>> well, ultimately, they are, but they're waiting to see if president trump makes a mistake if, that we overreact to something, does something happen in the sea or potentially in the air or on the ground where they can get footage where it appears we're the aggressors, and then they can turn the whole narrative against us. so it's high stakes poker here. i understand putin likes to play poker. but if we continue on this trajectory both in the day-to-day activities and with regards to strategy, we're exactly on the right course here. we're reestablishing peace through strength, strategy that helped president reagan win the cold war. so, you know, this is the thing, and it's not a quips dense that we're being challenged -- coincidence that we're being challenged in the south china sea. you'll recall, eric, that president putin met recently with president xi from china and also, look, president kim from north korea as well. all of this has been orchestrated because the trajectory of world politics right now are moving in our favor, and those countries don't like it. they want it to change. eric: yeah. xi and putin were together the yesterday in st. petersburg at this big conference which we, the united states, was absent. so what does the president do? does he pick up the red phone and talk to putin and say, cut it out? not only do you have russia challenging us in these incident, but you also have the election interference in which they tried to get into our election systems which are, they are suspected -- expected to do that again in the 2020 presidential race. >> well, you're exactly right. so there are several things that need to happen here, some of which the acting secretary of defense just mentioned. there's going to be military to military contact. we're going to insist that they stop doing this. we're going to continue to release that footage, that video footage to show that we are telling the truth the, they're working propaganda. and then top line messages, i suspect that secretary of state pompeo is going to communicate as well. we need to all be on the same page on this. this line of diplomacy that they're working right now is futile. it's not going to work. keep in mind the big picture here. they've trying to knock us off our game. they see what's happening here with regard to trade, with regard to our strategic priorities, our growing economy. they want to get us to somehow make a mistake. they're trying to force a turnover here. we should not allow that to happen. eric: hopefully, they'll get that message before there is a serious incident and someone on either side gets hurt. congressman chris gibson who has served and, of course, thank you for your service i say as we went through the remembrance of d-day. you are what america's about, thank you. >> thank you, eric. eric: arthel? arkansas a well, record flooding this year is wreaking havoc on communities across the country that is no different for people in the mississippi gulf coast who are not sure if their fishing industry can hold up against the might of mother nature. fox's charles watson explains. >> reporter: a calm day on the water in the mississippi gulf coast, but for commercial fishermen who make a living catching and selling marine life in these waters, it's a sign of trouble. >> i don't think we're ever going to see any easy days this year. >> reporter: life on the water is all kevin knew. >> going to a different place. >> reporter: he's made a living there for most of miss life. this year, not so much. record rainfall gorging the mississippi river forcing the army corps of engineers force -- to open the spillways twice this year. >> i've got my tanks off right now. >> reporter: the spillway is open to relieve pressure on levees along the mississippi river. of the problem is that fresh water ends up here, forcing marine life to move elsewhere if the freshwater doesn't kill them. out on the water signs are evident, some marine life moving farther out into saltier water to survive. those who do stay could meet an untimely death. so far more than 100 dolphins have washed ashore this year, and mississippi's oyster reefs have all but been destroyed. >> if this trend continues of opening the spillway every year or two, those oysters are not going to recover. >> reporter: commercial fishers here are in dire need of emergency federal funds to keep this industry afloat. >> we've lost probably 60-70% of the shrimp and oyster fleet over the last ten years. if we keep going the way that we're going, there won't be an industry left. >> reporter: for now, fishermen are doing what's necessary to survive. >> everything you do costs money. >> reporter: and work and time are running out. >> christian, mississippi, charles watson, fox news. arthel: okay. well, investigators are trying to find out what caused three americans on vacation at a dominican republican resort to fall ill and die during the same week. what we're learning about the mysterious deaths. ♪ ♪ applebee's new loaded chicken fajitas. now only $10.99. on a john deere x300 series mower. because seasons change but true character doesn't. wow, you've outdone yourself this time. hey, what're neighbors for? it's beautiful. run with us. search "john deere x300" for more. ♪ ♪ eric: well, remember the movie the birds? apparently, it's happening in real life. a horror story unfolding in florida where vultures have invaded one neighborhood. it's happening just east of orlando in orange county. hundreds of the birds are filling the streets, damaging property and resting on the roofs. folks there trying to get the homeowners association to remove the vultures, but the association reportedly claims, well, it's not their problem. how'd you like to see all these vultures hanging out outside your window? arthel: no. many questions remain about the mysterious deaths of three americans at a dominican republic resort all in the same week. and now investigators are trying to figure out why these three people died. jacqui heinrich is following this in our new york city newsroom. >> reporter: well, arthel, those three american tourists also all had the same cause of death, and since the news of of that link came out, there have been alleges from families at least five more people who say they also got sick or died at the hotel on the island. brenda was the first in a string of recent deaths. her family says may 25th she took a drink from the mini bar and then collapsed. paramedics could not revive her. on may 30th a hotel employee found edward nathaniel holmes and cynthia day dead in their hotel room after they failed to check out. all three had fluid in their lungs and enlarged hearts according to the autopsies. now the family of a pennsylvania woman has come forward raising questions about her death last june. she took a drink from the mini bar, went to bed and never woke up. >> we were promised within three months that we would receive a toxicology report. to this day, which is almost a year now, we've gotten nothing. >> reporter: the baltimore widow is also asking questions about her husband's death last july. don mccoy was reportedly told by authorities that her husband, david harrison, died of a heart attack. she told local news stations he woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe, and she regrets not getting a second autopsy. also this week a colorado couple said they filed a lawsuit against the hotel chain alleging they were poisoned by pesticides while staying at that resort last year, and a brooklyn woman also came forward saying she became violently ill last october. dominican authorities say the cases and depths appear unrelated. >> translator: invest last year, we have received 30,000 tourists and have never had to give a press conference like this to clarify nothing. tells you that it is coincidental, circumstantial fact that has occurred. >> reporter: the state department is monitoring the investigations into those deaths. arthel: indeed. jacqui heinrich, thank you. eric: if you bought a mega millions ticket this past week, you could retire. more details on the huge jackpot and where the lucky ticket was bought.
