levels were customs and border protection's of the number of migrants who have been crossing over our country has increased. they show a number that is going up. more than 200 30,000 encounters last month. the most for any august on record. meanwhile cities in the border to the northeast they're all trying to scramble and deal with the overflow. hello everyone welcome to a brand-new hour a fox live i'm eric shawn. hi arthel. arthel: hello everyone i am arthel neville. a llumpy staggering numbers fox news cameras showing just how desperate migrants are to enter the u.s. as they cross under and through razor wire. now that nonstop surge is taking a search on border cities like eagle pass, texas where the mayor declared a state of emergency this week. some residents say they fear for their safety. proximate every time you make a trip anywhere from point a to point b you encounter these illegal aliens is that around the community. it's got to the point you're driving around and they are digging through trash cans and stuff like that. we do not feel safe but especially our elderly folks. right now they are on high alert progressive live fox team coverage for you. mark emeritus at the white house responsible for elite versus cartographic jenkins he is live at the border eagle pass, texas. >> and arthel the state of emergency exists still here and eagle pass. we have talked a lot about the hot temperatures here where we are. the real feel temperature in excess of 105 degrees that was a factor reaching a breaking point here just a little while ago. when border sources tell us here at the border patrol had to cut through the razor wire miles of dense and dangerous wire here along the riverbank. had to cut through to let a group of more than 100 through because children, women, single adult men were starting to succumb to the temperatures taking a real toll they called in medics. they got the migrant group through the wire at our now processing them for that is what you are looking at under that bridge. you see the migrants and the shade and many being treated for heat exhaustion. a couple of hour goes home we were talking we were seeing texas national guard and the raft trying to turn the migrants back. ultimately they had to let them across to the efforts on behalf of texas governor greg abbott who took to twitter essays going to try to start turning them back neither the razor work nor the efforts to turn them back is going to be successful. the migrants are coming and it was a human turn crisis situation with the heat here and the migrants stuck in these temperatures trying to get through that razor wire. you have to add to its our varguersunderstand the number of migrants is compounding this problem significantly. more than seven or 50 migrants have arrived here going past our cameras just today. in the last seven days more than 11000 here just in eagle pass a bit across the entire southwest border i'm giving you a lot of numbers here they are averaging more than 9000 daily. the snapshot you are looking at now with the migrants under the bridge many being treated for heat exhaustion, border officials here at the federal level having to make the difficult decision to cut the razor wire them in place by the state of texas because they felt these migrant lives were in danger, heat, dehydration, takes a toll many do die we have witnessed the death of this week in the past three days three migrants have drowned just in the currents earlier this morning we saw a handful of migrants struggling to get across the river. fortunately those migrants did indeed make it. that is really the snapshot that you see right now it has reached unprecedented levels we have never seen. fox's been covering the border for more than two and half years since the numbers began increasing. it has never been this worse to give a little context of what this specific border unit here in eagle pass they have two stations at any given day they can have upwards of about 50 agents on duty. that is what you are dealing with with the upwards of 1000 coming here. the official sources say 80 -- 90% of those are having to deal the processing would had a% nicely migrants being treated under this bridge. a medics called it you cannot get cold water here fast enough to the migrants have been traveling in many cases for weeks or months they started many of them in the gap in the jungle between panama and colombia columbia making the tro central america. all the way through mexico. the danger and whim of these mexican cartels who have a grasp on the migrants lives finally getting here they are not deterred by one last obstacle being that razor wire. although the heat taking a toll right now we are keeping a close eye on the situation here, arthel will send it back to you. arthel: chaos with children involved. griff jenkins thank you very much for that report, eric? [laughter] thank you. eric? >> arthel a new report from the world health organization finds one in three adults around the globe live with high blood pressure also known as hypertension. nearly half the adults that have it do not even know it it's called the silent killer at affects over 1.3 billion people. it causes 10 million avoidable deaths per year they say. that number likely to rise as the global population grows, people live longer and the american heart association says about 122 million americans have appeared boxed medical contributor dr. marty makary joins us on this. doctor marty comment how do you know if you have high blood pressure? you go to the doctor, you get high blood pressure can you feel it? do you know it if if you're walg around with that? >> actually you don't feel it. for the vast majority people of high blood pressure they have no symptoms that is why it's called the silent killer. over decades of the high blood pressure in your blood system pushes on your organs and can cause renal failure, stroke and other bad things down the road. but half the people with high blood pressure are totally unaware they have it. that is the basis of the new world health organization report to try to bring focus to untreated hypertension. eric: what do you telling viewers to find out if they do have it? >> debbie which waiter took a sg medication based approach. it is easily treated with medication. but a lot of other doctors are taking issue with that approach. they are saying let's start with lifestyle changes maybe we need to talk about treating high blood pressure mort with good sleep medicine practices with the stress management. with exercise, with smoking secession. with less alcohol use. all of those are factors in driving high blood pressure. the field of sleep medicine is maturing rapidly right now. we are learning a lot about the health consequences of not sleeping well. one of those is the muscle in the blood vessel stays tight. the tone is high that results in higher pressure in your blood system. eric: can you describe sleep medicine is that the examination and the effect of sleep? i mean i really do believe in sleep i believe in naps. does that help lower blood pressure? >> sleep medicine now is describing 12 different areas where people may not be sleeping well for certain reasons. some may not be sleeping well and have no idea or have the wrong idea. fate might just think it is genetic and they don't sleep well or they need a sleeping pill. it may be because they have airway obstructions sleep apnea affects 20% the population can be managed easily but some people don't sleep well because of night light or noise contamination there sleeping in rooms to warm. everyone has their own idea of the snout auteur area of medicine you get evaluated. eric: what if you are overweight how far overweight in terms of high blood pressure? looks absolutely those driving at. from about one and three peoplee have high blood pressure. that is no surprise that is also the rate of morbid obesity in the population. but to go hand in hand for the problem is you do not know for sure. you may think you have high blusher blood pressure because you are overweight and you may not because you're underweight. and you may have it backwards is no strong correlation there is just an association. these are things doctors can easily treat and sometimes you can go to a local grocery store or any health clinic and get your blood pressure checked. you can buy these devices now at a pharmacy part you want to have a blood pressure generally under the number 140 over 90 per if you are over those numbers that's generally start recommending some kind of treatment either lifestyle changes or medication. eric: i see the blood pressure thing over the side and the drugstore. you just put your arm in it. can you again doctor repeat those numbers at ideal questioner. >> you want a blood pressure under 140 over 90. 140 is the top never the systolic and 90 is a lower number of its height once or twice don't worry. many people of high blood pressure because they are worried with that number is going to come out too. it is like doctors generally check it on two separate visits with multiple readings. eric: what is the difference between systolic and those two numbers? [laughter] >> the top number the systolic is when the heart is it forcing the blood through that is the high side of the pressure. when the blood is relaxed and there's less pressure that is the lower number than 90 that we want to see people under. eric: quickly finally i've heard is that a wives tale bananas does that help blood pressure?
