscarriage of justice, and i was so pleased to be able to issue a full par for him. >> reporter: -- pardon for him. >> reporter: and the results of that investigation, i'm going to refer to hi notes here, mike, prompted the superintendent to be fired shortly after the superintendent was indicted on three misdemeanor charges. local outlets report the time is set to begin later this month. mike? >> first, it's good to see that governor youngkin passed the mike dukakis test. you're supposed to be disgusted when your child is sexually assaulted like if your wife was. and absolutely, you can understand people who want their pound of flesh. it isn't unfortunate, it is what we see are from school boards that don't want to listen to parents and actually want to cover up and support a narrative, the idea that somehow girls can say they're boys or boys can say they're girls, because that can't be done. and you have to, have to be protecting these children because men are not women and women are not men. but i think more to the point in this story, some people might say for governor with youngkin, what took so long. i think more to the point is that it is imperative that people keep going to school board meetings and keep speaking about what it is they're seeing in their kids' schools. i'm not saying you have to be disrespect respectful or violent, you should not be either one. but this is a story much more about trying to silence a parent, and that is the wrong that has been righted. a parent who, by the the way, has every right to be disgusted. that's the story in front of us. good on governor youngkin, and it's always important to remember that it's not -- it wasn't a conversation about unfortunate, it's a conversation about narrative that we see from these school boards that somehow think they can get away with anything. they can't. mike: okay. to 2024, and there are questions, of course, about president biden's age. today he had an interesting moment at a news conference where he seemed to get a little confused. let's play it. >> i see -- i'm just following my orders here. uh -- [no audio] e. >> staff, is there anybody i haven't spoken?
