rachel: this is how we roll, florida georgia line. pete: it's light out in rhode island. rachel: do you believe that, sean? will: does providence, rhode island, exist? pete: lights came on a bit earlier and rhode island is close and further up in new england. will: we've got rainy weather and we're in the middle of a canyon of buildings. rachel: shiny rhode island is blocked by the skyscrapers and good morning, will. good morning, pete. down to the second hour. pete: we are. second hour of the show and will can't get a run down. sometimes he gets in a little late. to the best of my recollection it's called leadership. rachel: i told you in the break what i thought it was. pete: we're happy to be here and we have three more hours in the show and we don't know what we're going to cover in the show. will doesn't know. rachel: we're going to let it unfold before us. it's a wonderful way to dot show. pete: let's do it with a fox weather alert. tropical storm ophelia making landfall in north carolina less than an hour ago and will: winds hammering the american flag whipping in the ocean city wind on your screen. rachel: brandy campbell live in the outer banks with more. so windy, wow. reporter: yeah, yeah, it's an odd mix of things and that landfall happened about 100 miles southwest of us but right now we've got a nice sunrise going on here in cape hatteras and we've got the winds and they're kicking right now on the beach you're getting pounded with sand and that's what i'm going through at this moment and talk about the elements and look at the ocean and the ocean has been angry since thursday night i would say and the wave heights out there between 50 and 15 with 20 feet tall and out with the low tide and they're threatening overwatch where we are and the pull out my anemometer and tell you how high the winds are at this moment. i'm getting between about 25 miles per hour and kind of slowed downright when i pull it had out and even higher throughout this morning. i do want to show you guys what happened and this one video from ocean city, maryland, they had flooding that occurred there and in other cities of north carolina as well did have flood issues and in response to the tropical storm ophelia, governors of north carolina and virginia all declared a state of emergency and that'll allow their states to get resources ready for any response and recovery efforts. some of the main risks i should say that people are susceptible to, one, yes winds, that can knock over trees and take power lines down and cause power outages as well as storm surge from south carolina going up to the jersey shore. we could get 2-4 feet of storm surge here if things line up for that to happen. of course when we get rain, thankfully we're dry right now and you can also see flooding just from rain as well, guys. for now, i'm going to say we're pretty lucky. we don't have the rain but we have the wind and at least we have sort of clear skies and a nice sunrise that's happening. back to you all. will: thank you, brandy. rachel: thank you so much, brandy. appreciate it. for more on this storm, download the fox weather app or stream fox weather on any tv connected device. will: dhs secretary alejandro mayorkas will visit the border in mcallen, texas, where he'll see that august had a historic month. 230,000 encounters with illegal immigrants beating the record from last august and it's roughly 10,000 a day. pete: unreal. the question is will he see it. probably not. whitewashed sanitized version but those numbers, when -- here we are in september of 2023 after all we've gone through and all the numbers we've reported and now we're saying it's a record. rachel: it's unbelievable. pete: it's a straight up invasion. it's a straight up invasion facilitated by us. will: see the texas of governor? he invoked article 1 section 10 clause 3, i think it's correct, of the united states constitution declaring invasion of the border. rachel: cvp put out a tweet saying on september 1, joe biden released more than 100,000 illegal immigrants. that's enough to double the population by the way in yuma. i mean, how many more of these are we going to see? what's happening is the most dangerous border in the entire world. people dying. we're not hearing about that. pete, you mentioned they took down -- this story is unbelievable. pete: we've got to put this tape and maybe later on the show. i was watching on the channel testimony in front of capitol hill this week and testimony saying the surveillance equipment that was put on the border under the trump administration has been removed. so there's three ways you can secure a border. secure it with physical barriers, which is the wall, with people, or with surveillance. so far they've targeted all three. the billion's got to come down and -- wall's got to come down and can't build anymore. surveillance has been removedmod and people are being used, border patrol agents are facilitating that. rachel: they're changing diapers not guarding the border. pete: i don't know what to make of it at this point other than they have to want this. of course they want this. it's intentional. rachel: it's amazing to see surveillance cameras not on the border but in theaters catching people making out in beetle juice. just think about what's happening in the country. these crowds, this is what you're seeing right here event y day and rfk jr. said 7 million since joe biden has taken office. pete: these are military-aged males. look at that crowd. these are military-aged males and not family units and not -- look at that. what is that? rachel: these are people that could be back in their own countries making them better but also what ends up happen asking when people are in the country not doing well like say one of the latin american countries and they accept political pressure for change and they're all coming here and we're not going to get the reform they say we need in latin america and everyone's coming up this way, which is absolutely overwhelming our system. will: remember the other day when peter doocy attempted to ask a question of karine jean-pierre and deflected and pointed at republicans and basically quickly moved on. she asked for a do over. >> you had thoughts about the back and forth yesterday and maybe we should try this again. >> same question as yesterday. >> can you repeat the question. >> what do you call it when 10,000 people illegally cross the border? >> what the president was able to do, he imposed consequences for those who do not have the legal basis to remain and he has removed more than 250,000 individuals, this administration has done so since may 12. so we've taken action, the president secured and he also secured record funding -- let's not forget this record funding the president fought for over the last year or so, was opposed by the house republicans. this is something that they opposed and didn't want to see. pete: get to it. get to it. republicans, got it. rachel: she keeps citing that we're providing funding but the fund asking only to process and move them into the interior of the country. it's not funding for securing the border so it's so disingenuous. meanwhile robert f. kennedy jr. has this to say about the bo border. >> i understand that a lot of the democrats promoted this policy at the beginning of the biden administration out of humanitarian impulse but it's been a catastrophic failure. it's caused a humanitarian crisis at the border. our border policies are now being administered by the mexican drug cartels and we've brought 7 million illegal immigrants into this country over the past three years and most by the way when i went down there, we only ran -- i interviewed about 300 immigrants coming across, only two of them, two groups from latin america had any kind of asylum claims. the rest said we're here to work. we ought to have an open -- we ought to have open gates that encourage legal immigration and make it an easier path to citizenship. just opening the boarders, there's no country in the world that can do that and survive. rachel: this is really interesting development. you have a democrat candidate talking about the border. i just wonder how, is he reflecting what's the sentiment of the democrat party or the outsider saying what, you know, what independents are thinking or is he reflecting the thoughts of democrats that are finally sick and tired of this policy? will: not the activists and extremists that want this. there's no spot or country in the world that can do that in the world. rachel: the reason he knows this is he went there and interviewed a border patrol agent from eagle pass and eagle pass the mayor has been -- democrat mayor begging joe biden to come and he will not come and see eagle pass or any of the border towns. will: miguel cardona said when it comes to parents complaining about what's happening in schools, it's the parents who are misbehaving. watch this. >> i've been in education, you know, about 25 years. not including the time i was in higher ed as a student. i've never seen it where it is now. there was civility. we could disagree. we could have healthy conversations around what's best for kids. i respect differences of opinion. i don't have too much respect for people misbehaving in public and acting if they know what's right for kids. that hypocrisy, i want to call it out at the top of the conversation because there's a team that's fighting for kids and there's a team that's fighting against kids. pete: oh my god. rachel: wow. will: seriously. rachel: this is a reflection -- will: parents are on a team not fighting for kids. parents are misbehaving. i mean, that was gasesied up in some soft talk -- gussied up in soft talk and the cloak of empathy and sincerity. that was awful. rachel: it is a sign of the deep frustration and the deep left and the monopoly and the cartel that has a hold of our children's education. they're frustrated that the tables might be starting to turn. pete: he said parents are people but all about parents misbehaving in public. know why parents are misbehaving in public. will: they're not. pete: yeah, but that's code for speaking out at school boards and know why they're doing that? you're misbehaving in private and spent decades ramming crap into curriculums and kids in baltimore can't read, can't do math, but they're teaching them about pushing them in private for years. for covid and everything else that was exposed and they're absolutely fed up and you're 25 years -- i've been 25 years in education. good for you, shmuck and you got dumber. like everyone else in their 25 years of education got dumber. rachel: it was a nassau county nating inter--- it was a fascinating interview in the 6:00 hour. this is blanca and she's a baltimore mom of three. listen to what she had to say, shocking. >> if we don't have a leader that prioritizes students and families, it starts at the top. then that leader doesn't inspire a parent to be engaged and to be held accountable. if a student is not going to show up at school, we need to reach the parent. we need to make sure that that parent receives the support they need to make sure their scholar is in school and curriculum needs overhauled and nothing to do with money. we have plenty of money but we are not prioritizing the students. pete: by the way, she's a public school administrator. went onto say not only are they not reading math or reading, but they're being taught in seventh grade like weirdly weird sexual masturbation stuff in school and they're being together that and not actual -- taught that and not actual basics. rachel: can you imagine what they're teaching kids and things that shouldn't even be mentioned in school. and at the same time we get the reading grades. this is probably one of the worst school systems you see like zero percent of the students that could pass. will: 6,000 kids. rachel: zero pass in math and proficiency. all the scores are embarrassing and the rest of the world is kicking our butt and we're allowing in cartel of cultural marxists to take your money and indoctrinate your kids. will: you were so clearly upset a minute ago. you looked -- pete: what an arrogant -- will: i know. something about that clip is so odious and the faux sincerity of it all. it's someone failing or succeeding in indoctrination and failing to educate your children and apply this not to just education but disaster relief and somebody points out your failures and you go, you know, you used to be able to disagree. pete: yes. will: no, you're failing. you know, you're misbehaving. no, you're failing. pete: that is. don't condescend to my face as you fail and tell me when i get angry i'm misbehaving. rachel: some of the bisbehaving isn't even about scores or test scores and eco academic things. one of the misbehaving parents f pulled out of a school board meeting and went in to complain his daughter was raped by a transgender using her bathroom. we're not even beyond the academics and we're talking about the safety of schools and children and they continue to push their ideology and seriously, again, i can't say it enough time and i'm going to be a broken record and i know that pete will too, get your kids out of these schools. there's not enough time to reform this. when you have people like miguel cardonas at the head of department of education and liberals wonder why republicans and conservatives and normal people want to get rid of the department of education. pete: i'd like to invite miguel cardona on our program any time to defend the status of his education department in america right now. miguel, if you or your friends are watching, come on out. will: yeah, for sure. maybe not, maybe you'll see it on the internet, inter-webs, al gore's pipes. will: the high probability. a few headlines and authorities expanding the manned hunt for the inmate accidently release from a indiana jail due to clerical error and they believe kevin mason is no learn in indianapolis and searching several other cities as well and not disclosing which o ones and mason was on the run for two years after shooting and kill ago man in minneapolis. the minneapolis church parking slot he was arrested last week in indianapolis and released two days later. authorities kept it quiet for six days to have "a tactical advantage". keep it here, nancy grace joins us later in the show to discuss. republican presidential candidate nikki haley unveiling her economic agenda focusing on reducing federal columbia and cutting ta taxes and she calledt joe biden for regulations on lightbulbs, gas stoves and more. >> in the declaration of independence, the founders accuse king george of sending "swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance. but the british had nothing on joe biden". pete: haley takes the stage at second republican primary debate at 9:00 eastern. catch the whole thing live on sister network, fox business. and to baseball with braves star ronald acuna. i know acuna making history last night, watch. >> that's a rocket to left, will she stay in. there it is. that's no. 40 for acuna. pete: acuna becoming the first player ever to hit home runs and stealing bases in the same season and who was the first guy to do it? pete: 40-40? most prominent of the era? he was one of my favorite players, jose canseco. he was voted for mlb mvp award and the yankee's win over arizona last night and judge get ago curtain call and the first player in history to have multiple three run games in one season. those are your headlines. will: we might be headed for a twins, rangers first round playoff series, we might. pete: it's lining up? will: al west has three teams involved and only two of them will make it. pete: we'll make a big, lot of money or something consequential rachel: coming up, man arrested for killing a la county deputy avoids the death penalty thanks to district attorney's gascon's soft on crime agenda. that's next. start your is coming, oh no, and seasonal respiratory ills in children and nationwide shortage of a basic kid's antibiotics is worrying some kids ahead of cold and flu season. for nearly a year, a liquid version of amocks sillen treating -- amoxicillin treating kids for everything from ear aches and sore throats is in short supply. welcome, doctor. why are we seeing in shortage. >> well, they say it's supply chain issues and increase in illness. we had an rsv season in some summer viral seasons that were unexpected and this results in secondary infections like ear infections and prescribed rates of antibiotics and this supply chain stuff is a real answer and there's questions we -- none of us understand and i wish we had better answers. rachel: my understanding is anno, ma'am sillen is produced -- amoxicillin is produced in china and it seems like a serious issue if parents can't get the things they need and get health think.y. we need multiple plants and that's my concern for the primary care pediatrician and start the day by finding out which pharmacies have it in stock and tell your patients where to go and hoping by the end of the day, they're not out. rachel: sounds like third world instead of america. things we nevada saw before, interesting. another issue that's fascinating to me, half of parents are now giving their children melatonin to help them sleep. experts are usualing caution and what are your thoughts on giving children melatonin as well. >> when children don't sleep, parents don't sleep and that's what's really going on here. it's very disruptive to the whole home when one child doesn't sleep. sleep is a need, not a want. so that's why parents are going to melatonin and it's an ongoing problem and melatonin is inappropriate when they use all cycle for one reason or another and you're jet lagged and staying up too many nights in a row and they have to get up early for school and they don't feel tired and that's a good short term use anl. rachel: melatonin is produced naturally in the body and if you take it, your broad i did think it is has it and stops producing it. >> that's right. there's tricks and life hacks to get your body to produce more melatonin and the easiest one is no blue light for blue light and turning off the screens and i tell my patients you need bedtime and your screens need a bedtime and screen's bedtime is an hour before you go to bed. then dim your house lights and this allows that natural melatonin released from the brain to lay down and go to sleep. rachel: e routine is so importat and the natural ways to give your child a warm bath maybe with lavender and stop going to the other things that must just throw their whole hormones and system off. i believe that melatonin can affect their sex hormones and that's something to think about as well. doctor, thank you for joining us today. really appreciate it. >> thank you for having me. rachel: of course. coming up, country music star chris jansen joins kevin mctar think is cutting $30 -- mccarthy is cutting $300 million in funding from the ukraine spending bill and it'll be brought up in a separate vote. funds dedicated to ukraine exempted from any government shut down. rachel: unbelievable. will: on golf, team usa getting off to a great start at the cup in spain leading europe 5-3 and danish golfer emily peterson leading the show and bringing the crowd to its feet at the 12th hole. will: that was just a second hole in one in the event's history. tournament continues today and those are your headlines. pete: all right, we're 13 months away from the rhetoric and 13 months and if you read a certain op ed, they're making an argument on the left inside the so called mainstream legacy press that we shouldn't be neutral and the press shouldn't be neutral and truthful. there's always been a debate on the left. how much should we actually cover on the other side? how much oxygen should we give to that other side? now they're saying in order to save democracy we should give none. it should be basically one side and portion of op ed by margaret sullivan with the op ed in the mainstream press must change its way and this is how they say they should change their ways. christian reported all over the world and the democracy on the brink when she sees one and we have to be truthful and the platform that want to crash down the constitution in democracy and it's an important call to action. but so far the american press is failing to meet its responsibility to adequately emphasize the stakes of the coming election. will: what's interesting about this, i actually agree in part. neutrality in and of itself is not the pursuit of truth. you tell the truth as you see it. i'm awes one saying be honest about your bias and.. tell them they can have the authentic information and the problem is they believe that that should live in a fortress of solitude and should never encounter anything of this agreement and anything of disagreement is then in turn a threat to democracy. my peak spl spective and i'll teleou what i believe and hear how i'm wrong and i have the strong belief and it's inpenetrable fact and anybody saying something else is a threat to democracy that's been platformed. rachel: anyone who says something else is often censored and so this is really just code for save knock seizure disorders or in the name of knock seizure disorders is just we need to protect, not just democracy but our ideology and our party. they're just more bold. it's interesting they're saying in stuff out loud. pete: they call themselves journalingists and say our job is to -- journalists and our job is to call balls and strikes. will: they failed the first test being honest about bias and opinion. they said it's the truth. pete: the opinion and the truth. here's an nbc. we have a quote as well from nbc reporter on twitter. will: ben colins. pete: agreeing. everyone in the news should read this and everyone outside of the news business demand cable tv networks, demand that they abide by it. in short with knock seizure disorders on the ballot, mainstream press must change its ways. rachel: it's interesting too that the party that they're backing umm or supporting through this -- up or supporting through this are the same people that are weaponnizing the fbi against their opponents and the opposite of the one censoring and it's just so -- or colluding with big tech to censor and this is -- it's so hypocritical and autocratic. will: they wrote the following, we must save democracy by pushing or establishing one party rule and a line around media circles and this is about saving democracy. aren't they all anymore? and as such, no one should report critically on biden, our president, stories like biden's age or finances are not important to cover given the broader situation and everyone outside of the news business should demand table tv networks and newspaper out lets abide by it wrote ben colins, dc. yes, ben colins, we agree. no one full of good reporters should report on anything interesting regarding the president and those that do should be shamed into submission to you, ben colins. rachel: yeah, that's the world they want us to live in. sounds a lot like china. pete: don't report on the president and his failings because the bigger goal is saving democracy. will: there's a moral truth that requires you to sacrifice the real truth. pete: behind it all is donald trump. rachel: exactly. stop trump. pete: save knock seizure disorders. that's what they -- save democracy. that's what they mean. at least they're saying it out loud. coming up, helping hawaii and life saving items being donated and lifestyle expert kerry is next. this isn't just freight. these aren't just shipments. they're promises. promises of all shapes and sizes. each, with a time and a place they've been promised to be. a promise is everything to old dominion, because it means everything to you. will: earlier we showed you how americans are assisting in mow wee wild fire re--- maui wild fire relief efforts and kerry riley is one of the members and she's with a ken polcari donates and after the show, you said could you get air purifiers donated to maui and got all of this instead. >> i know. at one point i texted you we might need a bigger boat like in jaws.
