About the media this weekend. We are alive. Here are the president s golf course in summer retreat. Leland still grappling with repealing and replacing about my care. They have to make a deal on the budget. House Budget Committee chair, congresswoman diane black. All ahead on this Independence Day weekend of americas news hq. President trumps twitter account is joining quite a lot of hits today. Peter doocy is live with all the details. Hi, peter. More than 132,000 people have arguably treated tempting posted by real donald trump three hours ago which is an edited video version of the wwe World Wrestling entertainment clip that shows trump ottey slamming Vince Mcmahon where his head has been replaced with the cnn logo. Not in any specific personality, that cnn is out with a statement accusing the president of inciting violence. It is a sad day when the president of the United States encourages reporters. The president had never done so. The Trump Administration officials are scoffing at the idea that President Trump meant anyone physical harm with this post. Certainly not. I hope they dont. But i do think hes beaten up in a lan cable platforms that he has the right to respond to. He does that regularly. Almost all of the president s comments over this long weekend so far have been about what he sees as unfair coverage of this administration and also last night at the Kennedy Center at an event honoring veterans. The fake media is trying to silence us. But we will not let them. Because the people know the truth. The fake media tried to stop a from going to the white house. But i am president and they are not. [cheers and applause] the president is reinforcing the message that he given many, many times. He sees twitter is the only way to get to his supporters that the nonfiltered platform and he explained last night on twitter, quote, social media is not president ial. It is modernday president ial. Make America Great again. The president does think to get some work done today. White house officials tell us tonight he plans to be by phone with the Prime Minister of japan and the president of china. Liz. Peter doocy lyford new jersey. Thank you so much. Leland. A group of republican senators want Mitch Mcconnell to cancel the august recess, otherwise known as their vacation and stay in d. C. So congress can work on a Health Care Fix to put things in perspective as you might remember, this time last week senators were talking about a vote before they left for the july 4th weekend. Clearly that didnt happen. Gary tenney picks up in front of the capital. What is this deadline now . Leland, it clearly keeps moving back. They would vote by the end of last week and now hes hoping it would have been before the august recess. A growing number of republicans are not so optimistic that that will happen. 10 senators now call on him to cancel so they will have time to find something that can pass. One idea that picking up traction among conservatives is the idea is to divide the current bill, first repealing and finding out what to replace it with. Im well support repeal at her place if we can get a good replace plan across the finish line. But if not, we should unbundle that, republicans give their word they are going to repeal. We should do it. We should delay its implementation and not 100 senators should get before the American People on camera 18 hours a day for all of august and we should do better than obamacare. Theres no they would build the past partly because repealing without a plan would create a lot of uncertainty and could start chaos. But doing it separately would allow republicans to bring in democrat like joe manchin who do want to work with republicans. If you dont have the 50 votes, you can get rid of budget reconciliation. They can get rid of the speech of legislation. When you start replacing that come your back through the process. I am willing to set down tonight. No indication cant doing for dividing the repeal and replace process but if republicans can get any progress towards passing the current bill, that could change. Leland allotted 30 change. Youre attending holding down the fort there in d. C. Thank you. A lot more about what could change. Thats right. More potential hurdles ahead. Diane black joins us. Thank you for joining us. We can see lawmakers kicking the can down the road. I want to get to the budget with you obviously because you are the chairwoman. But also you cant kick the can down the road. A budget has to be passed. Absolutely. Tell me about where the biggest challenges, but you face this week. First of all congressionally or constitutionally to do a budget. We also are looking right now that we have to rebuild part of our budget process as well as making sure that we look at our spending habits. We are trying to get all these together to decide how much they are going to do when im insisting we do mandatory spending because it the greatest drivers. One penny is all im asking for in each dollar. We can save grandchildren. Elizabeth sounds easy, but should the House Freedom caucus, moderate, all of them some of them want a lot of pets. Some of them want no cuts. How do you balance the two . Especially right now been a lot of focus is on the military. People say youre not going to take away my food stamps. Thats always an issue across the country and represent their own district. We all need to come together and say yes, this is a worthwhile project we are doing because we have to get the tax reform. This is our vehicle for that. We are saving this country and mandatory spending and it also is our constitutional requirement to pass the budget. It is trying to decide where it is we can find that sweet spot and i believe we are getting there. When you look at the budget resolution and i know you want to have the budget balanced within 10 years. I know you want to raise entitlement and give pentagon more cash. What is the biggest Sticking Point right now . What are people behind the scenes most upset about her most in this agreement about . I think the biggest consternation right now is just whether you cut as we are recommending, 200 billion, again, just 1 penny out of every dollar or more than that or less than that. As he vindicated when you Start Talking about programs, there states that are more of a state where they asked and did the Medicaid Health care and they hold onto those dollars and then you have some folks that dont want to do with welfare because maybe their state defense on the welfare money. If there is a way to find a sweet spot we can do this. We can get back to congress through our workweek here. Thats what i was going to ask you. What about the timeline . July 30th is your deadline. July 30th is when you leave for a break. We have until september. That is our fiscal year. The reason why the budget is so important right now. Tax cut where they take the dollar we give them and start putting it line by line. This will do their work as well. We give them a dollar amount, which is what the Budget Committee does and they need to get to their work as well. Elizabeth i jumped the gun a little bit because the reason i brought up tax cuts is because the president is talking about tax reform. Who would have helped her in the rearview mirror, the budget would be done. Right now talking about reforming the tax code. Thats not up for discussion until the budget is done. Thats right. We want to do this in a program called reconciliation, which simply means you dont have a filibuster in the senate and tax reform is very and senate. And theres a lot of moving pieces. The other is rebuilding our military and also doing tax reform. All of these fit into the budget of a musket or a budget done so we can do all those things for this country. Elizabeth want to ask a personal question. The past 24 hours we visited a local manufacturer, beretta, a good manufacturing company. Is there a lot of speculation that perhaps maybe you are looking at perhaps the governors race here in the state of tennessee. Do you have any news you want to break here . We love breaking news. Elizabeth, thank you for asking. Im really obligated to do what i said i would do. When i went to congress to do and not is to get our spending under control. I feel so good about that. Thats the progress we are making. Elizabeth if you ever want to break news, we do it here, but we know how much you have on your plate and we appreciate your time. Great being here with you. I took her to her of beretta u. S. A. Manufacturing. Well have that here in the show. Of course, keep your right here on fox news all day long for the latest on the health care bottle. Be sure to tune in at 2 00 p. M. Eastern to catch if his interview with senator rand paul is very skeptical of the Current Senate plan right here on the Fox News Channel after the show. You dont want to miss it. Leland. Tree until you do not. Here in the. Here on the flight line at andrews, there were two f16s. The pilots of the 103rd in d. C. Air National Guard sleep in their flight suits and they only have two minutes to intercept the plane headed to capital before its too late. Keep in mind, before 9 11, this mission didnt exist. Our give every time it goes off and we scramble, a realworld event, just like 9 11. More than 5000 since 9 11. We are not defending our nation orders and way of life. Fox news, you name it. All the viewers out there we are here to defend you and we are proud of that. We are proud of them. The man who commands this group of fires does the reality of what happened on 9 11 all too well because he was dispatched to intercept flight 93 on that day. Major general mark sasso. Thank you. The biggest difference between now and 9 11 when you took off, you are unarmed. That is true. It is a dangerous time for all of us. A lot of unknowns. We have to make some quick decisions on the spot. We did not have time to get weapons loaded. The subsequent pilots that took off after me and my wingman certainly did. That was our entry into the Defense Mission as it is today, we have multiple sites that do the same. This is by far the busiest one. We flew along with some of your pilots a couple days ago. Got to see firsthand how quickly things have been in the air from the time we took off to the time we were out over the water in maryland was four, five, six minutes. He gave u. S. And of how quickly it Something Like 9 11 happened again. Youre absolutely right. Everything is compressed in todays environment with heat as the essence of life. In this air Defense Mission we perform, that translates into the other things we do as a National Guard, we are there to support local and state authorities with a bunch of other areas of involvement like fire fading, floods, all those events require very fast decisionmaking. Rerun of Trading Mission with about eight different pilot. A lot of those tinkerers landed at tanking from the tankers flying. The guys are be a sin we have 105 dedicated professionals with multiple careers are they the career like you said with the company and some work in government. They have a career with us. It is a great environment for people to be part of something big. Donald rumsfeld who talked about there is no known for unknowns and it seems as though a 9 11 it was the unknown that came to my desk and why we werent ready, why there was sent missiles on the plane. Is there a thinking now about how to stay ahead of the threat, how to protect in the air against the next threat rather than 9 11 . Things have changed quite a bit. When i think of that day, i get a little nauseous and make it a little angry. We are doing much better at exploring what does unknowns are out there. Were looking at things quite differently and were in much better place. Tree into the one thing universal when you talk to not only pilot level, but also staff level is we are more ready, but at the same time, we arent as ready because we dont have the funding to train as much as we want to have as much equipment as they want, to have as much equipment as they want. Is that still an issue for the air guard . As the air guard were fully administrated in the air force. The civilians, we are in awkward missionaries and we hope with the satellite doing important things. Cyberwarriors and networks. We have been told analysts. In support of the joint force and our coalition, and we are destroying the enemy. You are absolutely right. Its a long list. Are you getting more funding . Is there a feeling this tickets will open again and they will train more, and adds a new toys to the f16s . What i can say is they would greatly help us we can really go a long way in regaining a lot of readiness in a big part of that would be to increase our manpower. The people that are left behind, get back up on the step and increase americas readiness. We understood firsthand from your experience on for the readiness is. Appreciate you being here. Youve been so welcoming to us. U. S. Forces making is that i lived overseas today. The pentagon is fashioning of navy warship within 12 miles located in the South China Sea bee hind vietnam.
